We decided on a last minute getaway in the school holidays, and came across Seagulls Guesthouse in Langebaan. The 6-sleeper unit was absolutely perfect for my parents, husband, 2 kids and myself (it even had a bed for a 7th person). We had a beautiful view from our lounge area of the swimming pool area, and some beautiful views of the lagoon in the distance. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The master bedroom had an en-suite, and the 2 other bedrooms shared a second bathroom with shower. The kids bedroom had bunk beds. The second double bedroom is very small, with the one side of the bed pushed against the wall to make some space. However, it didn't bother us, as we didn't spend much time in there other than sleeping. Our unit had a very cosy little courtyard with a braai area and seating. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use it, but it was lovely to sit there and have your coffee in the mornings and soak up some sunshine. It was lovely, quiet and peaceful stay, and it felt like we had the entire place to our ourselves for the couple of days we were there.
The host, Hanlie, was absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful.

The room in which we stayed, there were some problems that need attendance.
The electrical plugs need urgent work, as some of the plugs made sparks when hair dryer were inserted.
The light bulbs in the kitchen also need work, when closing the cupboard one of the bulbs went on and off.
Need to equip second room with a cupboard for clothes, mirror, electrical plug as the guest in this room still need to make use of facilities in the main room.

I enjoyed my stay as well as my family, the place has the homely feel. It is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. We never even felt load shedding as they have back up power system in place, when the TV in one of the units broke, they provided a new TV within an hour of reporting it. The one mattress was a bit hard in one unit though. Also if the bin can be collected daily.

We were a family of 4, the only available pace was upstairs, with a stunning view, nice classy furniture! So if you can not clime stairs... and on a sunny day its very HOT upstairs, open all the windows and go for a coffee.
On your way to the two bedrooms and bathrooms we had a terrible smell in the kitchen, we checked the dustbin the basin, inside the cupboards bur could not find the origin of the smell, so had to take a deep breath every time you pass by, witch take your lich for pizza.
The mattresses on the beds needs to be replaced, its the one major thing that makes your stay with while, if you wake up all night with metal pinching you in the ribs or your back, our still tired the next day, If I knew the beds are so horrible, I would have gone back home witch is only 2.5h drive rather. I slept in the spare bedroom because the main bedroom sheet had an ugly dirty mark on just where your bum should be on the bed. there was no place to leave my suitcases we had to put it on the floor.. toilet paper in on sweet bathroom only had 3 blocks left an NO spare, luckily we found extra in the 2nd bathroom.

Response from SeagullsG, Owner at Seagulls Guesthouse

Dear Gogo Muanza Matadi, Your complaint on Booking.com and now on Tripadvisor - You chose unit 6 on B.com, with all true reflection of pics of the unit, which is our newest built unit with a new queen sized bed. We serve breakfast at 9 in the morning, you were inconsiderate by arriving an hour and half late? Unfortunately, some people are just not happy with anything! I might just ad that we had a guest in the same unit a day after your departure and she was a fairly large lady. I asked her specifically if the bed was comfortable? She couldn't stop complimenting us on the unit and how comfortable the bed was... I rest my case!!

My wife and I were visiting Langebaan for more than 20 years always a few month per year. We stayed in so many different nice guest houses but Seagulls is definitively one of the best. The owner Hanlie and Mildred - the soul for everything - are running the guest house with full women power: Very professionel and always warmharded and very helpfull. We came as guests and left as friends in our first visit. We booked already for next year.

We would like to take this opportunity to THANK Hanlie for such professional services rendered. Also your in-house employee Milly who was so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was awesome. Wow, what a place to be, relaxed, calm and peaceful atmosphere during a challenging year of Covid.

I would recommend any person to this Guesthouse, highly favoured.

All the best and take care.

Mrs Searle

Wow what an amazing time at Seagull's. We came late after check-in and our key was left in a safe place. We were then welcomed the next day by the owner. It was quiet and we totally enjoyed our stay. The breakfast that was served was so nice. Nice clean place and so cosy. We will defnitely came again...

Great location, great layout, clean and comfortaable BUT the stay was short. Not because of the venue but because of drunk and disorderly neighbours who felt it appropriate to party till the early hours of the next morning after been warned by the owner. The other issue was a faulty front door lock that kept me busy for at least 30 minutes on 2 occasions just to get into the room. Some overhead lights also not working.
