We were 3 gents who stayed over during around SA scooting trip. We arrived late afternoon, unpacked and had a braai. It must be a good place for a family holiday, nearby the beach and ski-boat club house. The layout, furniture and setting was good. It is basic but functional and clean. A fan in both rooms would complement the facility

The following could be addressed:
Get the stand ground level even for caravan stands 15 and 16
Spend time to repair the various activity areas such as the tennis courts, volleyball court, ring tennis court etc.
With Bobbies being closed, open the hall again with television facilities to watch sports
Add a play room with say table tennis tables, pool tables etc.
Plant trees in the caravan park instead of only removing them. Over the years trees were only removed and cut down and none planted. Trees help with shade and reduce wind.
Without washing machines, two weeks are a long period for a family of 6 w.r.t. washing. Can these be re-instated?
Although we love Por Edward, the resort has been on a downhill path and will get less and less people coming if something is not done to get it up to standard.

Good morning Many thanks for your review, many thanks for taking the time to help us! We have been locked down, and on opening have been busy with our chalets, and thanks to your help, will get a team in to look at the stands. Much appreciated. We used to have a play room for all our guests, sadly was vandalized and we decided to close this! We removed only trees that made it easier for guest to park in K19, we have not removed any other trees! As for the washing machines, there is a laundamat less than 1 km from the resort, as our machines were no longer working, we have a deal with them, they will even collect your laundry if needed! I hope this helps and we can welcome you back in the near future. Once again many thanks, this will help us improve.

Calm and serene atmosphere. Friendly staff and cleaning staff. Facility was clean well maintained. Just a lil more effort on the cleaning and fresh smell on linen would make a difference. Good holiday

I was last at your resort 30 years ago and was pleasantly surprised how it had changed. The service I experienced telephonically when booking was very good, so was our arrival welcome. Our chalet was spotlessly clean and I really could not fault anything with regards to cleanliness of our chalet, although it did not smell that great. The lounge suit sofa was old and very uncomfortable to sit on, as there was no more foam on the seat part of the sofa. We were in unit B11. What really trouble me, was the number of people crammed into the chalet right next to us, being B12. I counted 6 children and 6 adults. That is, 12 people crammed into a chalet that only caters for 4 people (I am assuming it had 2 rooms like our chalet)!!!! This would mean that they would have to be sleeping in the lounge and on the lounge sofas, which is just not on and probably the reason why the couches are so worn. They took the outside plastic table from B10, as well as their braai which they obviously needed for all of them to sit around to eat. When the people arrived on Saturday for B10, I watched the kids carry the braai and table back and put it on the side of B10 chalet. I'm not sure how you check how many people are in each chalet but clearly you cannot believe the initial booking and measures need to be put in place so this practice is stopped immediately. This same chalet also had visitors that arrived early in the morning and left after dark. When the family left, I noticed that their kids were bathed and in the pjs. This would mean that that chalet bathed 14 people a day? Regrettably, it is people like this that totally spoil and ruin it for others.

Good afternoon Many thanks for your review, this helps us to improve where we can, as for the sofa, we will fix this! as for the guests next door to you, some people do take a chance and bring day visitors in during the day, some don't behave as they should. I believe the guest also had other guest staying in the resort, but will follow this up. we do hope you will not wait 30 years again to visit us! Kind Regards John GM

We paid very expensive for a chalet that is at the most 2 star. Upon arrival the fridge and toilet and bathroom overall were not clean, which are areas that should be the cleanest, especially amidst the Covid pandemic. Around the chalet was very dirty, with mud smelling like sewerage, so we were convinced that it was in fact sewerage and rubbish lying around in the grass, like coldrink tops, can tops, pieces of paper, bread packet clips and more. Very little privacy, especially over peak public holidays with the parking lot in front of the chalet packed with people parking playing loud music, hovering and staring at us while having breakfast on the patio. Walking around there were a lot of bad smells coming from drains, probably because the drains had been blocked and not maintained.

other than the chalet and direct surroundings of the chalet, the swimming pool was clean and tidy and a pleasure to swim in. I had a peak in the camp site ablutions and they were immaculate. but the chalet was not worth the price we paid. We previously paid a similar rate for a holiday flat in Upper Umhlanga and these two cannot compare.

The lounge and kitchen lighting are very dim and poor. Kitchen sink taps are too low and had to wash big utensils. I had to sort out the shower door before using it. Surely the cleaners should check this and report to you.

It has been over 40 years since we last had the opportunity to visit and was amazed at the upgrade of the resort. Extremely clean and quality bedding and towels. Kitchen well equipped (just missed my own frying pan). Staff at booking very helpful (thank you Sandile) as well as at arrival and your security staff at the gate! Although parking in a parking area only (and not next to your unit) keeps the resort neat and tidy, it is a problem especially for older people, to carry your luggage, etc all the way to the unit. Will definitely be back!

Dear John
I must say this was our worst experience of our lives . we got there at 12noon and told can only check in at 2pm we waited until 4.30pm to check into 2 units cleaners were still busy.

The units were filthy and smelling, we could not leave any food out ants were eating it. the building is run down the tills are coming off the cupboards are rotten. Place run down and not possible for stay during any holidays, no care the toilets stink and bathrooms are dirty we had to cringe to get into this place. There was no clean drinking water

I need an urgent refund of my deposit and a reimbursement on the amount we paid my family members are angry and want to put on social media, I told them to hang on for a response from you. We will never come to this place again.

Very very unhappy you spoilt our holiday vacation
