What a culinary adventure we had at Casa Ombuto. We can honestly say that ALL our expectations were exceeded and some!!!. This cooking course was my 50th birthday gift from my Fiance' Andy but we had to rebook it twice since March 2020 due to Covid. So when we finally arrived in beautiful Tuscany and the town of Poppi, we couldn't wait to get to Casa Ombuto. This has also been on my bucketlist since 2009, so it was a dream come true for me when we did finally drive into Casa Ombuto. Allyson, you are amazing and loads of fun as well. You made us feel part of the family from the moment we arrived and put a glass of wine in our hands. Chef Alice...what can we say that wasn't already said? You are an absolute delight!!! You truly do put your whole heart and soul into the cooking…

Wow! This holiday exceeded all expectations. Even the weather was kind to us. We went to Casa Ombuto in May, having had to postpone 5 times (gotta love Covid) but it was certainly worth waiting for. And thank you for letting us postpone. Upon arrival we were amazed by the venue, beautiful, discreet, quiet and just gorgeous. The lovely Allyson greeted us, offered us a glass of wine and then gave us a tour. What’s not to love? All the bedrooms were ideal, there were amenities we didn’t even think to use, and everything else we needed or could imagine. As the week unfolded we had lots to do and time todo nothing but chill and sit by the pool (thank you weather gods!). Barbara, the tiny but mighty masseuse, was available and brilliant, a couple of times a week. Cook Paola…

Mum and I came to Ombuto as part of her 80th birthday celebrations and have chalked it up as one of our best holidays! To start with, Paola, or chef and teacher for the week, is everything you could want as a teacher- she’s warm. Friendly, personable and fun but not-oh-boy, there’s no slacking off as far as cooking goes! She has so many tips about ingredients, how to source fresh and local She’s an absolute gem and the Casa Ombuto experience is richer for her experience in the cooking. And as if this wasn’t enough, Alec and Lena who oversee the villas are an absolutely delightful couple who keep everything running smoothly with wonderful humour and conviviality of a couple who love other people enjoying the places they manage. The rest of the team who seamlessly work to ensure…

My first visit to Italy, and wow, far too much to see and do. Casa Ombuto is really outstanding. Cooking classes with Paola were wonderful for both experienced cooks and beginners, Paola is a force of nature and a really amazing teacher. The staff of Ombuto really goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is five-star. The lodgings were rustic yet still a destination experience, I mean...wood-fired hot tub, pool with an unbeatable view, sauna, steam, massage...amazing food and wine, mind-blowing scenery and on and on. Really wonderful, from beginning to end. An unbeatable experience, even during a difficult time.

Casa Ombutu is a dream! So much more than a cooking school! I went here with a friend and we left with new friendships that we will have for years to come. Paola was the most amazing, patient chef you could ask for. She's funny, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable regarding food and cooking! I was amazed at the beauty of the property, the kindness of every single person who works there and the wealth of knowledge I left with to bring home to my family. It's a busy week, but full of so much information and fun experiences. For sure do the hiking and cooking week so you can see some of the countryside. Highly recommend this to all - regardless of their cooking experience. Thank you Lars, Pippa, Paola and Lena and all for a wonderful time!

For the third time I went back to Tuscookany. In 2019 I stayed at Torre del Tartufo, this year I went two times to Casa Ombuto and enjoyed the very good cooking lessons of Italian chef Paola Baccetti. I had an amazing time. Everything was well organized. The food and wines were fantastic. If you love cooking, I really recommend this cooking school. It is one of the best in Europe.

Our cooking holiday with Tuscookany in Casa Ombuto was just amazing. We had such a great time, beyond our expectations. The group was wonderful, chef Paola is the most fun, sweet and inspirational chef you could ever want, teaching us so much. And the villa is incredibly beautiful, in a serene environment. And then the food… it couldn’t have been more yummy. Paola’s staff were very hospitable and took care of everything. Only thing we had to do was cook, the food was served to us and we feasted like kings. Thank god this piece of heaven was open again after corona restrictions were lifted earlier in the summer. We miss Paola, Casa Ombuto, their amazing staff and our wonderful group so much. Hoping to visit again soon!

What a fabulous time. Secluded in the forest high above the medieval Tuscan town of Poppi, Casa Ombuto is truly a unique experience. Excellent accommodations. Fabulous hospitality anchored by executive chef Paola Baccetti and hostess Claudia Poibomani.. Unique teaching experience about food and its preparation, wine pairing and the love that Italians put into every meal. Mamma Mia...we loved it!!! Bill and Louise Neville Canada

I just returned from a week at Casa Ombuto with Tuscookany, and can't say enough about how happy I am to have gone. I returned home and last week scoured my kitchen from head to toe with the newfound respect and love I have for cooking. The villa is beautiful in so many ways, as only Italy can be, and the people here have a love for and commitment to what they do that creates a really unique vacation. Claudia was helpful in every way imaginable, and Paola, our amazing, passionate and generous chef, is a life-force. Loved my time there, loved the people I cooked and lived with, and love how I feel about cooking since coming home. Hope to visit again soon! Perfetto!
