Travellers' Choice
The hotel is centrally-located and conveniently placed to explore the town with its historic Church Street and many other attractions and amenities. The main hotel building dates from 1859 & offers a range of contemporary-styled luxurious rooms. The Winterhoek Manor(1813) and the Toll House(1809), adjacent to the main building, are two of the heritage properties in Church Street, offering charming period rooms. Individual decor and fine cotton linen adorn four poster beds. Chandeliers on yellowwood beamed ceilings. The Honeymoon Suite is the jewel in our crown. Crafted from the old wagon shed, this suite oozes romantic charm. Open thatch, two fireplaces, bath and shower for two. There are three pool areas, free Wi-Fi throughout and an in-house beauty therapist. All areas have air conditioning and there are cosy wood-burning fires for winter evenings. Tulbagh is just over an hours drive from Cape Town, nestled at the foot of the Winterhoek and Obiqua Mountains in the heart of the Cape Winelands.

Dear Sherry many thanks for your valued support and review. We are very fortunate to have a great team, in all departments, and without exception. During these very difficult times, I have been very impressed by the resilience and dedication of the staff, and in no small part this is the result of a caring and dedicated management team, lead by Liana for the past 11 years. We look forward to seeing you soon. Alasdair

Had the most wonderful early valentines midweek getaway with my hubby. Lounging at the pool before dinner with a G&T was fantastic way to start the evening. The whole experience was great from the friendly hostess to the elegant room and delicious dinner at the restaurant. Not even loadshedding could damper our spirits. Friendly and helpful staff Elegant and clean rooms and facilities Tasty food Will definitely recommend it to other couples.

The TUlbagh Boutique hotel is a small town hotel located in the town of Tulbagh. Located in the heart of the village, the rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and very clean - especially important during COVID. The restaurant at the hotel is one of the best in the valley - we ate both dinner and breakfast there, and both were amazing. Since it is in a fruit producing area, the salads and fresh fruit are divine! The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to be kind and friendly. They also have secured, free parking. A big thumbs up!

Hi Worldtraveller thank you for taking the time to leave your valued review. As you mention the Tulbagh Valley is very productive, harvesting a wide range of fruits and vegetables, which we incorporate into our seasonal menus. As many visitors haven’t tasted wine grapes, we also make sorbets from some of the varieties grown in the valley, like chardonnay, pilotage and shiraz. Hope to welcome you back soon Alasdair

A perfect location for a Tulbagh experience. This hotel is located in the heart of the town between many historical sites, restaurants, bars, cafes and a theatre across the road. The hotels restaurant "Olive Terrace" is one of my favs in the area. The hotel has COVID protocols in place and the staff are well trained around these measures. The staff are absolutely incredible, they are engaging, enthusiastic, hardworking and professional. Many recognized and acknowledge us form our previous stays. We love experiencing your different rooms, each one has its unique character and a common thread of luxury. The pool is of a good standard, highly maintained and offers great food and beverage services while lounging at the pool. Absolutely love this Gem of a place in the Tulbagh region!

My wife and I stayed at the Tulbagh Boutique hotel for 1 night and were privileged to stay in their amazing honeymoon suite. The suite is huge, extremely comfortable and has a splash pool just outside. We were in the heart of Summer so the aircon and pool were most welcoming. The room has 2 fireplaces as well, so we are keen to return in Winter too. Check in was a breeze with very friendly staff. We had dinner at breakfast at the hotel and menu was adequate with attentive staff again in attendance. Because we visited during a level 3 lockdown no alcohol could be served but one could have some delicious mocktails. Staff were masked up so we felt safe. Overall, a really great stay and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the very special town of Tulbagh.

Dear Brendan many thanks for your visit and kind review. As you mention our Honeymoon Suite at anytime of the year. In summer the air con and thick stone walls keep you cool in side, and the splash pool in the Fynbos garden are on your doorstep. The 2 fireplaces, one in the bathroom, make the suite a haven for romantics in winter. Many guests book the Honeymoon Suite to celebrate their anniversaries and birthdays. We look forward to welcoming you back in winter. Best wishes Alasdair
