Camped here at highlanders. Gorgeous setting. Loved the wine tasting. My favourite part was the open window showers with sweeping views of the vineyards. Only stayed a night on a Cape Town to Vic Falls camping trip. The sunset over the Cederberg Mountains was spectacular.
Stayed here as part of an overland trip heading north so didn’t upgrade as it was the first night camping! I guess the owner is an ex-overlander so understands how to cater for these groups. It’s a working farm and the camping facilities and rooms are being upgraded all the time which is good. Highly recommend the wine tasting..... ZAR 100 for a generous slug of six different wines, all presented by a very amusing and knowledgable manager in the most beautiful of locations. The wines are not bottled at Highlanders but the grapes are grown on the farm and sold to the local vintners - all available for purchase too!
Beautiful views, really good wine tasting and a neat & clean campsite. Nice hot showers. Marno and Sparky are really helpful, friendly, caring and informative. They know their wines! Love camping here!
I was here for 1 night in a tent at the end of an Intrepid tour. The camping area was grass and the facilities were excellent – well maintained and clean. Most of the group joined the wine tasting (only ZAR100) and a good time was had by all.
The view and property is beautiful and breathtaking. The pool and bar are tastefully done and it's a great property in general. I came there with a group and had been camping as part of a three week tour and treated myself to a room for a night and received very poor service. When I checked in I asked if there was someone that could help me with my bags, I was given a simple, "No", so I carried all of my heavy bags up the hill/stairs by myself. Well ahead of time, I spoke with the manager to tell him I needed a I needed a night to myself, and I was told that would not be possible because there is absolutely no food in the rooms. He tried to see what he could do, but the owner refused this request, with no exceptions. I'm 40 years old and I'm not "allowed" to eat in a room?…
