We had an amazing stay at this beautiful holiday house! The property was exactly as described — spacious, clean, and full of character. The open-plan living area was perfect for our group, and we loved the well-equipped kitchen, which made cooking together a joy. The outdoor space was a highlight, with a lovely patio and garden where we could relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

The location was ideal for our trip, with plenty of local attractions and beaches just a short drive away. Our hosts were incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. They even provided some great local recommendations!

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind and enjoy some quality time together. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat. Would definitely stay again!

The Blue Sky Lodge is a lovely place to spend a weekend or longer. Each room has its own unique look and is nice and spacious. The rusting feeling you get when you step into the lodge have an immediate calming effect on a person.
The one fridge at one point may need replacement as it's not closing properly. The one room don't have bedlights and will be nice to add that to the room. Not sure about all the rooms, but a small dustbin in the room or bathroom will also be a nice add on. The staff is excellent and so helpful and friendly. I will definitely recommend for people to visit the lodge. Thank you.

Very relaxing getaway, enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.
The kitchen had all utensils, dishes pots and pans needed to make all the different foods we wanted to cook.
The room had a aircon that kept the room cool so we could actually sleep even though it was so hot.
The private pool and braai area was a great place for getting team spirt up.

I am a frequent visitor to Sky Lodge and what keeps me coming back is the warm welcome and hospitality, smooth and seamless booking and check in process, clean and well equipped facilities and close access to the Dam, Sun City, restaurants etc. Robert was such a gracious host, made sure we were settled and comfortable. He even set up the fireplace for us, we had a warm evening. Worth every affordable penny!

To pay R1300 per night and get kitchen cupboard doors falling off, curtain rails not fixed, bath leaking, toilet leaking, no service and no toilet paper replacements, you can rather go to a 4star place in the area for the same amount of maybe R200 more. Reception was not open and you always have to call the cellphone to get assistance. Not professional. On departure, you need to try and find a staff member to hand keys in. Bed is so old and worn that the springs push into you and you have a mountain of a mattress heap between you and your partner. Being in the same industry, I find it shameful as this place gives us a bad name! At that price, you could have replaced your beds already!!!!

Hi Freedom Thank you for taking the time to review us. We appreciate it. We try offer good quality accommodation at an excellent value. Our overall TripAdvisor rating for Value is 4/5, which suggests that generally our guests feel our accommodation is good value, however, we do acknowledge that some of our guests have higher expectations, and we are therefore sorry that we did not match your price expectations. We are a small bush lodge and are therefore perfect for social distancing. As advised in our booking terms we service the units every second day to avoid social contact as much as possible in order to protect our guests and staff. We have also temporarily closed the reception as it is a confined space, however our lodge manager and maintenance managers are available 24/7 to assist our guests where ever possible. We consider these protocols professional under the current covid period as they reduce exposure to the virus. We do supply all unit bathrooms with a new 2 ply toilet roll and replace when serviced. We are of course also happy to supply additional toilet paper should the need arise.

Great place to stay at. Staff was excellent, available to assist whenever we needed them. Beautiful spacious accommodation and peaceful with gorgeous views, pictures do not do it justice. Felt very private as we hardly saw the other guests booked at the lodge; we had our own fire/braai area and pool area. Not ideal for very young children unless you're willing to monitor them throughout the stay as the balcony is not 'child proof' and there are steps to get to the house. With that being said, the openness is also what allows for the excellent unrestricted views. Definitely worth visiting again.

Overall the stay was very pleasant and also the staff was very kind and was quick in all their daily tasks they had to preform.
On Friday night it was raining and one off the rooms the staff repaired had rained in and the bed was soaking wet, they did come and make up another room for the other guests that joined us.
Although we struggled with the DSTV's reception on Friday and also had no DSTV Saturday due to non payment message displayed we had a very nice stay and would like to come and stay again on another occasion.

Please also when people come and stay please tell your staff to tell the people that the wood you provide is not free and what the price is, we wanted to buy wood on Saturday and found one of your staff at the spar and they told us we should not buy wood and that they would supply and Sunday when we wanted to book out they said we had to pay for the wood.

Thank you very much for letting us stay at Blue SkY Lodge looking forward to another stay

Kind regards
Marlene /Neil

Hi Thank you for your review. We have the DSTV Hotel bouquet in our 4 private lodges. The channels are not the same as your regular DSTV at home and if you try find a specific channel that is not in the hotel bouquet it will give you an error message. I believe our maintenance manager Dennis did come to your lodge and show you how to select the channels. Our reception staff sell wood, ice, firelighters, colddrinks etc. There must be some misunderstanding as we alway advise that that wood is for sale. We also advise that wood is for sale when you click the booking terms online and also in the info books in all our lodges. How we run the shop is that the profits do not go to the lodge but rather to the staff as part of the local community incentive. Therefore it is unfortunate that you then refused to pay for the wood on check out as is it then the staff that are losing. Please can you call Clemencia back and make an arrangement to transfer for the wood money, even if only half, as that will then at least cover the costs that they are losing. She has also been trying to call you as somebody in your group may have packed some of our towels by mistake. Please can you ask your friends who came with you if anybody has a few towels that they now don't recognise to that you can arrange for them to be returned to us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay!

Not recommended.
The bed sheets were torn, the towels smelled like old ones.
The bed base was broken.
The fridge was not clean, the toaster did not work, only one plate on the stove worked.
There is a whole list more of complaints.
The manager/owner does not respond to the complaints, he only responded to the LekkeSlaap agent.
And told her we only complained about the rest of the things on Sunday. And that the bedding was not supposed to make its way to the room. Also that the other guests of LekkeSlaap did not complain about their stay. And that the have a certain high rate on one of these platforms.
They don't take complaints seriously. The Saturday morning we complained about the bed that was broken and Dennis said they will try and fix it when we get back (we had a function so arrived late at the lodge - out of decency we did not phone them because it was past 23:00)
If they did inspection as they should, before checking people in, this won't happen.
Please check Hello Peter and tripadvisors reviews before you book here.

Hi Thank you for your review. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We strive to provide good quality accommodation at an affordable rate and do try our best to keep all guests happy. This is evidenced by our good overall review ratings on the major review platforms. We do have full time maintenance staff that is on call 24/7 to handle any queries. When you contacted us in the morning we did offer to come look at the bed and replace if necessary. Unfortunately you did advise that you were going out therefore we were not granted access to be able to address your complaint. We do take complaints seriously, and were willing to check the complaint. We did not receive any other complaints from you until after check out the following day. We always recommend that if guests have any queries that they contact the duty manager immediately for prompt action, irrespective how small. Our staff try their best to address any complaints and often then over compensate, which does often result in happy guests and good reviews. If you would have called our staff at 23h00 when you returned, then we would have come to assist you irrespective of the late hour, as that is their job and they are proud of their review ratings. Unfortunately you only complained about your long list of other items after check out. You booked a unit called a Stone Suite through an agency called Lekker Slaap. That weekend we had 3 suite bookings from that same agency and you are correct in that the other 2 guests did not complain. For the benefit of other objective readers of this review, the one guest give us 5 stars on the Lekker Slaap platform and has been back to us on another two occasions, and the the other guest gave us 5 stars on Google Reviews.
