Absolutely first class service. A brilliant evening due to Tracy who looked after our whole evening and helped making it a brilliant night. Thank you again Tracy for all your help. Food was also first class. Thank you chef. Would highly recommend South Causey. You certainly won’t be disappointed. Mr John H.

We stayed here part of a Wedding group, firstly the hotel is beautiful. We booked late and had the green room in the Farmhouse. The room was small but we very pretty inside. Down side toilet didn’t flush very well, but water pressure may not be any good in the area. Everything else was nice. When we returned to our room after our wedding party there was a strong of smoke possibly from another guest as our room over looked a small roof veranda which wasn’t very pleasant as a non smoker. Breakfast was lovely and we had a comfortable stay. Checkout is 10:30am breakfast was instructed to be given between 9am to 9:30am after a late night was a little early

Checked into South Causey Inn prior to a wedding (we were early as we had a long journey and didn’t want to travel in our wedding outfits) to which we were greeted by a very stern lady “your rooms not ready and you can leave your things here” bare in mind you could clearly see we were’nt ready. Check in time is 2pm (we had requested an early one and they do say it isn’t a guarantee, which is fair enough, but it really wasn’t the most pleasant hello). Taken back by it we left the reception and fumbled on our loss in hopes of finding a toilet where we could get changed. To which was shortly rectified by the most pleasant young lady Georgie. Clearly seeing the confusion on our faces asked how she could help…… put it this way; we were in the room, helped with luggage and ready for the wedding in no more than 15 minutes! Throughout the day we came across the young lady on more than one occasion and could do nothing more than sing her praises (we weren’t the only ones doing so) absolute credit to the team. The wedding itself was just outstanding from start to finish; the venue was beautiful, food was to die for and the staff really could not of done more to help. The golf buggy which is used to transport guests from A to B was a wonderful touch, it really isn’t that far of a walk but with the wet and windy weather it really did make a difference. The rocky start was soon forgotten. Already can’t wait to return for the next wedding! Thanks again South Causey Inn.

Visited the restaurant for an afternoon tea with friends for £25 per head. Booked a vegetarian tea (due to medical reasons) but when it arrived it was a vegan afternoon tea. we outlined certain things that the person didnt like and could not eat beforehand. Then half of her afternoon tea had to be removed as they had not listened. And they had no alternatives. The back and forth went on for 30 mins. A refund for that persons afternoon tea was outlined and would be given. As an apology we were told was there anything g they could offer or do to help. In the end whilst my mother was starving and waited an eternity and being a diabetic whi had took her insulin my mother eventually agreed to accept a halloumi and cucumber wrap, which she left after 1 bite. The hassle of the day ruined the atmosphere. Also to be asked why the person couldnt eat certain foods was rather offensive esp in A busy restaurant. Then the refund was not received. I called back up and was informed the woman would not refund us the price of 25 paid even though she had told us that she would prior to offering the apology in the form of a wrap. An afternoon tea was not what we received. Disgusted at this experience. I will never visit here again. As the1st pic shows the picnic table stand is half empty. The scone was rock solid. So my mother had no savoury on her afternoon tea and she isnt a fan of chocolate. The 2nd pic shows the normal afternoon tea. Over priced and over rated. Rude staff and unreliable. I am disgusted at the way we have been treated and the way the issue was dealt with and then the woman went back on her word.
