My wife and I had the pleasure to stay over for two nights when we were in Tulbagh. The Features of the units are true to the Cape Dutch Style and makes you feel like you are staying in the 1800s again. The location is central to a lot of things, easy to get to the shops and many restaurants to choose from nearby. We took a drive out to the Waterfall Nature Reserve which is a must see in Tulbagh. We also just took one full day of exploring the beautiful area of Tulbagh and surroundings and had a lovely soft and spacious bed to come home to after our day out. The Cottage we stayed in had a queen size bed with an on-suite bathroom. There was a small lounge section to relax in. Just outside our door was a beautiful courtyard with a table and stools to sit and have a coffee with a lush green view of the garden. If you want to experience Tulbagh and it's beautiful History and have a central location to move from, then this is a must stay. The views from the top deck of the building is also marvellous. a trip to the Kitchen Gardens is also recommended!

This was a really disappointing experience for me. I booked a specific room directly on this establishment's website only to find at arrival that I was provided a dark, poky room, completely different to the one I had booked - the receptionist (Charmaine) did not have the courtesy to advise me that the room I booked had been given to someone else until I queried it. In terms of the room I eventually received, the description on the hotel's website indicates that the room has a tv, dstv and a turn-down service - none of which were provided. Breakfast was equally disappointing - terrible coffee, spurious juice and no covid protocols in place with condiments and utensils being utilised by all guests on a communal table. The owner made a half-hearted attempt to make amends for the room confusion which was apparently caused by a system error but by then the experience was already soured for me.

We loved our stay right in the heart of the historic center of Tulbagh. It is a big advantage to be able to walk to most of the museums and restaurants. Perfect base to explore the many wine farms in the area.

We stayed here by accident as the opposite Hotel was closed and it turned out to be one of our best stays in SA. The premises consist out of several heritage protected cape-dutch houses. All are splendidly furnished by a the very engaged owners - of whom one is actually a historian. All rooms have a different theme, yet all perfectly put together. There is even an Art Deco apartment which could just become a filmset. We stayed in the honeymoon flat which features a stunning colonial style and has a beautiful seating area just in front of it - facing the quiet church street which again is lined with heritage protected houses and gardens. The breakfast is served in a big communal dining hall where the guest can connect ! Altogether, a perfect experience !!!
