We recently stayed at Crystal Lagoon from 1-4 Oct , what a treat. It's in a safe , access controlled estate , very well maintained property. Our room was on the grund floor with a nice big patio & quick access to the beach a few metres away. The beach was awesome & we went for a run every day , barefoot , and did many many walks throughout the day. The rooms are elevated above the beach and the views are amazing across the Langebaan Lagoon. For the water enthusiasts , windsurfing , swimming and diving are ideal , even a few fishermen around. There are also wooden decks for those for prefer a run along the beachfront. Breakfast is included & was always well prepared with awesome views & an opportunity to enjoy inside or on the deck. The staff from our initial online booking and throughout our stay were very friendly & nothing was to much trouble. Dinner can be pre arranged but there are 2 restaurants within 5mins along the beach where we enjoyed a few sunsets. The room was spacious & had great views of the ocean from within. If you need a peaceful break from the city , the West Coast and Crystal Lagoon is definately a must and we will certainly return in the months to come.

Staff very vey helpful with our accommodation requests and during the dreaded Load Shedding periods.
We initially had a room not facing the Lagoon, but without any fuss were moved to one with a balcony and view of the Lagoon.
I would definitely recommend staying at this Lodge.

We first visited Crystal lagoon Lodge in 2010. It was spectacular and a highlight of our trip, hence the return visit. The location is perfect and the view is outstanding. Times are tough in hospitality, so I feel it might be difficult to keep the standards high, but the whole place could do with a bit of a revamp. There are a lot of dated and tacky features, and our shower needed multiple bath mats to contain the water. It is time for a re-think on the design of the showers! When good times return, a professional opinion on the decor is needed. The staff were very friendly, but the breakfast certainly wasn't 4 star. The mushy fruit was drowned in a little bowl of yoghurt and muesli. I don't happen to want yoghurt on my fruit, so I asked reception to pass on my request for day 2, but alas, it was ignored and there was no fresh fruit in sight. The breakfast choices were very limited with no orange juice one morning and no pastries, fruits, nuts, etc.
Otherwise it is a good spot and I hope they take my views as constructive feedback. I wish them well.

On arrival our bathroom had a very bad smell like urine.
We feel for this upmarket place you could at least had toilet spray shampoo and conditioner. You could also have better looking cream sanitizer and hand wash bottles

The location and accommodation itself is beautiful, the reason this rating was given is because after 7month of not seeing my fiance this was meant to be our romantic getaway. On arrival our extras like platter, champagne ect was forgotten and then the platter was really not nice, cheese was very off and crackers were stale and soggy. We did say something and they did give us complimentry chocolates even though I feel we should have not been charged for this actually. We also specifically got the room with the balcony so we can have coffee and drinks on the balcony but there were workers all day till late working and building behind us which made it uncomfortable, we didn't use it in the end (this was in the week though). It just would have been nice of them to have told us there was construction going on before we booked. The rooms and location was wonderful and most of the staff was very friendly but unfortunately this was a bit of a let down for us especially for the price we paid.

Our party had one room on the second floor - beautiful view, super comfortable bed, oversized bathroom, very pleasant - and one on the reception floor with a sun deck offering no intimacy - strangely decorated, crammed with too many objects, too close from kitchen smells in the morning. The beach is just down, private, safe, with seals swimming in the waves. Breakfast was uninteresting, not a thing to remember.

The view at Crystal Lagoon Lodge is beautiful. I personally think the let down for this place is, the small rooms, no bar tender, and only one person preparing the breakfast. Dinner you have to book at breakfast, but also only one person preparing the food. They don’t have a menu, you get told that they make what you want to eat. Sorry but thats not how I know 4 star accommodation. I think if you change all of the above, you accommodation will be the perfect place to stay at.

My family and I stayed in the non sea facing rooms for a night. We would definitely rather recommend the sea facing rooms. Our rooms were extremely hot, with no sea breeze to break the heat. The quaint rooms are very well set out, however it still felt very small for two people with luggage. The biggest issue is the stairs. There is no alternative and getting luggage up the stairs without a porter is quite a mission and definitely works up a sweat. We had a lovely breakfast with a stunning view although I would definitely avoid the croissants as mine was inedible, being both burnt and undercooked. The cooked breakfast was thankfully good. I think it can be quite an experience staying in the sea-facing rooms but I would not really recommend the non sea-facing rooms, unless it’s for a quick stop over.

Anneke is gracious host. The staff members seem overwhelmed and flustered. The fact that staff members didn't answer their phones when we needed them makes me give then a low rating. We had to ask for our room to be cleaned again as it wasn't in a crisp condition when we arrived. Breakfast is decent and filling, nothing special. We had a sea facing room and enjoyed uninterrupted views of the ocean. The high ranking will be for the access to the beach.

The property is amazing. Cleanliness, location, breakfast all excellent. Our room opened up directly onto a patio from which you can access the boardwalk to the beach. Stunning! Only downside was that no dinner is on offer however there are more than enough restaurants in the area. Marc’s beach bar is awesome.
