Hotel in the historic center of Morella and where you cannot park within the walls. The hitel has some parking spaces in a building a 5-minute walk away and for about €9. We left the car in one of the squares.
The hotel is simple but comfortable. It has a cafeteria and a terrace on the sidewalk. The price is with half board dinner and breakfast and is good in quantity and variety.
The room was not large but sufficient although you could hear the water running from the adjoining bathroom.
Staff very nice and attentive.
Comfortable beds.

We found the stay to be good, the restaurant service was good, breakfast was quite varied and varied, lunch and dinner were also served at the table. Another thing was the room, everything was going well until we made the bed, because there were some stains on the top sheet, which we left visible to see if they would change them the next day and they didn't change the sheet, in short, bad. .

Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a very welcoming receptionist . Nothing was too much trouble . We arrived at ten minutes before the dining room closed at 10pm but they stayed open and we had a very tasty Three course meal

The waiters /bar staff were all very attentive and professional

The only remarkable thing about the hotel is its location, very central, the rest is lousy. Bad smells in the bathroom, cleanliness justice, attention at the reception of newbies and no clear ideas about anything, nor notice that you have to ask for the air conditioning control or any help in any question you may raise. They never know anything.
Worst of all, though, was breakfast. No natural, poor quality food, even flies in fresh and tableclothed food without changing between diner and diner. Makes you want to fast.
It doesn't meet any minimum.

We spent a few days in Morella at the beginning of November '23. I'm not going to discover Morella or its surroundings, but I would like to talk about the hotel. Very worthy for 3*, very professional and collaborative staff at reception, dining room, bar, etc. and having booked half board we had the opportunity to enjoy a varied and abundant breakfast and excellent food. I didn't hesitate to congratulate the cook.

Pleasant sporting stay for those who know how to treat a large group of athletes (runners, in this case).
Spacious and decent rooms, decent bathroom, comfortable bed.
Welcome with juices and morning coffee before the opening of the breakfast room.
Very patient even with children.
Courtesy water in the fridge always available.
Stay to be repeated.

The hotel is very well located, simple and comfortable. The room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very complete.
The only downside is that the bathroom smelled a bit like sewage and there was little ventilation.
Nice and attentive staff.
We will be back!

We stayed for one night only, mid-week in May, at the Rey Don Jaime and had a perfect stay. Had we known how wonderful Morella and this hotel are, we would have planned to stay at least one night more. We were two couples. Our rooms on the 3rd floor were delightful. They had small balconies which opened on to a view of the surrounding countryside which took our breath away. There were mountains all around, with swifts and birds of prey flying high overhead.

The rooms were extremely comfortable with good décor using local textiles. Details such as the wrought iron latches on the shutters and attractive pictures added to the charm. The bathrooms were great. We used the air-conditioning for a short while and it worked efficiently and quietly. The breakfast buffet was delicious, varied and plentiful and the receptionist who spoke English was obliging and helpful.

I am coeliac (celiac) and need a gluten-free diet. I didn’t inform the hotel in advance, as we were only staying one night. I took my own gluten-free bread with me and the hotel was happy to use it to make a sandwich for me at lunch time in their cafeteria. Two restaurants in Morella are recommended by the local coeliac association, so gluten-free travellers are well served in this town.

Morella is a wonderful historic town with museums, a park with fantastic vistas over the surrounding mountains and interesting shops selling local foods and handicrafts. The air is clean, the surrounding countryside peaceful and it is just a great place to visit.

We very much hope to return one day, for a longer stay at the Rey Don Jaime.

Please Note: The review below [dated 14 August 2010, headed “Dump”] describes a DIFFERENT hotel. The Rey Don Jaime, Morella, is 3000 feet up in the mountains 60 km from the sea. It does not have a pool or a beach and it certainly isn’t a dump. I have asked Tripadvisor to remove this incorrectly posted review three times – without success.

We were so impressed with Morella. It awed us as we rounded the corner of the road and spotted the fortress atop the hill in a beautiful setting.
The hotel was just fine, the rooms were suitable and clean, the price was reasonable, the air conditioning worked, the beds were firm and comfortable. We didn't eat at the hotel because we were exploring the town. We asked for a room with a nice view and we were obliged--great view of the valley!

in september we visit for first time aragon province in spain and choose rey don jaime hotel even as 3 star. what a shock after an hour driving through empty aragon area - morella is a great boutique village or better version of san marino and hotel was just perfect - a fair money value. people in morella are 100% different than people in barcelona. looking forward to visit aragon again in 2012, highly recomended
