We stayed three nights in Villa la Ginestra while on a first visit to the area to plan a family reunion. Our stay was delightful in every way and Federico, whose family house this is, is a generous, helpful and kind host. He is also a wonderful cook and deeply knowledgeable about the region. All of his recommendations for activities, food and wine were excellent and practical.
Federico is someone who is determined to do things well while always focussing on his guests' comfort.
The rooms, house and garden are all very clean and comfortable, and all was quiet. Everything was exactly as advertised.
If he is available to do so, Federico will prepare a lovely dinner. Advance notice is required, as he prepares everything fresh.
The location is convenient for exploring a beautiful region.

This B&B was one of the best places we stayed on our trip - lovely décor, great breakfast, brilliant host/owner (Federico) and our girls loved the swimming pool. Really was value for money as well - we stayed in a perfect adjoining room (2 adults, 2 young kids) and it was under €100 for the night. We walked to a great restaurant only about 5 mins down the road as well and had a delicious meal. Highly recommended, it has only been open for 2 months and deserves to be a success. Good luck Federico!

After arriving in Pisa to find no luggage we phoned Frederico who ran out and kindly bought us essentials for our arrival. Frederico and his beautiful dog were waiting for us on arrival to help us settle in. we can't say how thankful we were for his help.

We LOVED this villa. It had everything we could wish for and more. The villa took us around 2 hours to drive to from Pisa. We hired the whole house which you can also be booked as a b and b. The kitchen was huge and the breakfast room/lounge was also very large. There were 8 of us but the villa could hold more without feeling cramped at all. The Villa is Frederico's family home but he made us feel it was ours while we were there. The bedrooms were comfortable and there were two bedrooms that interconnected for a couple with children.
The grounds and pool were fantastic with plenty of loungers and sitting areas for everyone to enjoy the summer weather. The pool has a shallow area ideal for younger children
The area was on the outskirts of the country park so fantastic for people who love country side and walking, but bear in mind the roads can be quite steep with sharp bends if you are not a good traveller.. There are many lovely towns and sights that are within driving distance, but a car will be needed to get the most from staying here, although we did find a train stop nearby which goes directly to Arezzo. A short walk from the villa was a restaurant which was recommended by Frederico, it does the best fresh pasta amongst other things and we went back more than once. The only thing we found a pain were the mosquitoes, this would be the case anywhere in Tuscany at this time of year, but a swift spray of anti moz helped deter the bites.
There is a supermarket and baby shop about a 3 minute drive from the villa.
From Pisa the drive took us nearly two hours.
If in this area again we would definitely stay at Villa La Ginestra.
Thank you for a fantastic time Frederico.

We had pre-paid our visit a couple of months in advance (through Expedia), and when we arrived, it was pretty clear they weren't expecting any guests.
The sign at the front of the driveway told us we were in the right place, but a peek in the locked door did that this was now someone's living room.

It might have been a lovely place (might be again, for all I know), but right now, it seems to be closed for business.

Villa La Ginestra and it owner Frederico is the living proof of Italian authenticity. Situated not far from a couple of smaller city centers but at driving distance from Arezzo (15'), Assisi (1h15), Purugia (1h), Firenze (1h), Sienna (1h), Cortona, Montepulciano ... and a whole lot of smaller places that are 1-2 stars in the Green Michelin guide (still our reference), you can use Villa La Ginestra as discovery point for the center and south of Toscane. It has kept it original style & flavour and together with its host it offers delicious breakfast, a very warm welcome and introduction to the region (just mention a place and you get 20 minutes of tips) and excellent reference to where to eat, ... We (family of four with two teenage children) had a perfect stay.

We found this beautiful place on internet. When we arrived Federico gave us a warm welcome and showed us some beautiful rooms. Also his dog Gaitano (?) was a great personality. We relaxed on the sun beds around the pool and went to Arezzo, which is nearby. Federico recommended a small restaurant around the corner, because we didn't want to drive to the center for diner, it was a spectacular quality. Demetra is the chef and she surprised us 2 nights. grazie mille!

We visited this lovely Italian guest house in December. Contrary to many italian BNBs, this one was warm, with good heating and we ever could enjoy a cup of tea in front of the fireplace. Our room was spacious, with convenient bathroom and quiet. The host helped us a lot in finding places and advices about local restaurants. Nothing special about the breakfast - it was good italian style one, with coffee, cookies, cornetto. The only problem we faced, it was not really easy to find the place for the first time even with GPS or Google maps. Its a country house outside Arezzo. So better to plan the route in advance or be ready to call someone from the hotel.

I highly recommend it... I hope to return soon...😍😍

We spent a truly fabulous weekend at Villa La Ginestra.
Coming from the Sanctuary
La Verna, with direction Arezzo, Anghiari and other local places, we wanted a quiet location and at the same time with all comforts and I must say I made the right choice. Villa La Ginestra is located just 10 km from Arezzo, with Federico always the owner with his family, an extraordinary person, always present and ready to satisfy guests' requests.
Beautiful garden, looked after down to the smallest detail by Federico himself, small but welcoming swimming pool and even if the weather wasn't great, we still appreciated it.
Convenient and comfortable room, with furniture all belonging to Federico's family, as in the entire Villa, which makes you live a unique experience. All homemade breakfast with simple but delicious products.
The presence of Mirta, a 3-month-old labrador, who was really nice and playful, was beautiful and personally appreciated.
In short, if you pass near Arezzo, I highly recommend this fabulous place, suitable for everyone, couples and families, where we will certainly return.

Christian

After an extremely suggestive sunset on the Libbia road, we arrive late in the evening at Villa La Ginestra, a villa surrounded by greenery. We find Federico welcoming us, who with cordiality and kindness makes us sit in a very comfortable room of the beautiful residence he manages. The furnishings are stimulating and never banal (a selection of books in different environments stands out, always very welcome). Cleanliness is excellent, relaxation guaranteed.
The highlight of the stay was the breakfast prepared by Federico himself, a selection of very high quality desserts (the tart was excellent) served in the garden near the beautiful swimming pool which we did not use due to lack of time.
If you need information on what to see in the surrounding area, Federico can direct you towards the hidden beauties of Casentino. So many words in this review, to simply tell you: highly recommended!
