My family of 5 (2 teenage girls and my 72 year old mom) visited Morgan's Rock and had a fantastic time. The place is beautiful, service is great and the food is wonderful.

I stayed at Morgan's Rock over Memorial Day weekend. Although it rained most of the time, the rain did not negatively impact our experience. The food served at the hotel is likely some of the best in Nicaragua and the staff's attention to detail is...More

I’ve traveled all over the world, more than 60 countries, and Nicaragua is not a destination where I ever felt unsafe. All of the people we met were extremely gracious, helpful and friendly. Exceptionally so, particularly at Morgan’s Rock. Not only was safety not an issue, but I never had the feeling that people were trying to rip me off. It was a very enjoyable and peaceful experience.

The bungalows and villas all have screened in areas (like where the bed is), as well as outdoor space, but the structures are mostly made of wood, and aren’t exactly hermetically sealed. My wife and I spent a week there in December and there were almost no bugs. In fact, we never had any inside our room, but the potential is certainly there, and I imagine it has a lot to do with the time of year you’re there, plus a little luck. If you’re very, very squeamish about insects and spiders and scorpions, it might not be the perfect place for you...That said, it’s an eco-lodge in Nicaragua, and is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been in the whole world, so my personal opinion is that the experience is more than worth a potential encounter with a creepy crawly or two.
