This pub has a large family bedroom that contains a larger than average king size bed, a full size single bed and bunk beds. Decent sized shower room ensuite (no bath). Tea, coffee and biscuits all provided in the room plus a large screen TV. Free parking on site. The bar offers a good choice of drinks and the food is excellent with good sized portions and choice of menu. The staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Only a 10 minute drive to Beamish Museum so avoided traffic queues. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

My family and I stayed here and it was all very last minute after a long day at Beamish museum. Very close to the museum so a good stay if you are going to Beamish. We checked in within a few hours of booking via phone and it was all very simple and we were shown to our room (staff member was wearing a mask). It was a large family room for 5 of us with the bunk beds in it. Very lovely room with modern interior design and high ceilings. It had a cosy atmosphere, was very warm, plenty of tea, coffee and packets of biscuits. Our room had plenty of towles and was beautifully clean. A decent shower, which had plenty of hot water for all of us. I must add that the pressure was not amazing if this is important to you but it was entirely adequate and useable, I could wash my long hair still. I would say the only issue is that if you have children the room is located directly above the bar, so there is a lot of noise until closing. Fortunately for us this was 10pm due to the current covid restrictions but had it been business as usual this would have become an issue for us. So I would say ear plugs required as a general rule or be ok with your children having a late night if they're noise sensitive. Overall very happy and a decent price. No breakfast options, which surprised us as we know the pub does serve food. Breakfast and a room with less noise would have made this place a 5 star review. We just drove the 15 minutes to Durham and had a nice Brunch at Bills, so not too much of a problem overall.

Visited on a lunchtime during The new lockdown rules, so only table service available which was very friendly and fast. We ordered off the “ dine for 2 menu at £15.99 There was plenty of meals to choose from. We ordered the roast of the day which was beef also a beef burger with chips. The roast beef dinner came with usual trimmings and a large Yorkshire Pudding & lashings of gravy.. The beef burger was In a nice fresh bun & came with homemade chips and 2 large onion rings. Both meals were good portions and both tasted fantastic We then both had a dessert. Honeycomb cheesecake With cream and also Chocolate orange cake with custard. Both desserts were to die for. Overall we will be visiting here again.. roast beef dinner and

Honestly we booked here last min and we had no idea what to expect. The room was so roomy for us and 3 kids, clean, plenty of towels, comfy beds, big TV, free Wi-Fi. We expected some noise booking in on a bank holiday, but we just put a movie on and listened to them singing along to rhinestone cowboy, brilliant! The staff were brilliant, friendly, helpful. The waitress (pretty redhead) was great on Saturday night, the chef (also a pretty red head lol) was lovely at breakfast time the food was spot on!!! Like really really good!! Great choice, good size portions, good value, nice dining area away from the bar, really clean and the social distancing "bits" were all in place, people appeared to be sticking to it. Thanks for having us! Would definitely recommend 👌
