We stayed at this place for two nightS. The room was one of the best we have stayed in over the years we have stayed at motel all over Australia. We had a Jing size bed plus a single bed. The room as very clean. The bathroom has rain shower head. Hot water started as I turned on the water and the pressure was great. The staff were good and nothing appeared to be any trouble. If we ever have any reason to come to this area again we would no stay anywhere else.

Pros - Very, very clean! Very spacious, TV in the room, close to everything you need such as takeaways, coles, the beach etc, free WiFi, free parking, powerful shower, mini fridge in room. Cons - The bed was really uncomfortable. It was quite hard and the pillows weren't soft. It was also advertised as a double, but felt like two singles pushed together. The room also had tea + coffee but no milk for a coffee in the morning. The room was definitely not worth $175 a night in my opinion. It was nice, and very clean, but I think somewhere more in the region of $110-$120 is more a realistic reflection of the room.

Response from Andrew Ryder, Owner at Dolphin Shores
Responded 30 Mar 2021
Hi, We are sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. Jervis Bay is the most expensive area between Sydney and Melbourne and it's impossible to find accommodation at our standard any cheaper in this area. In fact, sub-standard accommodation around Jervis Bay is far more expensive than Dolphin Shores. Our king size ensemble beds are carefully selected from the top of the range of King Coil beds that suit the majority of travellers which are firm but soft. Standard Rooms have a split-king with a mattress topper and mattress protector that allows us to be flexible with guests that require separate beds. We concede that these beds will not suit 100% of our guests and also know that there is no bed that does. Nevertheless, many guests ask for the details of these beds and pillows, as they find them the most comfortable that they have slept on as can also be read on numerous reviews. Again, we are sorry that our beds were not suited to your preference. All of our rooms have assorted teas including herbal teas, coffee, biscuits and milk in the refrigerator. It is highly possible that our housekeepers missed putting milk in your refrigerator and we apologise for that oversight and we would have been more that happy to furnish you with some milk if we were asked. On check-in we tell ALL of our guests to call us from their rooms, or come back to the office if they require anything and we will organise it promptly. Again, we are sorry that you were not happy with the comfort provided by our beds and pillows.

We were greeted by Andrew who is incredibly passionate about the area and can recommend everything from what/where to eat, to which beaches are best, to facts on the wildlife. He made us feel very welcome. The room was great. Very clean and the cleaning service provided was great. It is within walking distance of lovely beaches, shops and other amenities. Parking is right outside your door. We can't wait to come back to Dolphin Shores!

Andrew checked us in and gave us heaps of good info on what to see, how long things take to do, places to grab food, beaches etc. The rooms themselves were super clean and very comfortable and have aircon and modern bathrooms. Huskisson is about 4km away from here and there’s only one local taxi service (St. Georges Basin Taxi Service Jervis Bay) and one or two uber drivers around. I think it’s worth mentioning that Uber can only take 3 passengers right now due to COVID, but the taxi service have a maxi taxi in their fleet. FYI for the Taxi service, you need to call by 9:30pm/9:45pm to book a ride back to the motel. They are not a 24/7 service!

Super happy with this motel. Close to multiple beaches, shopping centres and other amazing local places to visit. The motel is lovely. Absolutely immaculate, with spacious and spotless rooms. The rooms contain everything that you could need. Easy to DIY breakfast. Our room had a fridge, kettle and toaster...and there was a microwave in the guest laundry, just steps away if needed . ( washing line provided also) Most rooms seemed to be fully self contained though. Our room had a huge king bed which is the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for years. We also had a large couch and single bed. The bathroom was very modern with all the toiletries you would need. There was plenty of tea and coffee and a small milk to get you started. Wine glasses provided too. Due to covid ,the small pool is closed and room services have ceased but a quick phone call will get towels replaced and toiletries replaced . Andrew the owner is a mine of information and extremely helpful. Can definitely recommend this establishment...
