My wife and I have just returned from a 12 night stay at DSR following a 5 day safari and it was a perfect place to chill out after an excellent but tiring tour with Transtrek safaris who I would highly recommend. My son and sister also joined us for the safari and first week at the Hotel to celebrate my 60th birthday and I was overwhelmed with the cake and celebratory presentation dance the waiting staff put on for me at dinner. When talking about the staff here we couldn't have asked for a more friendly helpful team they are outstanding, the Resort should be proud of them and I hope this message of appreciation gets back to them. Everyone was a joy but I will just give a special mention to the one's we talked to most, firstly Valentine of reservations who I corrasponded with online for several months before our visit and she was always quick and accommodating with her replies. Nasib and Daniel of animation always found time to talk and joke with us even though we didn't take part in all the activities while Nzai Ali Swaleh Ruwa and Lydia gave fantastic waiting service from the bar and dining room. Restaurant supervisor Sheila also went out of her way to try and make sure there was more ice on hand for evening drinks after we complained of a lack of it and Koi who kept the pool area clean and tidy always gave us a morning "Jambo" when we settled down on our sunbeds around the amazing warm pool. The guys on the front desk were also very helpful. The only fault I could give of this resort apart from sometimes being short of ice in the evenings is the room towels could be a bit softer but this is a minor issue and there are far more positives including beautifully kept gardens an excellent beachfront location and some good evening entertainment. Thank you to the DSR team for a wonderful stay.

We arrived in some very wet weather which meant we spent the first evening indoors eating and having a few samples of the all inclusive cocktails.
Thankfully it brightened up the next day and we enjoyed a lovely day starting with a delicious buffet breakfast, a lie by the pool, some lunch at the pool bar and some more cocktails.

We then decided to take one of the glass bottom boat rides to go snorkelling. It was an ok experience for $25 each but it took 1 hour to pick everyone up from our hotel and the sister hotel and they tried to pack in 3 extra people that there was no space for- I would recommend reviewing the different companies before paying any money, but none the less we eventually had our fun!

We then returned to our hotel where we were able to enjoy a lovely buffet dinner set up outside which was way more enjoyable than the previous rainy evening.

They then had Masai dancers followed by a small market and a DJ till 11pm

We checked out very early the next morning.

Enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

I am currently staying at this incredible resort and can’t recommend it highly enough. It is by far the most beautiful place I have EVER stayed.

The hotel is right on the beautiful Diani beach, I have spent my mornings going for a walk/run along the beach before coming back to enjoy a delicious breakfast which is fresh and varied each day.

The food has been delicious, and dinner each night changes location from the beautiful dinner hall, to outside candle lit dinners from dinners nearer the beach front- all have been amazing.

The staff have gone above and beyond to make me feel at home and safe. Being a solo traveler it’s been wonderful to have such great staff to chat with and who are there looking out for you at all times.

The drink selection is huge, with a variety of cocktails and non alcoholic drinks! Wine is very drinkable and the bar staff are 👌

I have just had to extend my trip which involved a flight change and having to book a PCR test. The staff look over and did this for me so it’s was so stress free. Not only did they book the PCR test but the test is also able to be done in the hotel lobby!

You would not regret coming here to stay- paradise.

Service was great from reception, throughout our stay until check out. All staff were friendly, very helpful and attentive, especially Abdul (server, FnB).
The general hotel facilities were basic but clean and functional. The pool is amazing and offers options for beginners, experts and non-swimmers. The rooms have simple, Swahili style funtiure and excellent, updated bathrooms (could differ from room to room).
The hotel is conveniently located and you can easily access the airport and other local establishments e.g. bars, restaurants, strip malls etc.
A little more work is needed on the quality of food and drinks offered (especially AI cocktails).
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Diani Sea Resort :)

We checked in on 15th April and left on the 20th. It was a big family travel. For sure, we have enjoyed. The reception was great, the rooms were great too, we had issues of the AC, which the fixed in 5 minutes, and it worked throughout the stay. The food has daily themes and it was cooked to perfection!!! I highly recommend the salmon, the rice, and the salads!! Though I feel like the dessert options would be a bit better. The snack bar was everything!!! The pizza! The burgers, sandwiches and drinks were done to perfection. Even on busy days, the food quality was still top notch!! Shout out to Geoffrey and Dan who made sure our cocktails were top notch!! If you're a sweet tooth cocktailer like me, I recommend the Mambo Jambo cocktail, I stuck with this through out our stay. The beach was beautiful and big, and a nice place to chill. The pool and beach beds were in plenty, nobody lacked one! The pool was amazing!! The slide especially, both kids and adults enjoyed! I also recommend music when people are swimming, as guys would use their own individual blue tooth speakers. We enjoyed water polo!!! And made so many new friends! The entertainment was also fun and diverse! We enjoyed!! I highly recommend diani sea resort!! Thank you guys for the amazing stay!

Diani sea resort is a great hotel and the food was great. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We noticed a lot of groups at the hotel being very demanding of the staff, who only try their best to accommodate. The food was excellent, we especially enjoyed the bbq style nights where the food was served outdoors. Always enough sun loungers to go round. One area of improvement could be for people to not be allowed to smoke round the pool or beach area.

We made the most of both the beach holiday and safari. We booked our safari through JT safaris and had the most amazing trip, Julius came to the hotel to complete the booking and advised us how the trip would go, this is the best company to book your safari with at the most reasonable prices and we highly recommend

The staff provided great service and always at hand to serve from our entry through to the dining and eating areas. We spent the New Year's eve here so the fireworks were great! The entertainment and music was great throughout the night.

The food during our stay was good but best on the 31st Dec night where there was a wide variety of food and good set up for the guests.

The rooms are not too good - poor workmanship in recently renovated rooms and uncomfortable beds. The toilets are installed a bit too high. The towels are possibly the worst. They do not smell fresh as they are possibly too old and not laundered well.

The location in this part of the beach is great. The beach is clean and does not have lots of sea weeds like other beaches. The sand is great too and the swimming pool ideal for kids especially.

PROS:
1. The location is magnificent, the hotel is right at the heart of Diani with white expansive beach. We could not think of a better beach. We played football and built castles, although we did not swim into the deep waters, it was an easy possibility. On the other side, the shopping centre was about 100 metres from the hotel gate, we walked there for our additional supplies, mainly water and milk.
2. All the staff were pleasant and courteous, we were there during the school holidays, so it was extremely busy but the quality of service did not waver.
3. The room we got looked like it had been recently renovated, it was big enough to accommodate two adults and 3 children. The shower worked perfect and there was hot water all the time. This was unlike the reviews i had earlier read.

CONS:
1. It is difficult to maneuver if you are on a wheel chair or have a baby stroller, the entire hotel has steps and no ramps. They would put wooden planks but they were too steep and dangerous.
2. Main meals are delayed, breakfast starts at 7:30am and dinners at 7:30pm, i wished they were an hour earlier especially for dinner. If you have young children who need to go to bed early especially after a busy day, it is an inconvenience. They have 6:30pm special arrangement for children, but options are limited, adults are not allowed and they are served meals in front of a huge loud screen. So you really cannot have a family dinner while on holiday together.

Good value for money.

This place was everything. The check in and check out process was quick quick. The staff are so friendly, right from the guys at the gate, the team at the reception, waiters, house keeping team and even ground keepers. Special shout out to Valentine from reservation who handled my booking, very patient lady and everything was as per my specifications.

The ambience is great with a nice breeze from all the trees planted all through the hotel. The beach here is so clean, I still miss my morning walks along the beach. I loved that they had sun beds right by the beach and security guards, so I always felt safe going down to the beach and leaving my stuff on the sunbeds, the beach boys can be rather annoying and have no respect for personal time/space, but this is totally out of the hotel's control.

The pool was large enough, clean and was rarely crowded. We had water aerobics everyday during my stay and the animation team was of great help with the children, they also had lots of pool attendants on stand by and we never had issues with getting a sunbed. They also provide beach and pool towels.

The food was great, a variety served at every meal, but they should maybe consider having a kids section for those travelling with children. The all inclusive package was the best, we were always served drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic, whenever we wanted including by the beach or pool. They also had a snack bar that serves pizza, fries , burger and lots of other bitings. But the main meals were served in buffet and the main restaurant with activities every evening. My child loved the band and Maasais. They could however find a way to reduce the queues that were there at times during meal times.

I had a bahari room which was beach facing, we had a nice view of the ocean and it was a two minute walk to the beach. It came with a mini stocked fridge that was filled everyday as per preference. For the alcoholic drinks they should add a variety other than beers for those that do not take beers. The room came with a functional AC. The bed was spacious enough and my child got a baby cot. The room and bathroom was clean always. They have a conservation policy that you might need to understand before you visit. We had hot water from the showers everyday apart from our last day.

Generally, I enjoyed my stay and felt like I got value for my money. Will def visit again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week here as a family. It was one of the few resorts that offered family rooms. The rooms had air conditioning, mosquito nets, safe, fridge and were cleaned daily. The food was exceptional with lots of choice and variety. They went out of their way to cater gluten free food for my daughter with coeliac disease, even baking a gluten free cake for her birthday! The pool is fantastic with a large 2.8m deep area, a loop round an island, baby pool and a slide through a waterfall. Loads of activities put on including archery, palm weaving, volley ball, water aerobics, water polo, tennis (bit run down) crazy golf, table tennis, billiards. Great evening entertainment with singers, dancers and acrobats. Amassing massages in the spa that were reasonable price Free scuba taster in the pool, glass bottom boat trip (extra cost). Frienly staff. Highly recommended resort.

Yes there are but it’s not something to worry about. They were registered to some sacco or something and assigned to each hotel to avoid any issues. They help with glass boats trips, trips to Wasini etc. They didn’t bother us at all.
