After the stress and strain of the past months it was a great to relax here in Olde World charm in a modern setting – we were here for four nights B & B and on two nights ate in with a table of the house offering that did not disappoint – the owners were in residence and could not do enough to make us welcome and comfortable – quality period furniture and bric-a-brac - well positioned to explore this lovelly part of the Drakensburg
Positives (rating 4) Lovely establishment. Fantastic view. Hosts were super accommodating. Very homely feel to the place with many great pieces of classic antique furniture. Good quality food. Negatives (less 1 point) A lovely dinner was nearly ruined by scalding hot sauces/soup. My late breakfast on other hand served up cold. Very thin walls and layout of the place means one can hear dinner, chatting, loud music from bedroom which really detracted from the peacefulness I was expecting. Housekeeping could do with some attention to removing spiders and cleaning carpets.
The lodge itself is fantastic, located on a hill which overlooks the mountains. We stayed here for 7 days and can not fault accommodation, room and service was excellent. Breakfast was superb however the evening meal was a little on the small side portion wise and in my view a little disappointing.
Amazing view, very comfortable. Super quired. The couple who own the place make you feel at home. Their pets are very nice. Food is delicious. We highly recomend that place. We hope to go back there..
