Everything from the service to the food and the game viewing was faultless. The staff really do provide a personal touch - they are so friendly and helpful. We had the most amazing trip in the perfect place.

I never have better experience yet! It was gorgeous from first moment (landing in soiled runway with small privat plane). Hotel - 7 separately accommodated chalets plus one absolutely separated - it is amazing kind of spending time in bush. In the middle of bush! Excellent service in restaurant (at the end of the day they is maximum 20 guests), very good meal, gerat equipments. But, most important was a safari game two times per day. Big FIVE within ones grasp, cheetah very close under terrace of house etc.. Not words, it is necessary to experience its! Amazing!!!

There are just too many special touches to name them all so all I can recommend is that you visit yourself and enjoy them. My wife and I were treated like VIPs at Amakhosi. We've been to a few safari lodges in the past and we had the best elephant and lion sightings that we'd ever seen at Amakhosi.

What a stay. We chose this lodge for its size and based on previous reviews - they certainly did not disappoint. Whilst there are only a small number of lodges, this does not make the lodge itself feel small - it is extremely spacious and feels very personal. The rooms/chalets themselves are just wonderful, and we loved sitting on our deck looking at the river, listening to the grunting hippos in the water (who were obviously camera shy as they only gave us a glimpse in the dark morning!). The food at the lodge was fantastic, as was the service and all the staff. Obviously the highlight will be the game drives, and Sipo our guide ensured we experienced so much more than we could ever have expected. The encounters with rhinos, buffalos (I don't think I've ever seen so many

Pierre & Zakhele our Ranger & Tracker made this a very memorable safari. Their knowledge, their sense of humour & their ability to make each drive better than the previous one made our stay at Amakhosi special. Our honeymoon lodge was perfect. Chilled champagne on arrival, a warm Jacuzzi outside with magnificent views was heavenly. The food is outstanding here. Breakfast every morning had different dishes to enjoy. Lunch was tasty & light. Our dinners were very special be it the 4 course dinners or the bbq's. The team were outstanding & could not do enough to look after us. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

We were unfamiliar with South Africa and Safari. We used a local travel agency (Get Africa Travel) that is run by a Norwegian lady. The joy was therefore great, when we arrived at the Amakhosi Safari Lodge. The place was amazing and fell in love with it right away. The service was impeccable and the staff took good care of us as a family. The Safari guides were keen to show us everything the park could offer of animal experiences. They had very good knowledge of all the animals in the park, participating to make this a very successful experience. We got to see "The Big Five" besides the leopard. The facilities were impeccable and it was a mindblowing experience to wake up in the morning to the baboons ' bickering and the hippos ' grunting. It did not lack anything, everything

Driving out feeling heavy hearted, missing Amakhosi already. What an amazing experience, a once in a lifetime break away. Everything was perfect! Very well thought out, food amazing! Staff very helpful and friendly, going above and beyond. Chalets stunning! A very special mention to Pierre and Zakhele (our own ranger and tracker), THANK YOU!!!! We felt safe in your care and both so knowledgeable! Both Fantastic with us and amazing with our 14 and 12 year old children. They both Made memories for the four of us that will last a lifetime! You are both worth your weight in gold! Who knows Pierre, you may have inspired Ash to be a ranger! Beautiful, healthy animals, in arms reach. Healthy and in abundance. Very, very highly recommended! We will never ever forget this. Thank you!

On arriving we were truly looked after, we were a group of 4 taking 2 lodges. They are fabulous lodges albeit a little cold as the weather wasn't too good. But the house maids turned the electric blankets on to warm the beds for our arrival back from the evening game drive. And there was plug in radiators for our comfort. The food was magnificent throughout our stay as was the good selections of wines and beers. The staff were very accommodating with any issues we had. On arrival back to the lodge after our game drives we were welcomed with warm hand towels and a little tipple of sherry or liquor. The game drives ( 2 a day ) were the highlight of the day they were awesome albeit very early morning and early evening. Well done Amakhosi Lodge Hopefully we will be back.

We got horribly lost on our way ending up in the hills at least one hour away! Do not listen to your GPS. There are VERY few road signs leading to the Lodge. But, we met up with a gent in a remote village who directed us in the right direction. As luck may have it, he had worked for Amakhosi before. When we arrived everyone knew of our adventure. We had missed lunch and my beloved spa, but this was sorted out very quickly - a light lunch was prepared and the spa re-scheduled with the help of Zinhle (an absolute star). The Safari drive was beyond all expectations. Jacques is knowledgeable and devoted to his work at Amakhosi. His trusted partner, Zakele , identified spoors. With the help of the other guide we found the evasive ellies. The matriarch was not happy with Dumbo

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate this and especially when there is constructive information and tips on how to better our service. Thank you for giving us the opportunity of chatting to us via email and elaborating on your SPA experience and as mentioned by Sonja we are constantly training and giving our staff opportunities for growth and due to the fact that our newest therapist position was filled in house and is a relatively new post, this could have contributed to the fact that that you did not have the best experience in this regard and for this we profusely apologise. We do take these matters seriously and have the Africology trainer coming through soonest and have made a note of your suggestions and comments for them to address, in order to better our SPA experience. Thank you so much for the wonderful comments and compliments on the rest of your stay our team are very happy that you had a wonderful time. As for the dreaded GPS, we have many problems and have tried to address this with all the various GPS providers and STILL the route that they send our guests is through rural unmarked areas, hence we mention this on our material and website and ask our guests to please not use GPS until they are closer to Pongola. We are so sorry that you had to endure this extra long journey to us and we are really pleased you bumped into Sabelo who managed to guide you in the right direction, in this case saying it is a small world is most appropriate . With regards to our braai evening, we fully understand that for us South Africans it is the norm and yes for our international guests it is a highlight eating round the fire and under the African skies.. but we hope the rest of your meals were good. We do hope you give us the opportunity to welcome you back and to ensure you have a wonderful stay with us. Best regards from the Amakhosi Team
