This is a great location in Kefalonia. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from a very nice beach. One end of the beach has a bar and the other end of restaurant - all very rustic (big fish grilled, small fish fried), and wonderful just because of that. I liked this area - a car is necessary, but that is the kind of holiday I was after - relaxing by the pool with a book, a late afternoon swim, and an occasional jaunt - Assos was a brilliant day trip. Eleni, who runs Odyssey, took the time to post my bikini back to me, after I left it drying outside my room, which was so helpful. The hotel is inexpensive, so whilst it is not 5* it is a really nice holiday for those who want sun, swimming and a bit Greek culture.

We stayed at Odyssey Villas in Zola and we had a great holiday. Not in the least because of the owner and host Eleni. she is a warm and joyfull person who makes you instant feel at home.

then the hotel: big clean rooms, nice swimmingpool with wooden chairs around the pool. Zola is laid back and luckily not located in the tourism areas (the south). Very much couleur locale!
You need a car and it is easy to visit the beautiful beaches and pretty villages on the island.

Eleni is one of the owners and was amazing at hosting us and entertaining us in the evening. The location seems far but is very close and central to all destinations. The rooms are very clean and the pool was great. I would highly recommend for your next.

The hotel and pool were wonderful, but the lady boss charges you for every tiny little thing without offering the quality of food you would expect. There is no beach within walking distance as the little harbour is not suitable for swimming. The air condition didn't work when we stayed there in August and without a car you are absolutely lost. I would not go there again.

Me and my partner stayed at the Odyssey Villas for 7 nights in August 2012.

It's a lovely, small hotel with a friendly, family-run feel set in a peaceful hillside. The included breakfast is a simple affair of coffee/tea, juice and toast but the best thing is that the wonderful owner/host, Eleni, is happy to serve it to you any time you like - whether you emerge from your room at 9am or midday - which means that you can sleep in and don't have to rush. Hotel is situated about 20 mins drive from Myrtos beach, as well as a 20-40 min drive from Lixouri and Argostoli. Would definitely recommend hiring a car or scooter as it's quite a remote location. Rooms are sparse but spacious and well-maintained; sheets and towels changed every second day. The manicured gardens are dotted with hibiscus bushes and olive trees; every room affords a view of either the lovely pool or the ocean. Ideal for a perfect, relaxing greek holiday.
