Manley Wine Estate is a boutique wine lodge and private cellar with luxury bed and breakfast accommodation, self-catering cottages, and a wedding chapel and beautiful function venue with a unique character. Manley is situated in the beautiful countryside of the small town Tulbagh, only a 90-minute drive from Cape Town CBD, and is surrounded by majestic mountain views, sweeping vineyards, and beautiful farmlands. The lodge itself is located towards Winterhoek only 1.3 km outside the historic Tulbagh town center, famous for its museums, unique earthquake history, and many different cultural activities. A short walk across the lawns from the thatch roof Manor House, in which the reception and dining areas are situated, we have seven large double bed and breakfast rooms which are arranged around a shaded courtyard adjacent to the pool. We also have two linked self-catering thatched cottages which are nestled beside the water at the end of the property. Each cottage can accommodate four persons and is ideal for small families. All our rooms are equipped with a private en-suite bathroom, DSTV (satellite TV) with ample available channels to select from, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, mini-fridges, built-in safes, and WIFI internet access. Most of our rooms also have their own fireplaces, making them especially cozy in winter, when we have been known to get a dusting of snow on the mountains. Breakfast is included in the cost of your stay if you book one of our double guest rooms. Breakfast is unfortunately not included with the self-catering cottages but can be added on by prior arrangement at an additional cost per person. The on-site eatery caters to guests’ breakfasts and other meal requirements, and the premises has a large outdoor swimming pool and a communal thatched Lapa with a large braai (barbecue) area.

Just an hour away from Cape Town, a weekend trip to Tulbagh is the prefect the getaway. Booking was efficient and all our questions were promptly answered and addressed. We arrived early evening on Friday and collected our keys from a very friendly Shireen at the on-site restaurant. Our room which was nestled alongside the vineyards was large, modern and clean. A sparkling pool and large braai area was available to all guests. The restaurant serves a variety of delicious breakfasts and if you are in the mood for lunch or dinner, the menu will appeal to all tastes. The pizzas and burgers are popular choices watered down with one of their award-winning wines or clod beers on tap. The farm's close proximity to other wine farms is a major drawcard and we sampled wines at three different farms ending off at Manly, where Stephan showcased the estate's wines with passion and intimate knowledge of the farm's offerings. Manley wine estate comes highly recommended and is the prefect getaway after a stressful time in the City.

We stayed only for one night. Which is a pity... wonderful and very spacious settings in general within the estate, very nice rooms with comfortable beds, so quiet...... Great hosts and great breakfast. We will certainly come back.

Food and wine exceptional, just wish it had been a little longer :) they are working hard on certain things that just need finishing off. we have already booked our next stay there :)

We had a lovely overnight stay. There was wine tasting which we didn't have time for, but the wine from the estate, which we had at dinner was very good. My husband is a bit of a wine bore... Dinner and breakfast was delicious. The staff very polite and friendly. Would happily return.

We had a lovely stay over, room was clean, they even let us check in a bit earlier. The pool was divine and the breakfast the following morning was perfect. Best value for money. Glad that I found this spot.

Manley Wine Estate is a beautiful spot in a good location just outside Tulbagh. We had two nights in one of the self-catering cottages beside the small dam lake. I loved it for the setting and abundance of birdlife on the property and we were lucky to have the place almost to ourselves. My wife was disappointed with the shabbiness of the accommodation and the cottage does definitely need a refresh. I was told that this is planned shortly, in which case any misgivings should be overcome.

Thank you very much for your feedback on our cottages! We are indeed not yet where we would like to be with the renovations with the cottages even though we get already quite positive feedback for our standard B&B rooms already. May you give us another chance with a stay in one of our standard rooms or when we will be through with all our renovations later this year. Kind regards, Stefan (from Manley team)

We went to Manley's for a wine tasting. Lovely setting, beautiful to sit outside and enjoy the pretty and very neat farm. The wines were of good quality. I thought the Rose was a bit dry for me. Very friendly lady at the tasting room. The farm's cat, Shiraz was a classic; sat with us while we did the tasting. Loved every moment of it.

Wonderfull setting, friendly staff, great food and wine, but rooms really need more attention. Old bedding, no proper space to hang clothing, blinds are worn and broken amd cant open. No warm bathmats on clay tiles for winter. With a little bit of TLC, the stay would be more cosy and encourage us to go back again. For now I would rather concider other options.

Nice lunch and vibe in the garden for Christmas in winter festival. Nice dishes on offer from the a la carte menu and the Xmas in Winter special. The tomato soup was very flavorful. Disappointed on the pretzel and Russian sausage though.
