My partner and I stayed for three nights and we loved everything about the Hotel. The mix of the old palace with its stunning rooms with the modern accommodation was very tastefully done. The staff were helpful and friendly, the food particularly breakfast was high quality, we sat in the courtyard garden one morning and didn’t want to leave! We will definitely return many thanks to all for making our stay so enjoyable
We tried to visit this pousada which has a renowned interior and beautiful gardens to see if we liked it enough to book a room in the future. But were denied entry! Covid was given as the reason. Not only that but the receptionist was, sadly, brusque and dismissive. Not a good ambassador for the establishment, where a pleasant and friendly attitude is so important. Needless to say, we will not be booking a room at this pousada. There are.many others where a welcome is par for the course, and one would be glad to stay.
Beautiful and quiet hotel in a historical place. It was a real pleasure to be there. Service is perfect. The bedding is very comfortable. And a perfect location to visit Algarve. Only 20 minutes drive from the Aeroport Breakfast is very good. And the restaurant with a local food must be tried!
The property is truly stunning: a well restored historical Baroque palace is home to most public spaces, including living rooms and the restaurant, also fitted with a wonderful terrace. Alas, the rooms are located in a new building that really does not stand to the level of the promise. Bland and boring, if properly done, they offer the typical international 4* hotel room standard, period. Bedding is not as comfortable as one could expect, and if the linen is good, the pillows are truly average. This hotel is however advertised as a 5* property, but truly does not provide the level of service one could expect from a hotel of that standing... perhaps 4*S? - The swimming pool if well located, is ridiculously small and with so much chlorine one's skins burns. - The parking garage does not even hold the cars of half of the guests. One often needs to leave the car outside and no proper shade is provided for all remaining vehicles. - The restaurant has great service, but the food is of average standardsnothing to review aboutis above average, but not much and not particularly economical given the standards it offers (staff was really pleasant, however)has 5* hotel prices but the cuisine is really not up to par. - There is no concierge service to help people who would like to know more about the region (in two instances information provided was approximate and the result of a search on internet, not first hand experience or real knowledge). This hotel, located by the highway (one can actually hear it from the rooms) is convenient for a one night stop in the middle of a trip, and the hotel staff is prompt to cater to those people, showing no interest for people who booked for an extended stay. One typical example is the staff does not consider replenishing complimentary water bottles after the 1st night!! Also: I booked through Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH.com), and the prices were significantly higher than Booking.com who offered bargain prices to fill the hotel. Once again, it is quite clear what profile of clients this hotel primarily caters to. Quite a disappointing experience!!…
This is such a wondeful place. We loved our stay. The pool is beautiful and clean overlooking the mountains and the small village. the area around the pool was nice, quiet and spaceous. Friendly and excellent service, everything was perfect for us as a small family. Highly recommendable.
