We stayed here on New Year's Eve and were impressed with the quiet and consideration of the other guests. The room (no 2) was spacious, clean and contained a bar fridge. The only hitch was the patchy internet coverage in the room but there was full strength on the landing close to the booster device.

This is a no frills value for money stay with a scrumptious breakfast thrown in. Your check-in and check-out are conducted in a friendly yet professional manner and I would not hesitate using this establishment again in the future.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the Witzenberg. Is was a pleasure to host you and we hope that we will see you again in future and that you will tell your friends and family about us! The internet can be patchy some times, especially when there is a wind or clouds and some times other disturbances we do not realise at the time. So sorry that you had to struggle with that! Wishing you all the best. Witzenberg Country Inn Team.

Andrew and Nan provide us with a warm welcome, lovely clean and spacious rooms and a hearty breakfast (for those of us that eat breakfast :) ). We go back for a few days a month when working in the area and always look forward to it, knowing we will have an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended to anyone passing through the lovely town of Tulbagh.

Lovely period hotel frequented by many locals. Staff friendly and efficient. He rooms are spacious, neat and clean. On site restaurant has a great variety of foods on the menu to cater for all.
I will definitely stay there again

Huge dissapointment! Ordered the Banting Burger which specified that the burger came on a big pan fried mushroom with two slices of bacon and cheese. 40 min later (we were the only people in the reataurant) burger arrived with tiny portion of chopped up button mushrooms, and one slice of cheese. When questioned on the whereabouts of the big fried mushroom, I was told the local Spar did not supply that type of mushroom anymore! Surely the waitress should have communicated this upfront otherwise I would have ordered another burger without the buns. When i asked the Chef/ Manager about the missing slice of cheese i was told i had misread the menu which states " 2 slices of bacon and cheese". Really? The attitude of the Chef/ Manager was not apologetic at all. I was given the option of ordering something else but hardly worth waiting another 40min for another dissapointment. We will never go there again.

My daughter and I spent Easter weekend in Tulbach and stayed at this lovely little Inn. Thumbs up to the owners Nan and Andrew Buttle. The place is very well maintained. Comfortable beds, great linen and the best breakfast in town.

If you are looking to escape the city life to go and relax somewhere, then this is the place. The Inn is within walking distance to all the main restaurants and shops in town and also in close proximity to Riebeeck Kasteel and Ceres, offering all travellers plenty to see.

Thank you for the great hospitality.

We had 2 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tulbagh. It's possibly off the tourist trail but well worth a visit . The hotel is in a great location, very quiet and within walking distance of restaurants and the lovely Kerk Street with the beautiful Cape Dutch buildings that have been restored following the 1969 earthquake.

We were made to feel very welcome by the owners.

We had a choice of rooms (it was very quiet at the time) and opted for a suite which gave us plenty of space.

The breakfast was lovely, particularly the fresh fruit.

I would certainly recommend a visit to Tulbagh with a stay at this lovely characterful Inn.

Tulbagh is situated approximately 1hour drive from Cape Town. Now there's alot of places to stay in this beautiful town but I opted for something close to town centre and accessible. What better place than Witzenberg Country Inn.

Apart from its already affordable rates I received a further discount on their Winter special which is great in these tough economic times. I was quite in a hurry on check in so I barely noticed that the WiFi password was on the key holder which I discovered an hour before checking out.

It's beautifully set just a street away from the town's main road. The road in front is/was under construction so I had to park elsewhere. The rooms are spotless, with air-conditioned rooms and clean sheets and tv.

My (affordable rate) included a breakfast which is prepared to your needs. The dining area has wooden floors so its quite noisy when you pull out your chair seeing that the room is quite empty around breakfast time.

As mentioned earlier that I barely noticed the WiFi password on the key holder I must say for the few minutes I was on it was extremely efficient. There's also a nice bar on the premises with sports channels if you want to catch up on the weekends sports.

Witzenberg Country Inn feels more like home than a hotel. The staff add a personal touch to everything they do for you and you can easily taken away by the beautiful portraits of lighthouse and sailing boats.

Not your average 5 or 4 star hotel but quite unique in its own sense.

We stayed at the Witzenberg Inn for one night only and were pleasantly surprised by the little details that make guests like us come back for a second visit: Candles in the bathroom and on bedside tables, magazines, a large dressing table with good mirror, sweets on our pillows, mosquito spray (not that there were any). You could feel that somebody really thought about how to make it as nice as possible for the guests. We also liked that the Witzenberg Country Inn is an old Bed and Breakfast that has probably been around for a little. It is not modern or fancy, but full of character and charm with a proper old-school bar where locals visit frequently. Our room was very very spacious and could easily accommodate a family of four. Unfortunately we did not get a taste of their breakfast, but who knows, maybe next time?!

I had an enjoyable stay at the Witzenberg Country Inn this week.

The manager and staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome & comfortable. The room was very clean and spacious. A delicious and value-for-money breakfast at their restaurant downstairs.

I will certainly be happy to stay there again on my next trip away in Tulbagh.

The only suggestion I would make is to have a small bar fridge in the room. I drink a lot of water during the night and prefer to have cold water. The food was more than enough and very good!! It is also closely situated to everything so we walked to Church Street and to town.

"First ask to see the rooms and then make your choice..make sure there is a hairdryer, soap, shampoo, towels, a decent shower/ bath etc before making your choice..and ask for a quiet room if you have no children..the floors are wooden in the passage so you will hear kids running etc if you just want to have a good nights rest."
