We stayed there for 3 days. The buffet was not varied and poor in quality. The room was small and didn't look like the lying photos at all. The worst is the security that denies you entry with a motorbike you have rented. The manager was totally incompetent and never knew how to solve a problem. There are better hotels in Diani because this one is worth no more than two stars. We decided to leave after the refusal to enter with our motorbike in the hotel and we extended for two weeks at the Nomad hotel which was incomparable.

Hotel's Favourite
We had booked to stay at this hotel in April this year but then had to cancel due to Covid-19 lockdowns in Kenya. When lockdowns were lifted we rebooked our holiday after getting detailed information on what the hotel was doing to make the hotel safe for the guests during the pandemic. It was well worth it. Being one of their first guests after reopening, we were lucky to have very few other guests so it was very easy to social distance from other guests. I believe this was intentional so that the hotel could learn from a few guests how to deal with their business during the pandemic. This also meant we had the beautiful Diani beach almost all to ourselves! The staff took wearing of masks, taking of temperature before entering the restaurant and hand washing or sanitizing very seriously which we appreciated. There was no slacking on these measures for the week we were there. Also for room cleaning we had the flexibility of choosing if and when we wanted it. There were no buffets as these had been replaced by table service. This worked well in the beginning but after a few days when a few more guests had checked in, we noticed the meals took a bit longer to arrive. This may be something they have to work on. But having said that, the food quality was very good! We did not utilize the kids club by choice though the animation team were ready for it if we had wanted to for our kids. We have been at this hotel before and it was well worth going back to it again. We really appreciated the friendliness and quality of service and the measures the hotel had taken to make our stay safe during the pandemic.

We had mixed feelings choosing the hotel as our honeymoon getaway but we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The place has great facilities with breath-taking ocean views and friendly staff who are always willing to assist you when in need. When we got to our room, we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit basket as well as a congratulatory letter from the hotel on our marriage which we really appreciated. Our room which had a garden view was clean and spacious. We however had keep the balcony doors closed during our stay following the hotel’s advice due to lurking monkeys which were prone to getting into the rooms. The food was awesome with a buffet of meats, pasta, rice, roasted potatoes… the variety was good. We even found the breakfast buffet ready at 4.30am on our checkout day since we were leaving early. Drinks were available throughout the day till 11pm with afternoon snacks available till 6pm. On the downside, wifi was not very reliable and we found ourselves using our mobile data most of the time. The beach is accessible from the hotel but a quiet walk on the beach may be hampered by local pedlars selling their wares. On the brightside, there’s a whole range of activities you can do at the beach from kayaking, jet skiing, kite surfing, snorkeling and camel rides. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to couples and families on vacation.

I had an awesome experience at Baobab Beach Resort nd spa. From very cool and spacious room, to wonderful meals, not forgetting the warm and very friendly staff who were always willing and ready to assist. The shows held always at 9:30pm plus other shows too were very entertaining. That was so thoughtful of the management{ I specially applaud them for that}. I loved the swimming pools too, especially the infinity pool, and all other activities within the facility. Everything was excellent except for a few occasions Wi-Fi would get slightly unstable. I enjoyed every single day I spent there As a solo traveler, I never got bored even a single day, and yes, baobab, I will definitely be back again.

Excellent resort in Diani.. Probably the best. Have visited it twice and it has not disappointed. It is made up of three hotels - Baobab, Maridadi and Kole Kole. Kole Kole is the best wing with an infinity pool but all three properties have their own pools and bars etc. It has an all inclusive menu with food and drink free flowing at all times. The rooms are not as good though and they need a modern touch otherwise everything is perfect.
