Very nice home to stay at. I enjoyed the room, food and friendliness of the hosts. They packed a very nice lunch pack for me. The check-in was flexible (I had to arrive a bit later in the evening). Hosts also gave me insightful information about activities in the area.

Me and my girlfriend slept at the BnB and where welcomed with open arms. We felt like we where at home. When we arrived we where greater by 2 friendly faces, we where told that they are the new owners. I must say the cleanliness of the room was excellent and so was the breakfast. We were asked at what time we would like our food and no other BnB has asked us that. Overall I recommend this guest house to all.

We booked, paid and confirmed to stay at the establishment on the 21st September. This was a 60th birthday celebration weekend. On arrival we were told that there was a double booking and they could not accommodate us. Irene who worked there quickly arranged an alternative BnB for us to sleep at. She also offered us a free night which we gladly accepted. A week ago we called to confirm and were assured all was in order. We went ahead, making celebratory arrangements with friends only to receive a call the day before we were to go there that they had again double booked and could not accommodate us. All plans had to be cancelled at the last minute. Absolutely unacceptable and shocking lack of service. Still waiting for replies to all emails and WhatsApp messages sent to the owner of the establishment on the 21st when the first booking was botched! I would not recommend this BnB at all!

A friend and I booked to go and see the flowers on the West Coast. I booked a night with Jacques Cook at Alabaster, paid within 24 hours of booking and got an email and WhatsApp message from Jacques confirming our booking. When we arrived at Alabaster BnB the afternoon of our booking there was no one there to check us in. After waiting half an hour Irene arrived and had no record of our booking. I showed her the email from Jacques confirming our booking and she was apologetic and booked us into another BnB close by as they were fully booked. She gave us a free night for another time as compensation for their mistake and overbooking. We made a date for our free nights accommodation there and then for a month later. I phoned Irene mid month to check our free night booking was still ok and she confirmed it. Less than 24 hours before our nights accommodation I got a message from the owner of the BnB we had been out up in before, to say we were not getting our free night as Alabaster was fully booked! Twice we have been treated shockingly by this disgusting BnB and never once an apology from Jacques Cook - he does not even respond to emails or WhatsApp messages. He is also underhanded as we wanted yo book via Daddys Deals and he asked us rather to book and pay with him directly so he did not have to pay them commission! I would avoid this place at all costs, given their shockingly disgusting customer service!

On arrival (half an hour after check in time) the music was so loud I had to shout to get attention. The hostess Irene was walking around barefoot and her clothes were filthy, she came across very cold and unfriendly... We had to walk over dirty, wet kitchen floors with our 2 toddlers to get to our room. It was just after 1pm and i needed to get my son down for a nap, The bedding in the room was damp and there was a pipe leaking in the room coming from the very noisy laundry room next to us.. Any one of us could have slipped on the drenched floor and really hurt ourselves.. I pointed this all out to Irene who didnt even apologize for the inconvenience. We were then moved upstairs where there was a matress outside on the balcony, one of our little ones went and leaned on the matress when he mentioned its wet thats when we realized he smelt of bleach, his clothes had been ruined as we were not told that the matress outside was covered in bleach, or why it was even outside on our balcony in the first place. Instead Irene shouted at us for letting our child lean on the matress!!?? His 4years old and why were we not told or warned about the matress... Again i tried to put my son to sleep and AGAIN the bedding was wet! When i mentioned this to Irene i was told its not.. It must be my hands!? By this time my child was over the nap period so my friend amd i decided to leave... We told Irene we felt very uncomfortable and felt we needed to leave.... She just said 'ok bye', not a single appology or offer to do something to make up for the ruined clothes or HORRIFIC service up until this point... Not to mention the cleaning staff as well as Irene were not wearing masks which also made us feel extremely uncomfortable.. Thankfully we were able to find wonderful accommodation at Windtown in the main road close to the beach and ended up having an amazing time in Langebaan. As for Alabaster box... Save yourself the horrendous experience!
