We booked into a two person classic room, which had basic amenities and was very clean. We wish there was a stove plate atleast, we had to make do with a microwave. The TVs could use updating too.
If you want peace and quite this is a great place, just make sure to bring all you need because the shops in town close very early. We enjoyed being able to see zebras and nyala from our rooms. They were peacefully drinking water a couple of meters away.
There aren't many activities in the lodge except going for a bush walk or having a braai.
there are activities nearby out the lodge which we didnt bother with. Overall its a good place.

I spent an hour waiting outside the gate for someone to open. There were nobody to receive me as all the staff went to town. No one in reception and I was instructed by the maid to sit in my car, this after 2 hours drive. When I finally got through the gates the made arranged a key for my room. The room is below average. There is various crack in the walls and the BIC does not have doors. The TV in the rooms are 20cm and of poor quality ( signal) with SABC 1,2 and 3 only. Plates were dirty. The tea towel was dirty. There is a sign up saying please leave the kitchen and dishes clean but no dishwashing liquid to wash up . The bathrooms are fitted with a shower. There is hardly any water pressure and No hot water. The security is also suspect as this facility Is on the outskirts of town and therefore Unsafe. They advertise all the game with Zebras ect. All I saw was a donkey on my way out . I left quite early as I could not sleep with the road noise . There is a highway running adjacent to the property. The braai area is quite far from the rooms and is not private. I will definitely not be returning.

We spent the night at Paradise Lodge on Apr. 22, 2014 and wished we had planned to stay several nights. The rooms were so inviting and immaculate. We were welcomed and our requests were handled quickly. The pool area and landscaping are beautiful in the secure setting. We saw nyala grazing outside our rooms the next morning! We didn't stay long enough to see other animals or to hike. Our loss. We would like to come back.

Next to a highway, across from a cemetery, adjacent to an informal settlement, no game as advertised on website, unless you are happy to see one njala in a field with along with cattle. Outdoor seating overlooking the cattle feels like sitting in someone's back yard on gravel - quite uncomfortable and not suitable for children. The tea towel and sponge date from the previous century - I would not use them to wash my car, let alone dishes. I would advise the management to remove the sable antelope from their website.

5 of us couples had the unfortunate experience of spending the week end at Paradise Lodge from 6/12/13 -8/12/13. Our plan was to go for a relaxing week end holiday only for my wife to wake me up screaming at 23h30 on Saturday night with a burglar in our room overlooking my wife and I. This intruder had managed to cut through the surrounding perimeter fencing, and after a failed attempt of breaking into my next door friends rooms (as my friend was petrified and placed a sleeper bed against the door), managed to break open our door and steal my wives ring, both our phones and her handbag with all our money, wallets purses, IDs etc.
We believe the robbers tried to break in actually on the Friday night at 02h30 but my wife woke up in tears and shock at the sound of 2 men whispering outside our room, they managed to cut the fence and would return though.
I just write this message to make you aware of the place as you drive through a very dangerous location to get to the venue and thereby the surrounding area is not safe. I have nothing wrong with the owner (that said we can pay half for the 2nd night although we ALL left in fear and tears for home at 02h00 and did not sleep over) or the police service that took 2 hours to get there to protect us and take our statement. I just have to put this up for my sanity to ensure that if you go to Paradise Lodge, its a tidy and VERY secluded place, but unless they put up extra security, BEWARE...
