My partner and I booked Ruby Star the 10th to 12th January 2020.
The cottage was very well laid out, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits were supplied and more than enough wood were supplied for the braai and hot tub. Even the braai and hot tub was prepared with neatly stacked wood to just light up.
The cottage was found super clean, and we immediately felt very welcome and at home.
Very quiet and tranquil!
We will definitely visit again soon.

We went there for Xmas for 3 nights, which is what e do every year. However this was our first time here. Upon arrival I was immediately impressed by all the extra little touches. The braai fire was all set up and ready to light. The wood fired heater in the hot tub was also all set up and ready to go. There was a welcome message on the bed made of rose petals. The cottage was very cleverly designed to maximise the use of space and all the fixtures and fittings were of excellent quality. The view was to die for, On Xmas morning the very friendly owners arrived with a bottle of MCC for us. Another nice touch. We are definitely going back.

Wonderful location with beautiful mountain views. We were staying in the Laetitia cottage which has a beautiful rustic and industrial esthetic which feels just right in this cozy cottage. It just makes you feel like relaxing. The service was excellent, not to mention, everywhere that you could make fire the wood and fire starters were already setup for you. We could basically start a braai and get into the wood fired hot tub with little effort as everything was already there. The next morning upon waking all the coals were removed and fresh fire wood was placed in all areas that we used, that was a great touch and amazing attention to detail as far as the service is concerned. I can definitely highly recommend this place if you are looking for a lovely escape from the city for a couples retreat.

Three bedroom, ideally located with loads of room so you never feel in anyone's way. Superhost, who communicates well and even provides WhatsApp alerts on things to do and offers. Super safe place too with breathtaking, vast views. The place is well stocked with essentials like tea and coffee in case you forget yours (we didn't!), And all the pots n pans and crockery you will need. Check out was as simple and easy as check in. My partner and I enjoyed an absolutely relaxing stay at Bergsicht's Lady Red cottage. The cottage had all the amenities one could want, the linen was of a heavenly high quality and the shower was divine. We spent far more time on our little stoep (patio) than indoors though, either sitting reading, or relaxing in the hot tub. We enjoyed long walks around the farm and the fact that we could have a dip in the cold pool/hot tub after. We really loved the attention to detail in the decor and the clever use of upcycled products. Would highly recommend a stay here!

What a beautiful place. It has everything you need and more. The cottage is perfectly maintained and super clean inside. The setting overlooking the orchid is amazing and tranquil. The attention to detail is really good. The hot tub is in perfect working condition, also clean and excellently maintained. I struggle to sleep on different beds and the matrass was so comfortable I slept like a baby. The shower head is perfect height and force and always hot water. I love the place.

We stayed in the "Sunburst" cottage at Bergsicht for three nights. The cottage itself ranks amongst the very best for us, in terms of how well it is equipped and all the thoughtful extras that are not normally provided in self-catering accommodation. A bag of ice was in the fridge, fires had been laid in the braai area and in the fireplace in the lounge. A good supply of firewood, kindling and starters was available to us as at no extra cost. Each day the braai/barbeque grill was taken away and replaced with a clean one. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed linen was crisp and fresh. The list goes on. We would certainly stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending Bergsicht to any would be visitors to the Tulbagh area.

This being our second trip to Bergsicht we knew what we were in for .......and we were treated to another fantastic experience!!!!!
The hosts have made sure that our stay would be great.........
The cottage is beautifully decorated and amazingly appointed, the attention to detail is fantastic (everything has been thought of from every barbecue utensil down to mosquito spray, bug spray and mosquito candles for outside. All very important in the Tulbagh summer!)
Nice large and comfortable bed with beautiful white linen.
As for the splash pool/hot tub - SUBLIME! And the views while sitting in said pool are simply exquisite!
The hosts have made sure that our stay would be great.........

We can absolutely recommend Bergsicht Country Cottages for a lovely couples retreat. The contactless check-in worked seamlessly and we were well informed and taken care of.
We spent two nights at the Lady Red cottage. Upon arrival it was spotlessly clean, beautiful and well appointed with lots of extra touches to make it feel special. We loved that your first fires were prepared for you.
The view over the mountains and the orchards, which were in full bloom, were spectacular.
The wood fired hot tub was an absolute winner! We fired it up in the late afternoons and had it steaming hot in the cool evenings. It was perfect for relaxing in, unwinding with a drink while enjoying the view.
All in all it was a lovely local stay and we can't wait to visit again.

Thank you for your great view of our Lady Red farm cottage. Spring time on the farm is such a blessed time, with the orchards giving us their show of blossoms and the weather is the best - balmy days and cool evenings that just make you want to fire the wood fire heated hot tub and relax as you point out with your favourite drink. I sometimes think that even the stars are brighter in Spring time and sitting in the hot tub looking up allows for recharging and some contemplation on how beautiful it all is.
