Although a lovely setting, good luck trying to get a decent night's sleep here. There seem to be no rules for noisy guests... .we had terrible sleep both nights of our stay. We won't be visiting again.
Worse experience ever booked through stayfortlong I booked a twin three bedroom only to be placed In a small one bedroom with no accessories the one i had booked had a pool and it was self catering worse weekend I will never use this site again had no assistance and the manager kept on saying I have to speak to them because I booked with I even wanted to leave but couldn't because they wouldn't refund me 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
The chalets is absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the farm house. We had 4 bedrooms, 3 en-suites, big open plan dining, kitchen & lounge, a pool & heated jacuzzi. We had breathtaking views of the the mountains and dam from the deck. No pets are allowed. The resort had activities to keep u busy the whole day. The road to the resort is very bad with lots of potholes & lasts for a few metres. I will definitely be back!
The room was well equipped and very nicely decorated. Overall would stay again, stunning views etc. If I had to add something maybe a microwave. Double units do not cater for food in the room so add a budget for the restaurant. Maintenance was good very minor things to be done.
We spent 6 nights here, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the double room with a patio, which had stunning views of the mountains. Although I would suggest if you are staying here for longer than 2 nights to book their one bed self catering unit. There aren't many options in the area to eat dinner and you won't want to drive on these roads at night. We would have preferred self catering for some of the evenings. The resort offers many activities to choose from and it caters well for families with children. Overall a lovely stay!
Cayley mountain resort is by far one of the best family holiday destinations in the Drakensberg region. Excellent, well appointed self catering units with a home away from home feel. Very friendly and efficient staff. Lots of activities for the kids, especially the 'beach club'. Will highly recommend for families with small kids. Best of all is the private jacuzzi overlooking the magnificent mountains. Compliments to the staff and admin. for the memorable vacation.
Wow wow and wow. We feel so blessed to have started out marriage at this beautiful resort. The view stole our heats, the activities kept us busy, the staff was great (Milldred you are so sweet), this is wat dreams are made of. Regards Roelof & Mandie Schoeman
Myself, my Wife, daughter and her friend booked in for the weekend, we arrived late Friday afternoon to find the entrance gate quite busy but the security gaurd was very efficient with getting vehicles through the gate and recording down all the necessary covid info requirements. The staff at reception where also very efficient, friendly and upbeat. The chalets are spacious, well kept and sufficiently stocked with the essential goodies for eating off of and preparing food, the restaurant on-site offers great meals if you don't want to cook for yourself. The coffee shop and tea room makes amazing milkshakes while also stocking some essential things for braais and the like. The grounds are well kept and offer lots for the kids to unwind and play, my daughter and friend especially loved the fun flatables at the bell park dam. Don't be shy go here, we will certainly not hesitate to go again. …
This is a great option for a family getaway in the Berg. Our unit was spacious with very nice finishes. We had jacuzzi too which was awesome. The resort is quite big so you may have to drive a Short distance (or take a long walk) to get to the main pool and kids play area from some of the units. Being in the middle of a drought during our visit, the water park at the dam was not open. There is also a fly problem in the area so plenty of flies about, although they really try to keep it controlled at the resort and the resort itself is clean, but it’s a problem of the wider region.
Great venue, wonderful views and good facilities. The restaurant however leaves much to be desired. Of the 5 meals we had there, 4 were served cold. Following complaints 4 "sorry's" were received with little change. Simple things such as making use of hot plates are not implemented. What is missing is passion and what is present is indifference and complacency. I believe the resort and restaurant are 2 separate entities. Following this review I suppose a fifth "sorry" will be received with no prospect of any real commitment for change.
