The owners of Die Ou Pastorie make you feel as if you are a member of their family from the moment you step onto the property... this is a small, boutique-y place with old world charm. Rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast and dinner delicious! Would come back here in a heartbeat if we are ever in that part of the world again.

Very comfortable and convenient overnight before early morning balloon 'safari'. We arrived late but were still able to order a bottle of wine to enjoy with a dinner that had been prepared for us in out room

Beautiful setting, beautiful outdoor area, great band. Unfortunately the service was terrible. We had to keep calling the runner to find our waiter. Table of 5 only 2 dishes were good namely the butter curry. Pork belly had loads of fat and crackling was rubber. Duck pie was average woth little filling and. veggie burger was also average. Food not worth the price we paid. Expensive menu only after we ordered we were told that items were out of stock. There is no reason why this beautiful venue should not be pumping. Recommendation is do a more reasonable priced menu, make sure the food is good, jack up the service and the items on the menu are in stock and we sure there'll be more feet.

The accommodation is very average and maintenance surely not done. The gardens and atmosphere is amazing but that is all. One must not be fooled by location and lush grounds alone. The restaurant service was terrible. Even after we made it clear that we were not happy with the service nothing improved. The breakfast the next morning was great. Awesome Eggs Benedict ! A pity the rest of our Valentine's evening out wasn't as pleasurable. It must be the first time ever that I didn't tip the waiter, but explained to her clearly why. Hopefully she will serve other guests better. Overall if it wasn't for the lush beautiful grounds with big old trees and the eggs Benedict the rating would be 1 out of 5. Our R 4 000 for the evening could have been spend better elsewhere. Especially on Valentine

We stayed overnight to get the full experience of Hartbeestpoort dam. The room we stayed at was average. The open area under the trees made up for this. I'll come back for this and the occasional band or solo artist performing. This is a bikers dream Sunday hang-out.
