We have visited before and thought “we have the points, so let’s use them” and revisit this happy place again.
Indelicate weather at this time of year lends itself to not too hot and humid and just nice and cool to sleep at night.
Well we are in a different unit that is closer to the one of three pools and a lovely stretch of natural mini-lake water tranquil and picturesque beyond emagine toon.
This place runs like a well oile machine. No obvious management bossing people or overt security but you know it’s happening in the background out of sight because everything works and the upkeep of the units is top class.
We have seen other guests but not heard any rowdy parties or even seen gatherings.
Covid regulations or just respectful of others? It matters not we have relaxed in these tranquil settings and will be back.
The stretch of beach is fisherman, but no swimming friendly hence the three pools.
The beaches are rather deserted so we thought we should be on our guard but after spending hours down along the estuary and the five kilometre uninterrupted stretch of beach sand we realised we were being nervous for nothing.
Attached are some of our pics.

We visited the Montego Bay villa's. Big and well equipped 3 bedroom villa. Unfortunately the swimming pool at MB were being renovated but we knew that beforehand. Fridge were not working properly, lounge seating needs replacement. On the patio the little braai fell apart. They need some Webers or proper sturdy braais.
The estate gardens are perfectly kept although the "reserve" side is overtaken with invasive species. Lookout points on the walking trails are overgrown and offer no view.
Clubhouse were closed during the whole stay,. It seemed that day visitors were allowed to take over one of the pools, although limited day visitors are allowed as per rules.
Generally the estate is a strange mix of private houses and cluster like holiday villas. No interaction between the "resort" and visitors. Please note, NOT WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY, at all.

Beautifully situated well kept estate. Accommodation clean and modern with well equipped kitchen.
Pity about lack of attention to detail eg missing light bulb and two prong plug for bedside light.
Contact numbers not operational??
Would definitely go back👍

We spent a week at one of the time share units in the Tortuga block.

The unit was beautifully appointed, very spacious and the kitchen was well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The 2 bedrooms each had a good amount of cupboard space.

The balcony had a gas braai and overlooked the gardens and waterways where the nightly chorus of the frogs was a delight.

The entire estate was very well maintained and the gardens were especially well looked after. Within 25 minutes drive to Ramsgate with some exceptional restaurants. Access to the beach was fairly easy and the beach was beautiful and mostly empty.

Highly recommended.

The Caribbean estate is beautifully located on the bank of a river opposite the Wild coast Sun resort.
The estate itself is well maintained with beautiful gardens and facilities.
The unit unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. Other than the clean white cotton bedding and the spaciousness of the lounge and dining area, the rest of the unit is mediocre. The bathrooms in particular are desperately in need of a revamp. The telephone shower in the main bath had fallen off the wall , the bathroom cupboards were chipped. The second bath was poky and pathetic. Old taps without mixers. The tiles were worn down and terribly discolored. No aircons in the 2 smaller rooms. House-keeping brought us 2 old fans which we were seriously grateful for. Insufficient plug points in the 2 small rooms , meant that if we used the fans , the lampshades and mobile chargers had to be removed. Just a frustrating time spent inside . The outside was fabulous, the long walk down to the river is safely constructed but not advisable for the elderly. The wild-coast entry was free for Caribbean residents and we then cruised the river in the ferry as well as hired the speed boat. Good fun there.

We had a two bed roomed unit in Tortuga for a week and would definitely go back again. Comfortable, clean unit set in a very pleasant garden setting with access to a swimming pool. Furniture and TV need updating and unfortunately Wi-Fi is non existent. The estate gardens are immaculate and the walks to the river and the beach take you through the lush coastal foliage. Short drive to the Wild Coast Casino.
Staff , on all levels, were efficient and professional.

Stayed at Villa 6131 for 5 days at R5000 a night..what a huge disappointment .This villa needs a total revamp. Its old and dilapidated .we had to have a meeting with the Manager and Staff Supervisor to have the place cleaned on our arrival...no Covid sanitising was done.Had to get a handyman to rehang the front door..Also had a major water problem.Make sure you get pics of the villa you will vbe staying at..which we requested but was told to check the website which just show pics of the renovtated villas.I was told by the office that they only do the bookings on behalf of the owners.i will never go back to this place. We actually couldnt wait to go back home.Make sure you have your valuables locked away ..cleaning stuff definitely need training .Make sure you have your suitcase locked. Monkeys are a huge problem and you will have to stay locked up all day...paid premium rates for a most disappointed holiday.

This place makes no attempt to install alternate power supply during load shedding . Something small for lights & maybe a single plate stove (gas) or electric. I have been there on monday 16/01/2023 & one spell of load shedding was fm 15h00 until 19h30 (4,5 hours) been to other reputable resorts all accommodate the guest during load shedding . Management , is never around . Lady at front reception don't know ANYTHING . I will find out is her answer to anything & everything . Please don't waste your time and money. If you shower 2x per day ,you will get clean towels after every second day . Be prepared to wash your own towels. Should you have a problem be prepared to speak to security only to be told you must call the next day . SHAME

Was looking forward to a few days away from the city life.

Sadly on arrival at Caribbean Estates;
The architecture was archaic, the building constructed using cheap materials, the unit we received was poorly furnished with low cleanliness standards.
Not family or wheelchair friendly.
The resort was a clear reflection of poor Management.

On the upside we had a partial river view.

If you want a cheap and nasty getaway from the city, then I guess you get what you pay for.

I have booked here to celebrate my brother birthday. I invited guests and what a let down and disappointment is Carribean Estates.
1. No water
2. They do not inform u at reception or before u check in. So u may have the option of changing the resort.
3. Shower barely works and or trickles water.
4. Terrible.. If i wanted to rough my holiday i would have went camping!!!
