Travellers' Choice
Welcome to Gone Fishing! Our family cottages are located in Deori ,some 500 metres upstream from where the Kalwari Nullah merges with the Tirthan River. We are within the eco-zone of the Great Himalayan National Park, an unmatched UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hemmed by orchards and step farming fields on one side, pine and deodar forests on another, our cottages are quite literally cushioned in nature's lap.

HOLIDAYING at the scenic tirthan valley coupled with a luxuriously comfortable stay at Gone Fishing Cottages( GFC) made my trip super fantastic. Every aspect of my stay at GFC stands out vividly in my memory. The cottages are artistically done up. Rooms are clean, big and cozy. Bathroom have running Hot water 24/7. The kitchenette is well stocked with a fridge, oven, microwave. Plenty of pretty lamps at every corner. The food is super scrumptious. Everything on the menu that I ordered was prepared to perfection. Tasty, fresh and hygienic. The staff was mannerful, well dressed and efficient. The charm to the place is added by The hosts Upendra and Dimple who are a very Sweet and a loving couple. They made sure I had a fun and comfortable stay. They were the link between me and the other guests staying there and this brought us all together like one big family partying together. The meals were a fun time. We'd all get together and the party would begin. Someone would sing a song another would play the guitar , the outdoor barbecues , the dips in the river in the afternoon Sun made my vacation a perfect one. I'd love to keep visiting this place again and again and also recommend others to do so! Thanks Upendra and Dimple , the beautiful couple who've made a permanent place in my heart. 💕

Gone fishing cottages is a rare Gem set amidst the breathtaking tirthan valley. It's a pretty place in and of itself. Every corner at the place is a piece of art. I'd love going through the excellent collection of books stacked inside the cottage. I enjoyed the indoors as well as the outdoors just the same . The cottage is a complete home in itself . A big and bright room with a really comfortable bed. A nice bath with hot water available all the time. A kitchen stocked with all the amenities and a nice big living room to lounge around in. The pretty sitting area outside the cottage with hanging potted blooms opens up to a beautiful view of the mountains. A perfect place to sit with a book and a steaming mug of coffee. I'd really forward to meal times because the food was absolutely YUMM! Lot of food varieties offered on the menu including the local delicacies like siddu and bicchu buti ka saag made a foodie like me Glad. The care and comfort provided by the hosts and their staff is truly appreciated. The hosts, Upendra and Dimple a loving couple and so cool to hang out with made my trip especially wonderful. Their deep knowledge of the valley, its' flora and fauna, the local culture ,love and respect for nature made for not just a learning experience but also left a lasting impression on me. Gone fishing is truly a home away from home. It's the number one holiday destination for me to unwind relax and just Be.

I reviewed Gone Fishing Cottages during my last visit in October 2019. As it was evident from my review, GFC truly left no stone unturned to make my stay a memorable one and ensured that I left that place with nothing but good memories... enough to last a lifetime. I must admit that I was a little apprehensive about coming back here as I didn't want to tarnish the glorious memories I had of GFC and replace those... perhaps with some not so glorious ones. Seldom does it happen that a place you visit for the second time can mange your expectations and ensure a repetition of emotions from your first visit there. GFC does just that and so much more. The rooms are as rustic and comfortable as ever, the flowers are in full bloom and the brook acts like a baby, crawling through the country-side inviting you to submerge yourself in it on a bright sunny day. The Hosts, Dimple and Uppi along with their team are extremely hospitable and helpful, on hand to help you with anything and everything, all with a smile on their face. Between the plethora of activities like angling and trekking and the comfort of Gone Fishing Cottages, truly there's no other place to be in this side of the Himalayas. As I quoted from my last review of GFC from the plaque that hangs in their dining room, " May all who enter as strangers leave as Family," I say to my GFC Family now that I'll be back very very soon. Keep up the good work and keep doing whatever it is you're doing. Cheers!!

To describe my wonderful experience of staying at Gone Fishing Cottages would take up a huge amount of space. There is so much I want to write in detail about the amazing time I had here that a few words would do little justice. But still I'd say, My holiday at GFC was immaculate and charming in every way. The cottages are spacious, clean, cozy comfortable, well ventilated and bright. The personal touch with which each cottage is done up speaks volumes of the classy taste of the Hosts. Uniquely designed with detailed attention to comfort and decor. One wakes up to the twittering sounds of a hundred different kinds of birds which is so thrilling. The stream just outside the resort is perfectly refreshing for a cool dip in the afternoon sun. The menu is very impressive. Surely there isn't another place one would find Fresh, hygienically prepared mouth watering food to die for. The property sits prettily amidst the scenic Valley with massive mountains on all sides and lush green pine and deodar trees. The staff was courteous and helpful which made my stay so smooth and comfortable. Last but not the least, I want to say a Huge Thank you to the rocking couple and Hosts ,Upendra and Dimple. I owe my flawless experience of staying at GFC to you Guys! The personal attention, thoughtfulness, warmth and care will always be fondly remembered. This is definitely one of the best holidays I've had. It was like such a big party I had everyday with you guys! I look forward to many many more such vacations at Gone Fishing cottages.

We wander places in search of contentment, joy and peace. Some serve our purpose, some supersede the purpose and land you in a zone of constant happiness, love and warmth, Gone fishing cottages is one of them. I spent a week of fun filled days with my husband at their magnificent property and we couldn't have asked for more. Dimple and Uppi were by far the most warm hosts we've ever come across. The cottages are spacious, dwelled with modern art and cater to your comfort stay. The view from the valley is whimsical and leaves you with goosebumps as you breathe the first morning fresh air. To top the desirability of this place, they serve you with their awesome food made and served with absolute love. lf you are at Tirthan, there's no other place to be.
