This has been an amazing holiday and we can’t recommend this hotel enough. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly, they are great with kids and will do anything for you. How this resort has ever got some of the bad reviews is beyond us as it’s so lovely.
The pools are perfect for children and teens as there are 3 to choose from. The one with the water slides is shallow enough all the way along for approx age 7+ to stand up in, making it so safe. There is then a deeper pool for swimming and a more winding variable depth pool with a small kids pool section too. The pools were very cold at the end of October but the weather was lovely so they were very refreshing when you got in! Once you’re in for a few mins they are lovely and the kids didn’t care!
The food was excellent, such a huge choice of anything you could imagine really. It is often a bit repetitive but there is always something different every night if you look. There is always chips, pizza, rice, pasta and chicken/meat for the kids and even our very fussy son found food he liked everyday. Breakfast was a bit strange if you are used to UK food! Salad and soup for breakfast was different! There is spicy hot dog type sausages and scrambled eggs though and also the most gorgeous freshly cooked omelettes each morning. Huge amounts of cereal and breads for toast along with freshly cooked scotch type pancakes that were lovely.
The rooms were the only slight let down to our stay. They along with the rest of the hotel were spotless and cleaned everyday, with fresh towels and the minibar replaced with free drinks. The problems we found was that the family room isn’t really fit for purpose of a family of 4, especially if your kids are older as they are expected to share a double sofa bed. For our 13 and 9 year old girl and boy this wasn’t a great option. We asked for an extra bed which they brought for us in the first night but the room was then extremely cramped and we couldn’t walk around without climbing over beds. It would be better to book a suit or adjoining rooms if you are a family of 4 with older children, plus the extra camp bed was fine for our 9 year old but not for anyone older or larger than that. The rooms were lovely though except for the space side of it and also lack of storage space was an issue- bring your own hangers if you can!
The entertainment for day and night was brilliant, there’s always something going on for the kids and adults. We wished the nighttime show was on earlier than 10pm though, 9 would be a better time especially for those with younger children.
Overall this hotel has been an amazing place to stay for our family holiday and I would absolutely recommend it. We wouldn’t hesitate to return again next year but would just book a larger room. Thanks to all of the staff for an absolutely fabulous holiday.

The Kefaluka hotel is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in on a holiday abroad, the views are fantastic, the pools are brilliant, the staff all go above and beyond to be cheerful and helpful, the slides are a lot of fun, the water spray park is fantastic for the kids as the the park area and arcade which includes a bowling alley, billiards room and shooting gallery.

The room was large with a large bed, settee with leg rests, A fridge that is stocked daily with 2 beers 2 water 2 coke 2 sparkling water and 2 orange drink, the bath room is a decent size and has shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel, body moisturizer, a box with ear buds cotton wool and shower caps, all which are replenished daily if used and the bathroom comes with toothbrushes and towel slippers. the bed was as ridiculously big as it was comfortable.

The Restaurant was well stocked with loads of choice and very tasty for breakfast lunch and dinner, Snacks, waffles and ice-cream are available all day until around 6.

the Beach is a man made private beach with a large peir/jetty that has a bar at the end that serves drinks snacks waffles and ice creams. there is also a little kebab hut on the beach too. on one side of the jetty (it's T shaped) there's a big blue float in the water to swim out too and sun bathe.

we ate at the Italian a la carte restaurant and it was beautiful, there are also Mexican, Chinese and Turkish a la restaurants.

Drinks wise the beer is Efes, not a bad drop. then they had your usual local spirits. in the bars though you could get captain Morgan and Jonny walker red all part of the inclusive drinks which was superb, the tonic and bitter lemon etc. we're all branded too

the entertainment on the evening was very good, much better then I expected for abroad shows, the Turkish and Mongolian shows were the stand out not to miss events.

COVID-19 thoughts

the hotel was very Covid safe, masks had to be worn everywhere when walking about and if you didn't have one they had plenty to give to you, hand sanitizer was everywhere too and all the staff regularly sanitised and wore masks at all times, in the Restaurant drinks were brought to you and food was served to you to reduce any contamination. Unfortunately but probably for the best the indoor only restaurants bars were closed as was the billiards room, indoor pools and cinema

Me and my Wife came to the Kefaluka for our Honeymoon but we will be returning here with the children next year and for many years to come.

Went with my friend as a last minute booking as our original holiday had been cancelled. Easy check in and free room upgrade which was lovely. The grounds are stunning and well kept and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Buffet restaurant was good, lots of choice and we didn’t get bored. Italian restaurant was good but our favourite was the Turkish restaurant, food was amazing and there was so much. Hotel is quite isolated but you can use the hotel shuttle to go to Turgetries, Bodrum or Mid Town for a few pounds. We had a lovely relaxing holiday and felt very safe, the COVID restrictions they follow are very good. Only negative was the room cleaning, they made the beds, changed towels and mopped floors but that was it. Several times we had to call for extra toiletries, tea coffee etc and none of the surfaces in the room were cleaned during our stay. We will return again as we enjoyed it so much

Stayed 7 nights. We were upgraded on arrival to a larger sea-view room 5111 which was very nice(40" TV with 3 good film channels). Hotel kept very clean and staff were very pleasant and helpfull.
Food generally good if a bit monotonous.
Drinks decent quality
Entertainment what you would expect, local acrobats, dancers, musicians and getting audience participants drunk to be silly.
Pool areas very clean (Sea warmer than the pools) Plenty sunbeds at pools and beach.( Take a snorkle and mask )
Good shuttle bus service to local areas (£10 return for 2 to Turgatrice 30min ride/ £25 return to Bodrum 1hr ride) Private taxis a little more.
Shame about only 2 lifts in a hotel that size meant long waits at times.
This hotel is great for kids up to 12/13yrs but not much for the teenagers.
Covid spoilt things a little with parts of the hotel (speciality restaurant/Spa, indoor pool closed)

Dear Ken, Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences of staying with us at Kefaluka Resort. It is a pleasure to learn that you enjoyed your holiday and appreciated our services in general. Allow us to respond to some of the comments provided; -With our 2 weekly changing menu in the main restaurant (both for lunch and dinner), various themed evenings and this summer, 3 à la carte restaurants, we offer a wide selection of flavors. Also for lunch there are several options, besides the main restaurant, an international snack restaurant, a Turkish snack point, a pancake house, a beach snack point and a pastry / pastry restaurant. - Due to covid 19 measures it is only allowed to use the lift with max. 2 persons (or guests of the same party / family) and some of the indoor facilities are indeed closed (all details are published on our website). We have tried to keep it to a minimum, but at the same time, we are obliged to follow the rules set by the government. We all hope that everything returns to normal soon and that we can welcome yo back soon, With Kind regards, Nathalie SIMONS Guest Relations Manager

We chose this hotel after our villa in Lanzarote was cancelled due to COVID. To be honest, I was a little nervous about staying in an all inclusive hotel during the pandemic but needn't have worried. Our luggage was disinfected on arrival and taken to our room and our temperatures were taken. Our room was spotless and spacious. The only downside was the air con didn't work very well, I reported it to reception and they sent an engineer but it made no difference. I think this was an issue with our room as others said theirs was ok. The complex was beautiful and exceptionally clean, In the main restaurant the buffet food was served to you due to restrictions - this was a bit tricky as you couldn't always see what was what - some of the food wasn't labelled. However, everything I had was tasty. The Italian A La Carte was lovely with great views over the bay. My son loved the slides and the pools were a good temperature. The animation team were lovely and worked hard in the difficult conditions. I enjoyed the aqua gym. Most nights we spent in the roof top bar, enjoying the views over several G&Ts. (you could ask for premium drinks but I was happy with their local gin!)
This was the most relaxed I have felt since March - well done Kefaluka and all your staff, particularly the animation team who would stop for a chat and see everything was ok. We loved our week and didn't want to return home.
I am not sure what the hotel would be like if it was at capacity, we liked that fact that it was quieter.

We stayed at this hotel for a week, starting in late of August.
We were satisfied, overall. What disappointed us, but, of course, the hotel is not to blame, is the wind too strong, which blew almost permanently and I understood that in that area is a normal aspect. We didn't know that, and it's very possible that you gave up this location, it's really annoying.
There is also a negative aspect, from our point of view, in the "room control" person. This person allowed himself to he came upon us in the room, without answering our questions, with a superior attitude, he did not explain his presence there, he totally ignored us, he did not even ask permission to enter. Moreover, my son was in the bathroom when the "control room"and hearing the noise, the little one did not flush the the toilet, instead, the person entered the bathroom, and do it. Then he left, leaving us without any explanation. Another day, when we were not in the hotel, he entered the room and took the beach towels, without leaving us the towel cards.
Of course I went to the reception, where the receptionist was very ok and who gave me the towel cards, apologizing on behalf of his colleague.
Otherwise, the view is spectacular, cleaning is done, the minibar is refilled daily, all rooms have sea views, the food is good and varied (obviously not very pleasant way of serving, imposed by the Covid pandemic, but that's it).
There are several beach areas, you also have wind protection, I recommend entering the sea, on the beach with the statue (Mermaid), which is smoother. It is true, in the first days of August 30, it was very crowded and I waited more for a place at the table, and the sunbeds were almost impossible to find, but this happens everywhere, in Turkey, around this holiday.
Many places to relax, the sea is clean and has a beautiful color. The rest of the staff responded promptly to our requests. There are plenty of activities for both children and adults. So many places where you can eat, at any time. You will receive a map, consult it, if you do not want to miss something :)
The animators are very attentive and friendly and the shows in the Amphitheater are not to be missed!
Only that wind is a problem, actually. But, I repeat, ... it's not the hotel's fault.

Overall, we were really happy with this resort, especially as it was a last minute booking, but it lacks a few things if it claims to be 5 star. There were a few minor issues, but nothing which affected us too much, and we thought they are handling the COVID issues really well.

The hotel itself looks really grand, and grounds are beautiful. There is plenty to do and plenty of pool area and space for sun loungers. That being said, we were there in October at a time when travel has been significantly hampered, so we could see it being far too busy at the height of the season.

There are lots of bars and options for food, and you can get at least a snack pretty much 24/7.

The main restaurant for breakfast and dinner has a large selection of food, but it felt a bit repetitive each day. We don't tend to do all-inclusive for this reason, and we chose to go out of resort a few times.

We found that drink service could be slow at meal times, as it was often difficult to get a waiter's attention - nothing major, but something which you'd expect to run a lot smoother at a 5 star.

You can eat at one of the a la carte restaurants one night, and even though 2 of them were closed due to COVID, there was still a choice of three. You have to book the day in advance, but no earlier for some reason. I believe there is an option to pay for a further a la carte meal, but our rep suggested to us that if they had availability, they would allow you to eat there again without charge. We did not enquire about a 2nd meal though.

We didn't do many of the activities, but there looked to be a lot to do, including water sports (non-motorised ones are included, others such as jet skiing are extra).

There is entertainment every night in the amphitheatre, which was enjoyable, but probably started too late for our liking (2200 hours), given how loud it was. There's little chance of falling asleep before midnight, especially on a Friday or Saturday night when the disco is going on. Don't get me wrong, it's a holiday resort, and it's not going on until the early hours, but it isn't great for anyone who wants to get to sleep at a decent time.

Our room was nice, but again not upto a 5 star standard, and the bathroom was quite basic.

We weren't quite sure what the case is with the shuttle buses, as when we asked Guest Relations, they only mentioned the local public buses. These run every 30 minutes or so to both Turgutreis and to Bodrum, and half the Bodrum buses will actually collect you from the hotel to save you walking the 10 minutes into Akyalar. It's about 20 minutes to Turgutreis and 45 minutes to Bodrum and cost about 50p sterling and 70p each way, respectively.

Dear Jordan, Thank you for sharing your detailed review of your stay with us at Kefaluka Resort. We are pleased to learn that you seemed to have enjoyed your holiday overall. Both positive and negative comments are very useful for us to be able to evaluate our services and make adjustments where necessary. Allow us to respond to some of the comments provided; Officially only 1 à la carte dinner per week is included in the AI formula, but we also work with a waiting / reserve list that gives our guests the opportunity to go multiple times, at no extra cost*. * This is not a guarantee and is subject to availability. This season we were unfortunately not allowed to offer our usual shuttle service due to covid 19 measures, the only options were a taxi, private hotel transfer or a public bus. Kefaluka Resort was built in 2009, every winterperiod when the hotel is closed, renovations are carried out and / or new functions are being built, for example in 2019/2020 our main restaurant had a makeover and a brand new spray park for children was installed. This in order to keep our resort fresh and modern. We hope to have the pleasure welcoming you back in the near future, With Kind Regards, Nathalie SIMONS Guest Relations Manager

The hotel is very isolated from the city services. The food leaves a lot space to be desired and you always have to change the dishes and glasses, they have food marks on them because they don't wash well. A cup with lipstick, a plate with food stains or a glass that has not been washed well are what you encounter in most cases when you touch a container during mealtime. While you are sleeping, the staff constantly enters the room without knocking on the door, once to bring water (which can almost be considered non-drinkable), then the cleaning service, which actually does not clean anything, only straightens the cover. when the shampoo in the bathroom runs out, it doesn't refill either. In this hotel, you will not find blankets, only some uncomfortable covers that burn on the body from the sun burns also, causing friction and pain. In this hotel, the TV only works with local channels and there is nothing you can watch if you don't know Turkish, not even Netflix or anything. Here, the pool, if you dive in with goggles, has endless dirt, the food is to pass the queue in most cases, there are only a few things that leave an impression. The grass and drinks are really strange, they don't have a full taste, and most importantly water is really a problem here. The fruits are unripe, or at least that's what happened during my stay here. The staff little understands Englisht, only 4-5 of them. I checked in at the hotel after 2:30, though
my arrival according to the package was at 8 o'clock and I had to stand in the sun outside without a room to put on my bathroom clothes (this is because hygiene in public bathrooms is totally forgotten and I couldn’t neither use that).Tgey offered me to have a drink or smth butI can not just stay and have a drik 8 until 2.30. And yes, in this hotel in 2022, there is NO wifi (at least 80% of the time in the room and if you leave the room, there is no wifi in any case), so you must definitely have Roaming. At the pool area, there are fewer sunbeds than tourists and there are even fewer umbrellas. You have to wake up at 6 to take a tent with two sunbeds, and if you go back to sleep, someone else has taken the tent and they even move it to another side (and the staff also helps with this). You should definitely consult the capacity you offer because this is really problematic. You may have rooms but you do not have umbrellas and sunbeds for all.
The price is economic when compared to other resorts but unjustifiable with what the hotel offers. At least some of them are polite in communication. The view of the hotel is beautiful, but the coast is very rough with stones, you definitely need to wear a protective cap to swim there.

Dear Guest Mrs. Emanuela, Thank you for submitting your comments. However, we regret to state that most of the issues are far from reality. Our facility is not a facility that provides service as you mentioned and deserves these negative comments. On the contrary, it is praised by a high number of guests in such channels. The positive comments we received in large numbers remind us; overall it makes us believe we are doing a good job, especially during the peak season. Finally, our guests who stayed in terms of price quality performance were satisfied with our service standards and this satisfaction has been a major factor in choosing us for their future holidays. We are very sorry that we could not include you among our other guests who spent their holiday at Kefaluka Resort hotel and left happily. Regards, Kefaluka Team

We traveled to this resort after our original holiday was cancelled last minute. We were not disappointed.
You are made to feel welcome from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only criticism would be the floors needed cleaning more often than it was in our family room.
All other areas of the hotel are spotless. The pool is wonderful and the water park is great for the children.
We hired the Pavilions for 3 days and the service and rental price is worth every penny. Thank you to the guest services for arranging this for us.
Food is delicious wherever you decide to eat. The Turkish al a carte is outstanding.
A shout out to Idris in the pool bar restaurant area. He’s a credit to the hotel.
Disappointed some other guests found it not necessary to wear face masks in communal areas. Although this is no fault of the hotel they are just selfish people.
We enjoyed it so much we booked to return before we’d even left.

We stayed in Kefaluka for around a week. Our experience was more of a disappointment for a 5 star hotel.

The positives :

1) The service was excellent from everybody working. Special thanks to Ramazan, Alim Kaya, Mehmet to their excellent and amazing service.
2) The view and the sea is the best in the city. The hotel has an amazing view and the sea is great. Some windy days to swim but still fantastic.

The negatives :

1) The food was not tasty at all. We were quite disappointed by the food. Everyday, a lot of variety was being served but the quality does not at all match an 5 start hotel and rather bad. The meat was dry and had no taste at all (Antrikot, Steak, Kofte, etc), the shrimp, salmon was bad. The cheese platter tasted like it was brought from 2-3 weeks old. Some of the days, we even decided to eat outside the hotel because of our disappointment. However, the kebabi restaurant (a la carte menu) was much much better.
2) The room were quite old. You can see the hotel made some very good investments in the exterior part of the hotel but the room were old and not renovated since the opening of the hotel.
3) The room cleaning was not great. The room was not vacuumed for multiple days and the bathroom was left untouched (just changed towels).

Even though that the hotel has an amazing view and beach, we will not return to kefaluka

There’s music around the pool during the day but not too loud, at night it can be loud and can be heard in the room, the evening shows usually start at 10pm in the amphitheater then they have a disco in the midnight snack bar afterwards and it goes on quite late - live singers, belly dancers etc. They do a shuttle bus into turgetries which u can book at guest relations I can’t remember how Much it was but this needs to be paid for although not expensive. Taxis are available too if u ask reception to call one. Hope this helps

The reception will call you a taxi. It should cost 30-35 Euros, but you can ask the reception before calling the taxi to the hotel.

"Be aware that the hotel is a little more remote from Bodrum and a Dolmuc is difficult. They provide a good taxi service but the rate is higher. Take a pool side room 😉"
