The Safari is situated in a beautiful location with a deck where you can watch the sunset. The bush walks are amazing. One feels very connected with nature during the bush walks. The guide is very knowledgeable. The food was scrumptious. They have very friendly staff to ensure that you enjoy your stay to the fullest.

We visited Thornhill Safari Lodge for our 30th wedding aniversary.
What a unforgettable experiece!! Our lovely honeymoon suite was comfy and airconditioned with an outdoor shower wich we especialy enjoyed.
The friendly staff went out of their way to truly make it a memorable stay with romantic dinners by the pool and on the sunset deck. The food is exceptional and we will be talking about that for years.
On our sunset drive to the Kruger Park, we were fortunate to see a lion kill - a truly once in a lifetime sighting.
I can recommend them and will definately visit again.
This was 5 days of bliss!!!

From the moment we arrived in the car park at Thornhill we were made to feel particularly welcome by Nicolette and her team, especially by David. Mealtimes offered a great opportunity for us to meet our fellow guests and Joanna's very tasty meals were always well received. All in all we had a great three night stay and so would highly recommend Thornhill to anyone and any family visiting the Kruger area.

What an amazing experience! We had giraffe on our doorstep and witnessed an Ostrich laying an egg right in front of us. You couldn't get any closer to nature! Merle and Shaun are such great hosts, and David will ensure your whistle is wet with cocktails by the pool. The staff are so attentive and we truly felt spoilt! Thank you Merle and Shaun for making our time there so special. We highly recommend this beautiful lodge ❤

We were greeted like royalty at Thornhill Lodge and the rest of the experience was incredible. The rooms were so comfortable and the mosquito net around the bed worked a treat! The staff could not do enough to make our stay truely memorable - David, with his lovely infectious smile, kept the drinks in good supply, the kitchen staff cooked up sumptious meals and Glen and his team made sure everything ran smoothly. It was lovely to go up to the viewing deck in the evenings to watch the sunset then to return to the comfortable bar area before being summoned to dinner by the beating of the drum!
Our driver at the Big Five safari made sure we got up close (but safely) to lions, elephant, zebra and even a leopard in a tree who was enjoying an afternoon snack of impala! The full day safari in Kruger with Sam was amazing, the panoramic tour was so beautiful and the early morning safari walk with Fikile was informative and a wonderful experience.
We would definitely reommend a stay in this beautiful place.

We loved how attentive all staff and managers were as well as knowledgeable about the wildlife, trees etc. Rooms are amazingly immersed in the bush with wildlife regularly visiting early morning and evenings. Only down side was shower soap dispenser was broken and not repaired or even noticed throughout our three day stay.

What an amazing stay we had in this lodge. From the very beginning we loved it. David was always so helpful and full of life, Nicolette was so accommodating when organizing all our activities and Johanna is such a talented cook and we always looked forward to her evening meals by the fire! The room was such a nice space and the outdoor shower really made you feel like you were in the bush for your whole stay. Joe and Goodman also made our stay so memorable with their expertise when it came to the game drives which we took part in. It was lovely to meet Conor and Isabelle who we were given the opportunity to talk to at dinner around the fire. We will definitely be back! Keep doing what your doing because it’s absolutely perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing!! Eoin and Kayleigh (Ireland)

What can I say ... I was the nervous one in our family of 3! I needn't have been. We had the most amazing experiences at Thornhill and will never forget it. The staff were wonderful and seemed to have a good relationship with each other which I feel is important. Renee, Nicole (who went the extra mile literally) taking us on a trip to God's Window and Roundawels, Sam on our safari to Kruger, all the catering staff, excellent food and cleaning staff. The staff made us feel comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Our best safari by far was with Jonno in Greater Kruger. His knowledge was amazing and fascinating. We saw so much wildlife, all a dream come true. Wonderful wildlife in the immediate area around our lodge too. Great atmosphere at the outdoor meals in the evening, hearing lions roaring in the distance. The monkeys were very naughty but looked cute! Beware though!! We had a few other safaris on the Garden Route, don't waste your money on these, Thornhill and Kruger were by far the best. My only disappointment was our dark room, bathroom rather tired and dated. We didn't spend much time at all in our room.
Thank you so much to all at Thornhill, so much knowledge from all the staff. We missed you all after we left.

Omgg. This place was just 10/10 . From the minute you arrive manager Nicolette and staff make you feel so welcome! The staff were so wonderful during my 4 day stay and the food was amazing which was prepared by their talented chef at the lodge. The rooms are very clean. No issues at all. Nicolette was absoloutely amazing and extremly accomadating to making sure that I had an unforgettable experience. The place was just flawless. For the safari, i had a tour guide called Goodman. He was an absolute gentleman and gem. Very funny. He has 20 years experience with kruger and could all my questons from the animals, vegatation to poaching and issues and challeneges that krugar face today. He is soo informative with soo much knowledge. I learned a huge amount on my safari with Goodman.

My friend and I stayed at Thornhill for 5 nights in March 2020. What an amazing place! It truly exceeded all our expectations. The room was beautiful and set in a very peaceful area. You really feel like you are in the bush. What really sets this place apart though is the staff. Everyone is so warm and friendly and happy to help, and we were made to feel so welcome we really didn't want to leave! The hospitality, food and activities were all first class and we couldn't have wished for a better stay. We had amazing sightings on our drives into Kruger NP and the nearby big 5 reserve which were all arranged through Thornhill. Thank you all so much for a fabulous stay. We look forward to coming back soon. Give Garfield a snuggle from us x

Tea and coffee on tap in the main area. Sockets in the room, so bring your kettle if you wish -if you have time to use it before the 0530 start for the safari. Great place, authentic and memorable. Well run with excellent owners and staff. Whats not to enjoy. Everywhere we stayed in SA had facilities for tea etc in room by the way.
