We had a very enjoyable stay at Guinevere Guest Farm. William gave us a warm welcome, followed by a very informative and interesting talk on the production of wine from their wine farm and we enjoyed tasting the various wines. The accommodation was top class, and there were many excellent paintings adorning the walls of the rooms. Our room was very spacious with beautiful sized bed, cosy down duvets and amazing views of the mountains surrounding Tulbagh valley. We were very warm and comfortable although it was quite chilly outside after sundown. Really gave us a chance to unwind, and go for a few walks in the peaceful countryside. At the outset let me say that we drew the short straw, the worst room in the place which maybe clouded my judgement. The other rooms we looked at were spectacular compared to ours, which was aptly named "The Dormitory" A double bed in 1 corner with three single bunk beds in a row down one wall. No cupboards but a door leading on to a glass fronted enclosed balcony with a comfortable couch. It was wonderful to sit and contemplate the view. The high ceilings would most probably be a godsend on a stifling hot summers day but all looked rather spartan and bare when we were there in spring. The bathroom whilst adequate did not compare to the marble luxury finish of the other rooms and it was obvious that this room was designed for kids rather than us as grandparents. It is difficult

Truly a hidden gem. We were looked after well - loved the breakfasts and the dinners. Rooms are massive with lovely views. Highly recommended for a quiet weekend away. the area is great for walks, cycling, birdlife - we even had owls having dinner on our balcony in the early hours of the morning.
