2nd time staying here, in the exact same villa, and it was everything that we remembered from the first time. Sand fleas were a little bit worse this time, but hey, it's nature, what can you do. A great deal for the location, cant be beat.

Have stayed here for four years. The beach is very well maintained (to deal with sand flies); there is great shade and very friendly staff - the service is good and friendly (island time standard). The biggest negative is the food selection, esp. at breakfast is limited

We love the Sunday Brunch at Island Pearl. It is really the best we've found on the island so far! Not only is the food fantastic, but the all you can drink champagne is a nice bonus! Great place to just chill and enjoy a Sunday Brunch. Highly recommend.

Highly recommended. If you don't already know, this is an area within Bananarama Dive Resort (took me a while to figure this out as I was researching). We stayed Jan. 17-24 and I’m already trying to figure out how soon we can get back to Island Pearl! I travel for work and tend

Response from Bananarama03, General Manager at Island Pearl

Thanks for your very thorough review of the Island Pearl. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and that we met your expectations. I find that the majority of people that come to Island Pearl knowing what it is all about tend to be very satisfied with their experience. And it is exactly as you describe it - a charming beach front resort with lots of personality! It's also helpful to have some feedback about the guys from Roatan Tours, who are located within the confines of Bananarama as well. Pinky definitely goes out of his way to make the guests feel welcome. Please be sure to contact us before your next visit to Roatan so we can make all the necessary arrangements to provide you with another great experience!

I can not add more to the review I already wrote about how much I love this place. It is not for everyone as stated, (see "laid back gem") but it fits our needs to a "t". My husband and son love the diving and say it is the best dive operation they have dove with. (50+

Sorry,we neve take the meal plan. Have have the breakfast before the boys go diving and then eat around the beach including Thirsty Turtle for lunch and supper. We average about $25-30 per person a day for those, drinks excluded. They supply water in the villa and if you want to go to a market there is one at the end of the driveway to supply pop/chips etc. hope this helps. I also take crackers with peanut butter and cookies down in case the boys want a snack after diving. They are always starving when they get back. Food is good at the Turtle and they have good specials.

Are beach chairs available on the beach?
I also took a chair up on my porch the day we had rain as I found the chairs there were just a little too hard to sit on for long. My son lived in the hammock if he wasn't in the ocean or diving. He loved the free wifi and would post all his dive videos while swinging in it, such a hard life!

All the units at the Island Pearl are very close to one another. The beach front and beach side units sit side by side and are separated by maybe 30'. I am going to assume unit 28 is the Owners Villa and it is located above the restaurant. Great tree house feel with hands down our favorite patio. It too is roughly the same distance behind the beach side villas, but it is parallel to the beach where as the beach side and beach front units run perpendicular to the beach. Think of those five units forming a "U" shape with unit 28 being the bottom of the "U", the others being the sides. So, after rambling on there, they are all very close to one another. We usually occupy three of them when our family goes and we can communicate with one another from our patios with ease. Great choice!

"Room #28 has an awesome rustic mosaic shower in the room with a separate toilet room. The AC kicks!!!"
"I think they all look good. We liked #27."
"Beach side and beach front villas are exact same layout/size, so if you are debating, the beach front villas are literally 30 steps from the beach, but the beach side villas are amazing as well and about 60 steps from the beach."
"Beach side and front are both great from the looks of it"
"Ask for Villa #25 which is right on the beach and has a great view of the ocean and sunsets."
