I wanted to stay in Castro-Urdiales again and after finding a hostel on my last stay upon arrival it made sense to pre book. There aren’t many listing on here for hotels and we took a gamble on the La Ronda. The hotel doesn’t have any air conditioning, a fan is provided in the room and you are issued with your tv remote control upon check in!! The outer bed sheet had staining on it and there were a couple of dead bugs on the floor. The shower head is broken and more water comes out of the side than the nozzles. The toilet flush broke too overnight. I was able to park my bike on the street for free which was the one bonus. One night cost us €66 which is double what I’d like to pay for these facilities. Disappointing, overpriced and needs some attention. I’d certainly look for an alternative. …
Pros Near everything Cafe Big enough room Friendly people Cheap and can be negotiated Wifi Easy to find on Main Street Has own bathroom Cons Difficult to turn on tv Small bathtub A few small mosquitoes in through open window
The hotel is located by the main street, 2 cross streets from the main promenade and tourist information. It is near all main Castro attractions. Staff is nice and serves coffee if needed. It is nothing special in the hotel but the price is fair - 50€ in top season. You can expect to be wake up early in the morning if the room window stays open.
