Snug harbour is in a good location with stunning views and huge potential. However, there is a considerable amount to do to make it appealing. The twin beds were dreadful with worn out mattresses through which the wooden slats underneath could be felt. The carpet in the main living dining area was stained and dirty and the bathrooms needed replacing. Sadly the accommodation just felt grubby.
Breakfast was good prepared by Bram who is a chef. Delroy welcomed us on arrival and helped us with luggage but really gents you need to get your act together and refurbish the place!!

Stunning views over Port Alfred and waterfront. Very relaxed attentive hosts. Amazing spread of food for afternoon tea and breakfast - we should have stayed here longer than one night. So accommodating and helpful with all the little things you have to deal with when travelling. Beautifully appointed rustic old rooms and facilities.

Very hard to initially find and get in - improved signage and operational intercom at the fence/gate would be ideal

House and garden need a make over. Security needs sorting out, All furniture needs to be replaced. No cupboards in the room. Had to live out of suitcases. Needs a thorough deep clean. The hosts were good and the breakfast was awesome.

They must improve the lounge with new sofas and flat screen TV and it will be great if they can do a little bit of cleaning before the guest arrive. It would also be great if they can change the sheets every morning we stayed for three nights still using the same sheets , Other than that the place was good the breakfast was mouth-watering and the staff was friendly

My family and I had a memorable time at Snug Harbour , the accommodation and views were great but mostly Bram Coetzee s cooking , eating at his restaurant down at the river was awesome.
This little gem is worth a stay no matter what you are down in Port Alfred for.

Snug Harbour rates as one of the best Guest houses we have visited . Comfortable , well appointed rooms , Great view over the Port Alfred Marina , Super breakfasts with bottomless cups of Tea (very important to me ) . Very relaxed attentive hosts - well worth a visit . They made great recommendations for Dinner .
If you are a birder in Port Alfred ask about getting hold of Tim Foxcroft - top class guide
