Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape is a working boutique wine and olive farm situated in the heart of Tulbagh’s Valley of Abundance. Located just 90 minutes from Cape Town, the farm is as idyllic setting in which to experience a romantic getaway or family vacation.

Our four luxury bed and breakfast cottages showcase interiors that reflect a blend of rustic charm and modern sophistication, perfectly complimenting the old-world beauty of Tulbagh. Each cottage offers majestic mountain views and features an open-plan ensuite bathroom with a rain shower and large bathtub, refreshment station, smart TV, and complimentary WiFi. Air-conditioning with heating and cooling options, a remote controlled fan, and a cosy indoor fireplace ensure total comfort in hot summers and cold winters. A battery backup system ensures our cottages and restaurant have light during load shedding and unexpected power outages.

Outside, a private patio with a barbeque facility provides a relaxing vantage point from which to enjoy the sun set over the mountains, take in the sounds of the prolific birdlife, or gaze at the canopy of stars. Guest staying in our Couples Cottages can unwind in a new wood-fired hot tub which can be heated or enjoyed as a splash pool.

Duikersdrift also offers a secluded guest pool area with pergolas and pool loungers, a country-style restaurant serving hearty farm-fresh meals, and a children’s playground. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surrounding area, including picnics, wine tasting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and more.

My husband and I recently stayed at Duikersdrift and had the most incredible time. Not only did they go beyond the call of duty to help us, but both Sonja and Justin were extremely helpful and accommodating. The cottages are beautifully decorated, the KolKol hot tubs incredible and the setting quite honestly breathtaking. We loved the swimming pool with its naturally beautiful position, showcasing the mountains and fields. We will most certainly be back and thank everyone for the most stunning stay. A definite winner!

Been to this location a few times over the years when we have had time fir a short break during visits. Accomodation is first class and the views in the morning from the panoramic window makes all your worries vanish. You can walk around the extensive grounds and view the donkeys, horses, cows and fowl. The farm also grows vines and olives and their produce is for sale on site. The breakfast is excellent and they have a restaurant onsite which has an inviting menu. Tulbagh is a lovely area with several renowned wine farms, nice historical town, good walks and community spirit.

Cottage was disappointing. The photos give you a different impression. Breakfast was mediocre and took a very long time, despite the fact that you have to indicate the day before what kind of breakfast you want. One day we were the only guests and the next day 2 tables were occupied for breakfast. So it wasn't busy at all. Although you book the accommodation including breakfast, we got the feeling that this was actually difficult for them. Restaurant was closed for dinner but on special request they wanted to cook for you. We went elsewhere for dinner.

We have to change hotels unexpectedly and this was a welcomed surprise. It is off a dirt road outside tulbagh. Super cute and clean. The view from our room was amazing. The staff was so kind. They made us dinner even though didn’t have reservations truly amazing experience.

We’ve traveled a lot in SA and around the world and very, very rarely give five stars but Duikersdrift is exceptional. The warmest of welcomes and hospitality, splendid views, delicious food accompanied by fine wine and beer offerings — all delivered in an unassuming style as if we were long-standing pals revisiting instead of first-timers. Thank you to you all, and especially the superlative Rachel.

Long overdue review of Duikersdrift. Our family of 8 were scheduled to spend only 1 night in September while viewing the Namaqualand flowers. Our experience was so wonderful that we checked out of our next hotel and went back to Duikersdrift. Shane and her team were just amazing in seeing to our every need, including catering for 1 gluten free child and the vegetarian food for the rest of us. Leon made sure that our room fires were lit and rooms ready when we arrived at 9pm one night. Accommodation is lovely, clean and so peaceful. Feeding the donkeys was also a lovely experience there. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The cottage was perfect and the views fantastic. Shane and Lindy were so welcoming and we had the best ever sharing plate on our second night - a real work of art! Caroline in the booking office was very caring - we had to move our stay several times due to Covid and she handled this so well. Probably best to have a car when staying here.

Thank you to Shayne and Shane who made our visit to Duikersdrift so special. We took our family along for this trip as we were celebrating some birthdays and everyone was made to feel welcome. Your team makes Duikersdrift the only place to stay on a weekend visit to the Tulbagh region! …..And off course the food in the Obiqua restaurant just completes the experience! Thank you once again

What a gem Duikersdrift was. Waking up to the most stunning mountain views to going, to sleep under the bright stars. The family cottage was perfect for our little family of four. Down the path was a pool, perfect for a late evening dip to cool after scorching hot days. I wish there had been some cooler nights so we could cost up to the fireplace in our room but this is only a reason to go back in winter :) Breakfasts served on the veranda, in full view of those mountains were picture perfect. The service we received from the guest farm hosts / waiters was the cherry on top. There was no reason for us to leave - we had everything we needed there. Rest and repair. Just what the soul needs.
