There are few places we have travel to where the staff provide a level of ecellence that exceeds expectations as they did in mFfulaWozi,. The location is stunning as is the newly renovated lodge ,attention to detail and just an incredible location .Whilst the traversing area is quite small we saw an abundance of game including a 100+ breeding herd of elephant and wild dogs and lions ,buffalo

A very upmarket lodge with fantastic service and extremely friendly staff who went out of their way to assist at every turn. Food was excellent. The rooms were spacious and luxurious with huge and comfortable beds. The hot water was a bit intermittent though, and as a suggestion, curtaining should be considered for the whole room to prevent early morning light. Overall, we had a great experience.

My visit was a dream come true! Biyela Lodge was just perfection. As soon as I arrived I received the warmest welcome and this continued throughout my stay.
I went on a game drive with my guide called Michael and the photographer Camilla. The knowledge that Michael has is unbelievable! There was nothing he didn’t know about the wildlife, park history, birds and plants. Everything he explained was so easy to understand and remember too which I appreciated. It’s clear he has spent years researching and that this is his passion! Big thanks also goes to Camilla - it was amazing to see you going along the tracks and identifying footprints, identifying birds flying in the sky and just being an all round great host!
In total we saw 23 rhinos, a dozen elephants (very close up), impalas, zebras, buffalo, giraffes, the endless list goes on - there were 100s!! I’ve read of some people going to other lodges/reserves and not seeing a thing, so this exceeded all my expectations by a mile. It was evident that Michael and Camilla knew exactly where to go to track them all down. This really was such an emotional experience seeing these animals roam free in the wild, yet so close to you.
The food during my stay was absolutely delicious!! Especially the ramen and the game drive lunch where Fleur prepared Asian ribs, chicken wings, sandwiches, and muffins. There was also a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks for everyone. P.S. those ribs were to die for!! What an incredible chef you have, I’ll really miss eating like royalty.
The reserve and lodge itself is so well kept and the views are absolutely breathtaking - especially from the infinity pools. This is the definition of luxury! I’m still speechless…I’m lost for words.
Last but far from least, thank you so much Irene for your hospitality! You constantly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and enjoyable. You’re an asset to Biyela Lodge and I can see that you put your heart and soul into running it. It was so well organised, and nothing was ever an issue for you. These are memories that I’ll have for a lifetime, all thanks to you and your wonderful team!
Thank you all so so much, I’ll never forget my time here!

Amazing location with the river and wilderness on your doorstep. The view from the rooms (and entire lodge) of the river and valley was soul restoring. The most spectacular game viewing from our very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable guide. Service was top notch and all our meals were absolutely delicious with "fine dining" at its best at dinner. Magnificent decor throughout the lodge.

We just wanted to thank everybody for making our trip so memorable at your magnificent lodge. What a beautiful part of the world to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were so spoilt and taken care of from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The staff are doing an outstanding job - attention to detail; the extra touches and the points of difference; the amazing food; the 5* service all never went unnoticed and was truly appreciated. Restored souls, recharged batteries and phenomenal sightings. What a wonderful and special few days that we will cherish close to our hearts forever. We wish you all the very best in growing Mfulawozi and know Mthembu Lodge, as well as the others I’m sure, will absolutely fly. We will definitely be back and will be recommending it to family, friends and clients. With heartfelt thanks, Lance and Rebecca Harcourt

From the arrival at the gate until we sadly had to depart it was one of the most amazing experiences that I have had. We were fetched at the gate by our brilliant guide, who didn’t only have knowledge about animals that you could read up somewhere, but he had studied animal behaviour given us deep insight into the bush. He also had knowledge about everything else in the game reserve from plants to climate he knew it all! The service in the lodge was also just amazing, everybody was so welcoming and friendly. It was impossible not to feel relaxed and happy during the stay. Our room and the shared living and dining area were beautifully decorated. The pool area was also beautiful and a very nice place to spend an afternoon. All in all I would definitely recommend the lodge.

Went for an overnight quick safari at Biyela lodge and we were not disappointed. A beautiful lodge that is perched above overseeing a magnificent river area - in terms of setting it is hard to beat.
The rooms are spacious and well decorated as are the public areas. The food was excellent at the hands of Fleur. The overall service level I must say leaves room for improvement in terms of little things- example includes getting to the room and the air conditioning is not on which then takes a while to cool down the room as well as allows insects to thrive, another example is the restaurant inconsistent service. But having said that we loved the place and were particularly impressed with our guide Byron who went above the call of duty in terms of ensuring we had a truly wonderful time while spotting so much wildlife that our heads were spinning. Bravo !

Wonderful, peaceful and tranquil setting - rooms are luxurious and cater for all needs. Views are spectacular - private pool is a bonus in the hot summer weather. Food is outstanding and nothing is too much trouble for the chef, Samuel and his team. Our ranger, Lungilo was great - and so knowledge he kept our interest at all times. Learned a lot on this trip. Excellent 5* treatment.

Absolutely spectacular visit. We organised this privately from Azamara cruise ship direct with the resort. It was easy to do. An overnight stay in Biyela Lodges in one of the suites with a plunge pool. The hotel organised our transfer with Menzi (a taxi transfer) from Richard's Bay which went smoothly both ways. The team in resort were fabulous. Superb service from start to finish led by Joe. Superb food from Fleur and Melissa. The suite was without doubt the best room we have ever stayed in. Top quality and amazing views from the balcony. We felt like filmstars staying there. The 2 game drives with Byron were totally unforgettable. He was an absolutely brilliant guide. So knowledgeable. Highlights for us were seeing 200 plus elephants on game drive one and seeing a white rhino close up on game drive two. Albeit so many others as well. This was a proper safari. In a large game reserve where the animals are entirely free to go where they want including into the wilderness so you need some luck for sightings and need to work for what you see. And we were so excited with the results.
