What a bad experience!!! We had VIP tickets at the beef stock festival. The way they received us was so bad we drove around for an half an hour just to find out they were supposed to drive us to out tent. They promised breakfast included but nothing happened. There must have been golf carts to drive us around (we had to walk were we wanted to be.) We got chased away by the manager (Lani) when we wanted to meet the singers. The staff was very disrespectful!!! I do not recommend anyone to go there ever. It was the worst experience ever!!!!

We hoped the other reviews were not representative, but sadly, I have to concur. This place is not well-kept. We came in as day visitors. The pool is disgusting. There are beer bottle caps in the pool, along with weeks worth of debris. The toilets are dirty. There is no toilet paper. The location next to the dam is fantastic, it's a pity the resort is such a dump.

Terrible camping experience, dirty pool, toilets and the shower. Stinking attitude from the stuff especially the ones at Reception. There is no follow up none whatsoever when you complain. Everything is just terrible

What a bad service we received from the manager who is rude and don not care about the guests, the pool was dirty at the camping area, when we inquire from his colleagues he told them to come to him, we called him he lied to say he is sending someone, we then decided to drive to the office and talk to him he then told us the pools are dirty because they do not have chemicals to clean. Check out day we packed our stuffs from camping area, we went swimming to the day visitors pool, and to go out of the gate we were an hour late, the manager stupid rude dude asked us to pay for being an hour late, he blocked the gates and coursed a scene Saturday afternoon while we were camping, the other guests had a physical fight with the manager, he then called the police when i do my inquiries he couldn't even explain to me nicely, he is super rude with a calm voice, he doesn't know what he is talking about. the resort is not taken good care of, the shower facilities are so dirty i could not even bath, we couldn't even sleep at night because of the Zebras eating our stuffs outside, searching the rubbish bins making hell lot of noise Then place is just fukced up because of the management, i am no longer wasting my money going there

A very nice silent family picnic spot, braai facilities and pools near the Haartebees Dam. You are welcomed by the worlds wonderful animals auch as the Zebras and antelopes. Facinating Dam and adverture of seeing boats driving a mile away from you.

We arrived 2 hours before check in to relax at the restautant and have lunch. On check in, we were told that the advertised restaurant is closed - no reason were given. Arriving back at 2h30 (check in is at 2.) Getting to our Chalet, there was lunch tins of the cleaning ladies all over. No linen on the beds and no towels. I contacted reception to only get the phone dropped 4 times by them. Eventually got hold of reception and asked to speak to the person in charge. I was given Neo's number. First call-no answer. Sms, then a reply. Linen was brought to our chalet - soaking wet. And they didnt care when we brought it to their attention. Another call to Neo about that. 45mins later the linen was changed with dry ones. Still no towels. At 18h30 the towels arrived. This is 4hours AFTER check in. Next morning wanted to make coffee - kettle is broken. The amount of money we paid for accomodation and off course the false advertising from the resort, I will never recommend this place to anyone and will tell all about my bad experience. The resort is neglected and the staff dont care about the patrons. This was my worst get away ever! Very dissapointed!

We paid our R305 entrance fee for the car and the passengers and proceeded to look forward to an afternoon of great fun! We drove around hoping to see a big pool or even water slides and green grounds only to be met by a small pool that we chose not to swim in but to rather just se the braai facilities. This place is disappointingly 'dry' and was truly not worth the drive from JHB. The worst was when we got excited seeing the beautiful Zebra's come out at around 6pm only to see them eat our paper plates/rubbish from the bins! +ves: the braai facilities are many and good and you can bring any food/drinks with you the small playground was enjoyed by the kids. There could be an additional trampoline as the bigger kids tend to take over.

We stayed over at this place. Toilets dirty, shower drain blocked, outside drains filled with dirt...even the grass was dirty with garbage. Other campers made noise till 4:30am..definitely not a place to break away for a relaxing stay for us. We left the next day.

The park itself is beautiful and kept close to nature. It is a joy to see the animals (buck and zebra) roaming around freely, even walking and grazing between the cabins. The water hyacinth problem in the dam was quite bad, but did nothing to detract from the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings. The staff in general were polite and helpful. However, the cabin itself left much to be desired. The smallest amount of space was used and so the bedroom, with a double bed, had just enough room to move around. The lounge area was very cramped and only the bare basic items were in the kitchen. The spare bedrooms were accommodated in 2 loft areas, but the ladder access was ridiculously steep. We also had a huge problem with stray cats (5 of them!), which created a nuisance factor, especially when having our meals on the patio.

I visited Eagle Wildlide resort this Saturday for camping. It was a total of 12 of us and we had booked two stands. When we arrived we were interrogated by the guard and rightfully so for security purposes i suppose. Our problems started when we had to pay for the second group of ladies who hadnt arrived yet. We were informed that the office would close and would need to pre-pay before 5.We expected 4 ladies to show up and for entrance purposes we paid R200. Within 10 minutes the ladies arrived and but only 3 of the expected 4 showed up. When we asked for a refund we were told by the guard that we must collect it in the morning on our way out. In the morning at 11 as we were departing, the office guy who was exceptionally rude and disrespectful blatantly refused to give us the R50 refund. I know R50 doesnt sound like a lot but in camping terms it is a hell of a lot of money, that is why we camp to begin with. Throughout the night the guards repeatedly kept on harassing us despite heeding an initiial warning to turn off the music. It was such a dreadful camping experience to what is a actually not a bad place. On the maintenance side, the ablution facilities have no door locks or even handles, even some of the toilets. If you want to camp near the dam, drive another 16km to Ifafi Aquatic Club and dont waste your time at this unprofessional place until they sort out their mess.
