We enjoyed the space of all the rooms and also the lovely view over the mountains. Unfortunately the one bedroom's linen was not changed after the last quests. The same room was smelling as if a dog or cat was sleeping in the room. The parking was also a problem and quests have to park in tandem. Suggest that something has to be done with the parking. Otherwise very nice place to stay.

Bed and bathroom were clean, but the kitchen needs a serious cleaning! Everything was sticky. Looks like the place wasn't cleaned for months.
The lady was very nice and friendly.
The place was a short walk to town.

It was self service.
The rooms were good.
The reception was hearty.
I liked the location as well as advice from the hostess.
The only thing that can improve for me is the kitchen sink is not really suitable to wash dishes.

If I could give them a -5 stars, I would. I booked an apartment for my family of 5 for one week through Expedia. I've used Expedia for many things before and have never had a problem...until this. I arrive at the property, where I see this huge house (I had rented a 1 bedroom apartment). We flew to another country therefore my phone does not work. Fortunately, the owner was nice and let me know their property was not for rent. He let me log onto their internet so I could email Expedia. I drove out of my way to a relative's home (thank goodness I had that option). I called Expedia, who transferred me to Homeaway. 5 people later and over 2 1/2 hours on the phone and still, their solution is to wait 7-10 days for a possible refund and to call them again tomorrow. I explained every single time that I do not have a phone to make phone calls but get the same "apologies call us tomorrow." Be careful for other sites that link themselves to Homeaway. It has been horrible and I can't imagine this happening to someone who is in another country and can't make a call! Avoid them at all costs!

Our experience at the “Casa rural La Antigua Tahona - Candelario”(Salamanca) hosted by Elena and Pedro, far exceeded our expectations. The home was situated on a lovely street near the main square, and a huge/clean public pool was within walking distance. Right on the property of the pool was an amazing restaurant and bar with delicious food. However, the casa rural was so well stocked with food, we hardly needed to leave to eat! Elena and Pedro provided everything one would want for an amazing vacation. The quantity of delicious hams, cheeses, and fresh fruit, among many other items, was incredible. Furthermore, Pedro and Elena both provided their cell phone numbers and happily assured us that they were accessible if needed 24/7. They were the nicest couple, and in turn, gave us the nicest vacation experience!

We booked a villa in Alcudia back in May through HomeAway for next Summer. This was the first time we’d booked through HomeAway and was confident as they had a Book with Confidence Guarantee - what a joke! We paid our £500 deposit and was looking forward to our holiday next summer. I received an email this morning simply stating that “your booking has been cancelled and you have been refunded”
I checked online and could see that the property was still showing availability for our dates....but over double the price!! I contacted HomeAway and they basically said there was nothing they could do as it was up to the owners and they can cancel up to 30 days before you travel! Rubbish Service, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Do not use these..they have cancelled my booking made in August last year at the last minute now in January and are wriggling saying they only are an advertising agency .they took over 150euro service fee and their book with confidence guarantee is a total lie..they offered 3 alternatives to our lovely apartment with roof terrace in fanabe. The first 2 turned out to be the same apartment in a resort miles away playa parasol.the third was even worse as it was a cabin in the middle of a banana plantation!!! If it wasnt so serious it would be laughable..after a telephone rant at them guess what..i haven't been contacted again..17 days before going away to Tenerife and they cancel .try and Rebook at the last minute with someone anyone and it has cost nearly a thousand pounds more....anyone reading this take this warning totally and utterly serious.aparently we are not the first for this to happen to through homeaway..you are warned !

HomeAway Book with Confidence Guarantee™ from HomeAway® is nothing. The customer service representatives I have spoken to were useless. The property manager is nonresponsive and I am taking them to small claims court. HomeAway has been zero help. They say work it out with the property manager. The PM knows they are lying to me and refuse to refund my money. They stopped answering the emergency numbers and emails.

It a really good deal to book a house in home away. 3 bed room and 2 bath with pool. Cozy comfortable. Only do not like the deposit for security. Hopefully it can link to credit card to security issue like hotel

The property itself was lovely, with a few minor issues. The smoke alarm kept beeping throughout the stay, and the door handle/lock to the balcony was broken--something that the property was aware of, as the host told me about it when I checked in. It was not only inconvenient but also left me feeling less secure as the door would frequently open either during the night or when I came home.

But the biggest reason I cannot recommend this property is the rather less than smooth experience with the property management of HomeAway. I had requested to arrive at the property 1 hour before check-in, but apparently my request was never communicated to the person meeting me, which resulted in me standing outside in the rain for 1 hour with my bags after an international flight. When the host did get there, apparently the cleaners neglected to leave the set of keys behind and it took some more time to figure out what to do. And for all this inconvenience, there no attempt was made to offer any reparations.

To top it all off, I am still waiting to hear about an unauthorized charge to my credit card AFTER my stay. I have emailed about it and even after almost a week, they have still not been able to offer an explanation.

Over-all, very poor service. Stick to that other property sharing site.
