On offer at this neat working farm with wheat, vines, olives, sheep and cattle are 3 luxury self-catering cottages all fronted by an open vista of green fields merging into blue mountains – an appealing contrast of the soft and rugged. The cottages are light and airy, fully equipped and decorated in natural hues and textures. Wide windows and double doors drench the interior in light, terracotta floors inject the rustic country edge, offset by warm sisal mats, natural cream curtains, crisp white linen and thick duvets. All have indoor fireplaces, making for cozy winters in a corner of the world where snow on the nearby mountains isn't uncommon. On the other hand, if you’re dropping in during the summer months you’ll be thrilled to know the units have air-con and overhead fans, as well as easy access to a swimming pool (with lapa).

We had a lovely 3 night stay. The cottage was very spacious and had all the basic necessities you would not expect from a self catering place. The ceiling fans was a huge plus as it was very warm our first two days. The beds are very comfortable. We will definitely be returning f

We stayed at Eikelaan for a weekend-getaway with our two boys, aged 3 and 5. The cottage is lovely and has everything you need. Even though we were a bit worried about being in close proximity to the other guests, we did have privacy and the kids really enjoyed the pool and the p

Friendly reception and service. The cottage is well equipped with quality furniture. Love the spacious rooms and big windows with beautiful views, and the shop with farm produce. Can I suggest a ramp for easier access onto the stoep and into the cottage.

I want to expose my kids to a working farm. What animal do you farm and are the kids allowed to help with feedings etc.
Do the cottages have aircon. It must get very hot there in Jan/Feb
All our cottages have air conditioning.

Which cottages have the best view? We are only 2 people and was thinking of Obiqua or the Witzenburg cottage? Your advice?
Dear Yvette, All our cottages have magnificent views of the surrounding country side and mountains.. You cannot go wrong with the Witzenberg if it only for 2 of you. Kind regards Lynette Fourie Eikelaan Farm Cottages Tulbagh

"Our cottage was a bit away of the rest and the farmhouse and if you are looking for privacy I will recommend asking for this one."
"IF you have children, rather take the room close to the swings. But think this is a 1 bedroom cottage."
"Both rooms are great plus 2 single beds in living are for kids"
"All rooms are perfect"
"Witzenberg cottage is good when you have kids...you can see them play on the swings and jungle gym from the bedroom & lounge windows"
