We booked a full day spa and sleep over, the spa was great but there's a lack of security at night. No locked gates at night no security at all especially considering that the location is not far from the main road. Ligthing was also bad. We felt unsafe and left after we informed management, no response from management.

Spa treatments were fine. Huge negative was it was very noisy with children screaming 5m away. Nothing was sanitized. Spa treatments needs serenity and quietness and there was non of that.

Quite dissatisfied.

My husband and I went to the spa at Tangaroa about a year ago! We were greeted by our hosts and ushered into a warm outdoor table where we were served with a delicious breakfast. The spa room was themed with a trendy African design that reflected the environment of this part of the magaliesburg. Massages and oils were of high quality. Room was comfortable for the remainder of the day. Would definitely go back.

Recently visited the strawberry farm over the weekend and I have to admit it turned out to be tons of fun.

The entrance fee covers entry to the strawberry fields where you can eat at many strawberries as you want as well as access to a quaint picnic area next to a little dam.

My advice is to go early and walk to the furtherest fields from the entrance, this will
give you the best chance to find delicious strawberries.

The strawberries are safe to eat direct from the fields but there are two taps available to wash the strawberries before you eat them.

The coffee shop on the farm has the most amazing strawberry waffles don’t leave before trying them out.

Ps - if you intend to take strawberries home, don’t wash them. If you wash them they will become mushy.

We booked for the afternoon spa treatment which included lunch, a strawberry daiquiri, and 3 massages - head, neck, and shoulder; foot; and full body. Staff didn’t know what was going on, the spa clients seemed to be the last people on their priority list.

Our lunch was chicken and fish strips, chips, and a salad of mostly lettuce. Dessert was the option of ice cream and chocolate sauce or poached pear and ice cream. The pear was cold and lying in watery syrup that didn’t taste sweet at all. The daiquiri was too sweet to drink!

Spa room had no music playing so the atmosphere was not relaxing at all. The massages weren’t great either, they used grape seed oil which didn’t leave me smelling good. The massages themselves weren’t relaxing, they were all back-to-back without time to even have a drink between treatments, and the therapists didn’t seem to know what they were doing.

There’s such a good opportunity here to incorporate strawberries into every aspect of the experience, such as a strawberry dessert, strawberry scrubs, candles, massage oils, etc. They’ve completely wasted this opportunity.

The spa package was meant to be 12pm until 4pm. In reality, it was 12:30pm until 3pm, not at all what I paid for!

The staff were very unfriendly and we paid R280 (2 adults and 1 child) just to find a handful of strawberries (the once we manage to get before the insects). Safe yourself the effort and time. I would suggest to show the people the fields before you make them pay for something really not worth the money.

I was a little unsure on how to rate this. Our initial intention of visiting the farm was to take the time to go and pick strawberries. However, after speaking to someone who had just finished picking, they were disappointed that there were that many strawberries to pick, but she mentioned that the mulberries were worth it.

With that disappointment, we decided to give the strawberry picking a skip and instead went to the restaurant for dessert, and this did not disappoint. We had the decadent strawberry waffles (which we shared) and milkshakes (I had the real banana and my boyfriend had the strawberry one, and they were amazing!).

So I guess, overall, even though I was disappointed by not being able to pick strawberries, the dessert definitely made the trip worth it.

If I could give negative stars I would. We planned to pick strawberries and the breakfast at the restaurant. On arrival we needed the loo desperately. Went to restaurant where the manager chased us out. We went strawberry picking, there is weeds everywhere, no pathways, not tap or water to rinse strawberries. Not worth the price. And needless to say we didn't breakfast there after the treatment we got over a bathroom

We booked 2 nights over a long weekend break. The rooms smelt musty and the bathroom was dirty. I could not bring myself to stay and made alternate sleeping arrangements. The spa treatment was ok and so was the breakfast served. I will definitely not recommend the accommodation.

This was a really bad experience. Paid R360 to found limited to no strawberries. Fields not maintained, so sad. Complete disappointment. Staff is friendly and there is room for a nice picnic. We left to eat somewhere else.
