Rohet Garh is a classified Heritage Hotel. Since 1989 it has been nurtured and developed with great love and care by the family into one of the finest Heritage hotels in the country. No new building has been added in the renovation process, but rather, old edifices have been skillfully redesigned to create a heritage property that has few parallels. Situated on the banks of a lake and set in the midst of rural surroundings, it is a haven of peace and tranquility. Sprawling lawns and manicured gardens, which invite a multitude of birds and dancing peacocks, herald your entry into this oasis where the bird song is the only sound you will hear. A superb swimming pool with four charming pavilions entices you for a refreshing dip. Often dinner is served by the poolside as folk musicians enliven the evening atmosphere. An elegant, beautifully appointed lounge, serene verandahs, and terraces with breathtaking views, make perfect venues for relaxation. The thirty-four individually decorated rooms add a touch of class. Pioneers of activities such as ‘The Village Safari’, and offering an array of activities- from an extensive equestrian program to culinary workshops, Rohet Garh has set the highest standards in quality and efficiency, offering its guests an experience beyond compare. Rohet Garh proudly boasts of the finest kitchens in traditional cuisine. The chefs have been trained by the lady of the house, the late Thakurani Sahiba, who was the author of Cuisine of Rohet Garh and Quick and Easy Rajasthani Cuisine, the former published due to popular demand from our guests. Many have called their meal at Rohet Garh, their best in India. The peace and tranquility of the environs have drawn writers from around the world. Rohet Garh has had the honour of hosting some of the most respected names in the literary world. Bruce Chatwin and William Dalrymple practically lived at Rohet Garh for four to five months working on their respective books, The Song-lines and The City of Djinns. Patrick French too is a friend of the family’s and has spent time at Rohet Garh, as did Simon Winchester and Jeffery Morehouse Hotel Facility – Horse Safari Village Safari Royal Picnic Bird Watching Cooking Classes 24 Hour Front Desk Magic Show and Rajasthani Folk on Request Bar & Restaurant SPA – Chargeable Car Rental – Chargeable Currency Exchange Gift Shop Facility for physically Challenged People Florist Health & Ayurveda Centres Internet Access on Common Area Laundry Services Library Lounge Luggage Storage Doctor on Call Parking Telephone in Room Shopping Arcade Travel Desk Airport & Railway Station Pick and Drop - Chargeable Room Types - We have Two Room Types in Rohet Garh - Super Deluxe Room and Suite Room Room Category Under Super Deluxe Room Pool View Super Deluxe Room Lake View Super Deluxe Room Garden View Super Deluxe Room Regular Super Deluxe Room Content Room Facility and Inclusion for Super Deluxe Rooms In Rohet Garh all rooms are unique , boasting its own special Feature , all the while being welcoming and intimate. On arrival at Rohet Garh we were guided straight to the beautiful garden for a refreshing lime and soda before being shown to our lovely heritage room which had two floors – a downstairs bedroom with seating area, and another upstairs seating area leading onto a balcony. Unfortunately, the balcony was completely unfurnished so we did not use it, but in the end that did not matter as there were plenty of other peaceful areas in which to relax, including a lovely tented area with day beds.

Other guests seemed to spend a night or two at most, which is understandable when people often have packed itineraries, but our priority for this trip was the opportunity to relax, experience the slower pace of rural India, and fully enjoy our surroundings. We spent four nights at Rohet Garh and the days flew by. One day was spent visiting the Mehrangarh Fort and having lunch in Jodhpur (a delicious meal at Pal Haveli). We visited the local Bishnoi and Brahmin villages and took part in a cookery demonstration, and the rest of the time we simply relaxed, read, ate and drank. There is a small lake nearby for an evening stroll. The food was very good, although on our first night we had the buffet thinking it was the only option, and that was a mistake. On subsequent nights we ate a la carte outside on the lawn as local musicians played haunting music.

The charming General Manager, Vimal, was constantly on hand to assist, and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has bags of character and is beautifully decorated, and is a wonderful alternative to staying in Jodhpur, which is still within easy reach for a day trip.

What a magical place to stay.. A friendly and helpful welcome, the staff could not do enough to make us comfortable. The first appearance was that of magnificent house with amazingly well kept gardens. The rooms were unusual, individual and clean to a very high standard as well as beig so so comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed and spacious. The dining room could be described as romantic overlooking the pool which at night was illuminated giving off a wonderful atmosphere. The bedrooms are situated around the gardens offering privacy and a garden atmosphere. Overall a really wonderful experience.

I had my heart set to visit Rohetgarh since long, and thankfully enough could this for my mum's 70th birthday this month.
Couldn't have asked for a better place to be with my family on this special occasion.
Rohetgarh is literally a gem of a place with a beautiful architecture where so much is preciously preserved of the past. It's got beautiful rooms that blend in with the culture and the Heritage of the place. The rooms, specially the ones facing the lake are a joy to be in. They have wonderful seating overlooking the lake where one could sit for hours !!
The gardens are so so pretty and full of blooms everywhere the eye goes and the place is very well maintained itself. It's nothing but pleasure to live at a place like this which has got such a rich history to it.
If you are an avid rider, you are in for a treat with the stables having some stunning marwari horses..
There are a few activities to do around the place. Don't miss out on cycling in the mornings towards the country side.. And the black buck safari is a must do as well !!

The staff deserves a huge shoutout for the way they serve the guests. Always polite, with a smile and genuinely wanting the guests to have a great experience.

Last but not the least, Mr Vimal kakakoti who is the man and the force behind running this place is a wonderful person to meet. He truly took care of all our needs, was constantly checking on us and surprisingly always there to greet us no matter what time of the day it was... He was amazingly patient in showing us around, answering zillion questions and he organised the best dinner ever at Mihirgarh (another property by the House of Rohet which just shouldn't be missed out !!)

A heritage property located in midst of Rohet village has an essence of soothing aura about it. The suites they have are varied sizes and decor based on the original architecture design of 16th century building as they claim. The interiors have a quaint feel about its furnishings, other amenities being modern & maintained. This is a place just exclusively to relax and spend peaceful time as there's not much outside the premises except a village water reservoir at 5 minutes walking distance. Mr Vimal Kaka is the manager who personally oversees the guest's comforts. All in all a place to spend in peace at a heritage property.

The property is a nice heritage property & a decent property to stay but it is not a luxury property as has been reviewed. The biggest issue has been they have not categorized rooms properly & call all good & bad rooms super deluxe rooms but they should be categorized as suite rooms, super deluxe rooms & standard rooms.
Few rooms are too small like a room in some pole area building. We had paid for super deluxe rooms but few of us got such a small room that it was not enough for even a couple to stay. We had paid for super deluxe rooms but had to stay in rooms which could be said of standard category & they are basically staff quarters converted into rooms & so had no charm, luxe or standards of a heritage property.
They requested us to stay in decent room for a day saying ours had been late check in even when it was a prepaid in advance booking.
We were promised to get upgraded to proper room for all indecent rooms we had gotten but that too wasn’t done & couple of us had to bear the indecent experience.

It was a good waste of money & most importantly a wasted vacation!!

This is probably the nicest place we have ever stayed in. From the second you arrive one feels welcomed and nurtured. We were shown into the beautiful garden and were able to relax with a drink before any formalities which was a welcome change. Our suite was stunning with fabulous views of the lake - and full of historic character. The food was excellent on all occassions and varied. Every evening local musicians and a magician entertained us and they were good. We took several excursions from here; visiting the Bishnoi peoples, jeep safari and birdwatching. Our visit to Jodhpur and the Fort was truly memorable. There is so much to do and see in this area, plus the village and its residents are charming. Thank you to all the staff and the owners, you are providing a fantastic service.

This was one of the best stays we've had for a while. The hotel itself is beautiful, with blooming gardens and elegant sitting areas. The bedroom was situated in an old building overlooking the lake at the back, with great antique furniture and furnishings. It was a truly atmospheric place, with a great team of people who greeted us warmly and supported and helped us at every turn. The food was excellent, with some really tasty regional recipes. In the evening, we would sit outside under the lovely trees and listen to a concert of Rajasthani music while sipping first-class cocktails and waiting for dinner. We also found the Village Safari to be a worthwhile experience - we saw some blackbuck and a blue bull and visited some communities in the vicinity (the Bishnoi people and a Brahmin community, who showed us lovely hospitality). All in all, the perfect stay!

There really isn't much that I could suggest in terms of improving the quality of the hotel facilities or services on offer. Perhaps, looking for ways to improve the wi fi connection would be one such suggestion: it is currently achieved through a dongle and we had endless problems with it - the dongle either needed recharging (it does not hold its charge for long) or the hotel needed to renew its payment for the service, se we struggled with achieving seamless connection.

Robert Gahr is set in a fort in a desert village 40 kms from Jodphur. It is contrast to the bustle of Jodphur and contains beautiful gardens, fountains , an extensive grassed courtyard and a pool. It’s next to a lake across from a small local temple. From our room we could watch peacocks nest in the evening outside our room and there were many water birds on the lake. The room was situated next to verandah with a covered outdoor lounging area, which then looked out to the gardens of the courtyard. It was decorated beautifully in local fabrics, cushions and mats and came with a living area and each large window incorporated a daybed to lounge upon. Breakfast was served in the downstairs restaurant and dinner at night on the roof.

We arrived in the early evening to a magical grassed courtyard twinkling with lights and musicians playing on a raised stage. It didn't stop there - our room directly overlooked the lake (one morning found a pair of owlets sitting in the tree outside the window). The whole place is very beautiful and the interior decoration is a perfect complement. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here (sadly only 2 nights), including the village safari to a Bishnoi and Brahmin village with superb sightings of the blackbuck antelopes. The evening meals and breakfasts were also very good.

Everyone says a Standard Indian Plug but remember a Standard Indian Plug is a unique thing! You can buy adaptors online and I think would be wise to do so.
