Coming back home from our ski trip (with a big group of 28 people, half children, half adults!!!), I can only say that this place is amazing. Every little detail from breakfast till dinner. Cleanliness, interiors, food, staff… The family that runs it is lovely, helpful and accommodating in every aspect! I would highly recommend it to everyone, and by the way…. We are booking it again for next year!

Overall we had a lovely time at Hotel Petrus. The staff were really kind and helpful, with special thanks to Paolo who was our main waiter during our stay. The hotel is extremely well located - a 2-3 minute drive by frequent minibus shuttle directly to the Kronplatz 1+2 ski lift, which is a c. 10 minute gondola lift ride up to the top of the Kronplatz ski area and gives access to 100km of marked piste. The hotel is also a 10 minute bus journey into the centre of the small and pretty city of Brunico and the hotel provides you with a free family bus ticket to use during your stay. Worth going to Brunico in December to see the Christmas market. The food is very good, particularly dinner, which is a five-course affair. We often had to pass on a few courses as it was too much to eat. The food is quite 'adult' but the hotel was very accommodating for our fussy 7 and 11 year olds and offered pasta with tomato sauce, bolognese for them. Breakfast was nice but for me as a skier I think I would prefer the option of a buffet just to be able to grab something quickly before hitting the slopes. We had a TAL family suite. About 30m2 in size with a separate room for the children. The room was quite warm and we asked a few times for the temperature to be turned down (it is controlled at reception, not in the room). A/C with controls in the room would have been preferable - we had to sleep with the window open but that meant that we had to get up early to block out the sound of cars / church bells. Very warm hotel rooms seems to be a feature of every hotel we've stayed in in the South Tyrol. We found removing the mattress toppers made the temperature while sleeping more tolerable. The kids bedroom had quite a lot of noise from the lift operating and the cleaning cupboard - fine for exhausted kids I guess? Equally the electric shutters - sometimes other guests were messing around quite late at night putting these up and down for quite a while and this made a loud noise / buzzing noise. The honesty tea / coffee is a nice idea but it was a bit of a faff to sometimes have to go to fill up the kettle and then wait for it to boil in the morning in your pyjamas - a small kettle, some tea bags and milk in the room would have been preferred by us when we woke up. The pool was at a great temperature at the start of our holiday but it became a bit cold towards the end. Finally, only two male WCs in the main part of the hotel (basement near boot room and in the spa). Sometimes both were occupied for long periods - a few more available for men to use would be good. The decoration of the hotel is first rate, some lovely furniture and the styling is very good. Really nice Christmas decorations too! In short: this is an extremely well positioned family-run hotel ideally located for the Kronplatz ski lifts. It doesn't offer as much entertainment for kids as some of the hotels we've stayed at in the area (Alpenhof in Maranza and Schwarzenstein in Lutago) - it is probably best suited for gourmet couples, families with very young children / babies or those with older / mature children. That said our kids did love it and asked if we could come back. Kronplatz is also a far larger ski area than Maranza / Vals or Speikboden / Klausberg, so as your children get older and want a larger ski area, it's definiltey worth giving this hotel serious consideration.

We were here as a band of ski brothers, second time..Beautiful family hotel, warm atmosphere, clean and relaxing spa, big and cosy rooms, very kind staff..food is absolutely amazing, for a plenty of Michelin stars...all owner's family is engaged in everyday service for all guests which is so cute...every day there is a small and charming gift or surprise, to confirm familiar spirit of this hotel...price is surprisingly fear for this level of service...only remark I had about pillow (I like more fluffy, I was shamed even to ask to replace it) but it was nothing in comparision with relaxing experiance during my holiday..frank recommendation to everyone, next winter we will be coming again with our wives and kids

Hotel Petrus is absolutely excellent. I don’t even know how to start the review… so let’s start the location- it is ca 2-3 minutes drive from double gondola lift that will take you at the top of Kronplatz. Worth mentioning is that the hotels ski bus is really big and comfortable with easy access to all seats and retractable step for easy in and out. Ski room is big with plenty of seating, a lot of boot heaters and ski racks. Rooms are really comfortable well equipped and smartly designed- we stayed in a relatively small room and as a family of four we had enough place for all our luggage. SPA is absolutely fantastic - big pool with indoor and outdoor part and big leisure area. There is planty of saunas (I think 5 or 6), relax rooms and all of that is beautifully designed and really well kept. Food is on a different level - it is fantastic - a Michelin star level. But the best is hotel’s team - everybody is very friendly and helpful, at the restaurant all the meals are served super quickly and people working there do all they can to make you feel like home. It is a family run hotel and you can feel it everywhere at Petrus - attention to details, quality and atmosphere is just perfect. 🥇👍

We really loved staying here. The family that owns the hotel were lovely and made a real effort to make you feel welcome and taken care of. The pool and yard were both really beautiful. Dinner and breakfast were both included in the room rates and were delicious. This was one of our favorite places we stayed during our tour of the Italian Dolomites. I highly recommend!

This place came as a big surprise for me. We haven't been planning to go to South Tyrol, yet due to early instable situation with Covid regulations between the countries, a few days before start of our planned vacations we've realized that our booking in Austria Alps won't suite the needs and is difficult to accept, hence a quick search of "something nice and family friendly, and on Italian side" led me to seeing this on booking. I've made a quick call to the hotel, to clarify my understanding of Covid regulations in Italy, and while speaking to them, I've got the offer for upcoming holidays - and the offer was truly great! Room, 3/4 pension, parking, etc - and just 4hrs drive away. The place is great, with outstanding friendly staff which operates perfectly, and with no less impressive and outstanding food service! While many of mountain hotels aka "Alpine lifestyle" are much the same in their offerings, I found a couple of very distinctive things which I've only seen at Petrus: - Walk with the dog offer, where the local family dog is "leased" for a few hours for a scenery hike around - Fresh mineral water available at the each floor of the hotel, where you just go and refill the carafe or your bottles. This was spot on, ultra convinient and healthy. - The massage offer for kids, in parallel to a parent. This was another unique thing, which our kid liked a lot and we went a couple of times. - There is multi-dish creative kids menu every dinner, with healthy tasting choices, which is much welcome thing and navigating away from usual so called "kids food" like fries, pizza and other fast food which unfortunately we see too often in the hotels. - The Spa and wellness facilities are split level, allowing kids to be next to the pool and even have a bio sauna and jacuzzi available next to it, while the main sauna complex is one floor down for adults only experience. This isn't particularly unique, yet having bio sauna with moderate heat available for kids is very cool and rare treat. The nature around was breathtaking, Spa and wellness facilities were amazing and it was 1st time in my travel life where I've actually cancelled another stay we had planned elsewhere, in favor to extend our stay at Petrus (btw, amazing flexibility by reception). We were left truly impressed and already booked the next stay within 2022 - and that's the best testament for hotel quality and service :)

We stayed at the Petrus for six nights in September. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room (and bed) was very comfortable and had a large balcony with view towards Kronplatz mountain and the corn fields surrounding the hotel. The breakfast and dinner were of high quality. We sampled the afternoon snack every day sitting outside on the deck - soup, salad and cake. My wife's gluten-free diet was accommodated with appropriate dishes for each meal. The breakfast buffet and evening salad buffet were not available because of COVID health precautions. We appreciated the safety measures employed by the hotel and the staff. The hotel helped organize our PCR test in Brunico so we could return to Canada at the end of our stay. We enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool and spa facilities. We made great use of the South Tirol transport card taking the local bus (bus stop a three-minute walk from the hotel) and train to other villages in the Pustertal valley for hiking. We would return in the winter to ski.

We stayed in Petrus for 5 nights, and to start with the conclusion: within this formula I can not see room for improvement. It was really excellent, in every detail. And there were a lot of details. Rooms are large, clean and tasteful. There are little notes everywhere with tips, practically every day something extra is put in the rooms (like chocolates or a pine pillow). This shows that the hotel is in control, is able to take the next step to make you feel at home and also to keep surprising you. There is a great pool (inside and outside), a reasonable gym (not my personal taste, but again very well thought of) and a spa (we didn't try the spa). WIFI is stable. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I really took some time from them, but is was always with a smile. What stroke us most is the daily activities programme. It varies from biking, hiking, to going to the market. About 5-6 activities daily, very well explained in a folder. Again: great eye for detail. About the food we were also positive: every day the menu changes and every day small adjustments are made to breakfast as well, keeping it interesting. Straightforward food with sometimes a (big) plus, always with all tastes in balance. It shows the skills of the kitchen staff and it was a pleasure to eat here . Great wine list, good wine suggestions every evening (not too many wines by the glass though). The pace of serving is good. No improvements? As said, within this formula and given this price - quality balance I can not think of any. I would surely recommend and I would strongly consider returning (already next year). Cum laude!

I spent 4 days in this hotel with my family and it has been an amazing experience! The quality of the food is excellent, they have a 3/4 board, breakfast salty and sweet, from 3-5 there is a snack with salads and home made cakes, one better the other, and dinner with 5 course meals! They also have a really nice spa, different types of saunas and a big swimming pool half indoor and half outdoor where you can enjoy the amazing landscape. Close to the hotel there are plenty of activities to do and the staff is always so kind to help you and organize everything for you. They have a lot of attention to the client and they add a personal touch on everything they do.

Their careful attention to gluten intolerant and celiac guests brought us to their family run business. After four days of half board, we went away with mixed reviews... The daily afternoon snack from 3-5 PM was very good. However, many smokers were intermingled with non smokers on the terrace. Dinner was exceptional! It is rare to have such consistently superior quality dinners at even a four star hotel. Dinner service was much better than breakfast. The Hotel Petrus dinners are comparable to Michelin one and two star restaurants. Outstanding areas: Baked goods; the room decor, quality materials, color matching, lighting, firm bed, dead quiet floors and doors, pool, hot tub, general grounds and sauna areas. However: Chipped glasses, carafe and dirty dishes. Breakfast service was poor, and we weren't informed what was available to order beyond the initial servings. Staff were noisily setting up for the next meal. After a talk with the owner, breakfast service improved. At 8-10 AM, loud machine noises and loud music from the underground parking garage below our window. Although a do not disturb sign on our door at 1045, housekeeping knocks and tells us this is her last room to clean, so we vacated early for her. Flies in the breakfast/dining room. Hotel Petrus has tremendous potential and, with some minor tweaks, could be a world class experience. Overall, a really superior hotel that needs to at least meet, and hopefully exceed expectations in not just some, but all areas.
