I stayed here recently for 1 night in the lodge. The room was a good size, with air conditioning but no WiFi. Dinner was fairly basic, and there were very limited options for breakfast. Friendly staff.

Stunning views, well equipped modern lodges, wine tasting with a knowledgeable and entertaining host. Well maintained grounds and pool with easy access to swim in the river. Good food available and a well stocked bar. Definitely worth a return visit.

Highly recommended. Amazing views & venue & such value for money. A group of us stayed there for the weekend as we had entered the stunning Vines & Views MTB event. Everyone loved it. Our host, Mike Nuttall, was fabulous. We kayaked on the river & our breakfast was awesome. Everything was so clean, our rooms were lovely & the braai, bar & pool areas were stunning.

The rooms are very comfortable. Mike, the host goes out of his way to make you comfortable. Loved going kayaking in the morning, followed by the delicious breakfast spread he offered to provide us. Will definitely go back! Great location for mountain bikers

We could not fault this campsite if we tried. Beautiful lawn areas in shaded area makes for relaxed, happy camping. Extremely clean ablutions with sublime views and piping hot water for showering. Arriving to a delicious cooked meal (optional) was a real treat as we enjoyed our meal and sundowners looking onto the Cedarberg. The kids had an absolute blast in the swimming pool, river, riding their bikes and playing in the play area. Although, to be honest, I'm not sure who had more fun - the parents or the kids. Fantastic hosting, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back. Extremely highly recommended.

We have just come from a super weekend at Highlanders. Attentive hosts, safe, spotless ablutions, lush lawns, shade, views, guided walk, canoeing, stunning catering for late arrival on Friday night, sparkling pool, private playgroup for kids. One does not get better for a small group and camping near cars with kids. Highly recommended.

The team at highlanders is the best I've ever had the pleasure of staying with. Their attention to detail and hospitality make this place a no brainer when it comes to deciding where to stay. The views from the lodge are incredible and the pool definintely helps when the temperature goes up. The rooms were clean and well maintained, as was the rest of the property. I could tell you they have great cooks, but you have to try the food to really believe it for yourself!

6th year to stay with Sparky and his amazing team and always the best stay in South Africa! Yes, this gorgeous, quiet lodge in the middle of North-Western Cape is such a retreat, my groups never want to leave. The open fire, food cooked on the spit, and a great selection of wines, make Highlanders my go-to favorite getaway in Western Cape. The lodge rooms have great beds, are always super clean, and have all the amenities of a great resort. It's so well taken care of that it looks new. The food is amazing, with the best local chefs making both meat and veg dishes. I have never camped there but I have met many campers that love the views, the quiet site, the friendly dogs (Jeff and Ben) that greet you every morning, and great facilities at the camp. Can't wait until August when I get to go back.…
