I am amazed that there aren't a flood of reviews for this place, it's just fabulous if you are looking for an authentic family owned taverna in the old fashioned Greek style. Although we were staying in the nearby AI hotel we were so glad to be able to visit, enjoy and support Stamatis and his family especially his wonderful mother. I won't write anymore just to say just go, please, then you can write your own review. To confirm we visited the evening restaurant only.
We have visited Dassia many times before but did not know this place existed until now and we are so glad we found it. Its set back from the main road so you don't get any noise. The grounds are lovely and a big swimming pool to cool down in. Its about a 10 minute walk to the beach and the number 7 bus runs every 20 minutes to Corfu town one way or Ipsos the other. The rooms were wonderful with a great view over to Corfu harbour and Albania. There is a big supermarket near to get all your provisions. The staff Stakis Anita and Dmitria who looked after our room are amazing they make you feel you have known them for years. We can highly recommend this property and we will stay here again when in Dassia.
Cozy family hotel on the hill. Yes, it is a steep climb to the appartment, but it’s worth it! In the morning you can see the sun rise over the mountains of Corfu from your (large!) balcony. The staff is super friendly. They prepare a small lunch for you if you want to with whatever is available that day. Down the hill on the corner of the main street there is large super market and an atm. In front of the super market there’s a bus stop. Busses bring you to Kerkyra in about 15 minutes.
To put it simple - PERFECT. We had 11 days of sheer bliss back in August. We are sitting here on the Welsh coast looking at the swelling sea, listening to 75 mph winds with the rain battering the windows and to help us get though the day we've been looking at our photo's of the 'Panorama'!! We have smiles on our faces. This really was an incredible find, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. It was actually as though we were staying as family guests in Sakis and Anita's home. They were the absolute perfect hosts, nothing was ever a problem. If Sakis was busy and we wanted a beer and/or a wine, it was 'help yourself, we'll sort it later on' :-))) We had a great stay, enjoyed Dassia but cant help feeling that the new large all inclusive hotel will put local businesses under pressure. Ipsos was nice too with plenty of eateries and tavernas for drinks. We had a lovely afternoon with food (lobster 🦐 was the best ever) at the Glyfa Restaurant which was a short bus ride away......the best Greek salad we had was Sakis's at the Panorma. We left with heavy hearts, but with our batteries fully recharged ready to get through the english winter so we can save for the next holiday. We don't normally do 'going back' holidays but this is 100% a place we would return to!! 'Mama and Papa' - we hope you are all keeping well, thanks for looking after us. Enjoy your winter break. And the offer still stands - if you need a manager to run the place you know how to get in touch :-) A final word for Dmitria, our maid - we didnt see you without a smile all 11 days. It's not surprising when you work in paradise!! Thanks for everything (Sakis this lady desrves a pay rise :-)) love Paul and Mandy xxx…
After just one night at the panorama hideaway I can say we have found a little bit of paradise in corfu. Location breath taking. So peaceful. Lovely pool area and gardens. Very clean studio. Typical Greek style but with nice little touches. Toiletries, fresh flowers in room . The owner is very friendly and knowelable about the area. Although dassia town is very quiet at the moment. I'm sure the next 13 days will be heaven. Don't be put off by reviews of the steep hill. We are in our fifties and found it no problem to get back up and it's all good exercise.
