we have stayed at Colina da lapa for a week. Tonight is our last night and I can not fault the place. we stayed in an apartment, it is huge and has everything you need for self catering. Rooms cleaned daily and to a good standard. its a lovely quiet complex with beautiful gardens, a large pool and a tennis court. All the staff were helpful and friendly, we enjoyed the food at the restaurant and the man working there was very welcoming. I noticed a few reviews mentioning that you need a car but if you enjoy walking this is not the case, there is a shop a 10min walk away, Feragudo a small town and beach is just over a mile away. Overall a great holiday and would definitely come back in the future.
I have a dog and booking.com allows one to filter properties by pets allowed. I stated that I have a dog in the booking.com filter and booking.com led me to this place The properry informed me that they do not accept pets so I found a place to stay that is pet-friendly. NONETHELESS Jose Matus, the director REFUSED to reimburse US$454.84 even though we never stayed!!!! This is COMPLETELY unreasonable. Great way to make a quick dime. His reason: You did not cancel. US454.84 for ‘not canceling’? The property did not welcome us because I have a dog. This is a great way of destroying goodwill and providing poor customer service. You have been warned. BEWARE!!!!!
We loved Colina de Lapa. Stayed in a first floor self-catering apartment and it was huge! Full size, well-equipped kitchen, large living room, bedroom and bathroom. Plus balconies front and back. The grounds are stunning, pool beautiful and whole place quiet and clean. I recommend you hire a car as it is off the beaten track, but that was one of the reasons we picked this place. I have never stayed in a package holiday apartment so big, or so well-equipped! The kitchen has everything you could ever need including full-size fridge microwave, coffee filter machine, toaster, electric juice squeezer, electric blender, and even a washing machine! Staff are very helpful, towels changed and beds made daily. Exceptional value for money. Oh, and there is a small shop a 5 minute walk away and a big supermarket a 5-minute drive. Two beaches within walking distance, but beware, lots of steps!…
Return visit. Probably some of the largest SC apartments in the area. Have stayed several times and would stay again. Yes it's not all shiny and modern but it's clean peaceful relaxing and in great spot. If you want a post covid lockdown relaxing holiday this is the spot.
8 of us stayed in a 4 bedroom villa for an extended family holiday. The place was clean and tidy, nice and modern and very spacious. The resort was very quiet but I’m presuming that was the time of year that we visited (late September early October). We had booked nearly a year in advance through booking.com and we noticed that if we had booked the same holiday the day of arrival We would have saved ourselves £300. With lots of the other villas being empty we politely asked at reception on arrival if we would be able to upgrade to a villa with a hot tub as we were celebrating 2 special birthdays....even though they were available this apparently couldn’t be done free of charge so we paid an extra fee of £280.....wish we hadn’t have bothered as the chemicals in it were so strong you couldn’t get your breath therefore we only used it once. The pool although looked beautiful was freezing as it isn’t heated and so once again that was hardly used as it was far too cold to get in. The breakfast that was available on the complex for all villas was ok but get there early otherwise it just sits and isn’t fresh. Location wise- not great if I’m honest. There is nowhere to just wander and walk to, everything is a taxi ride away so you can’t walk into any of the nearby towns. I suggest that you use Uber rather than the local taxi firms as the local ones took an age to arrive. This area of Portugal is beautiful however I wouldn’t stay here again. …
Good sized accommodation, some have been updated. Fully equipped, comfy beds. Close to all local amenities but still very peaceful. Great staff and lovely pool. Really good value and good for a family break. Would come again.
Just back from 2 weeks at Colina da Lapa on the Jet2 half board basis option. Pros - Quiet, peaceful, lovely grounds, helpful staff. Large pool, lots of loungers. Well equipped 1 bedroom apartments. Cons - half board evening meal option really poor, little or no wifi, remote location, no kids club or evening entertainment for kids. Desolate in the evenings. Not for those with walking difficulties, 48 steps to our apartment. No access to apartments before 4pm, not ideal when you left the UK at 6.45am. No luggage porter to assist with cases up and down a very steep hill to your apartment located quite a distance from the hotel reception In summary..go for the Jet2 B&B option, hire a car and don't take children who expect to find pals to play with. Oh and make sure you have plenty data on your phone. …
The apartments are really large good facilities loved the washing machine clean and towels changed regular .the boys liked the fact they could get Disney channel on tv .it was quiet and relaxing place peaceful around the apartments and the pool area always had sun beds available and was easy to watch the children .the restaurant /bar was okay staff friendly but the owner of the franchise was quite strict with them and seemed to concentrate more on the takeaway al a carte italian menu selling that at quite expensive prices 22 euros for 2 children’s size pizzas ! ! The customers that had booked a package deal with breakfast or half board evening meal got a very small choice buffet selection and if you were 4 mins late for breakfast the owner said no you couldn’t even get a bread roll which was not very good hospitality they had only taken over the restaurant for this year /season and I think they were very cost cutting on the food offer .they we’re trying to provide some evening live band music a few times a week but this was only on for a couple of hours until 9pm there was nothing for children’s entertainment on an evening this is definitely needed in high season as lots of large family groups stay in the apartments.also you definitely need to hire a car it was easy to sort out at hotel reception and they were very helpful sorting out excursion tickets and get a discount on zoo marine tickets which is an amazing place well worth the 2 visits thank you the closest beach is 8 mins drive in ferraguda a lovely fishing town with 4 sandy bays .nearest small supermarket for amenities is 15mins walk towards the water tower there is a restaurant and small bar there also but nothing else around the Colina complex so top tip hire a car and go Lidl in ferraguda to stock up and you can get pizzas there for 2 euros each ! We would return but self catering only thank you…
We enjoyed a very nice two weeks at Colina da Lapa in July 2019. Overall, the resort is well-kept and clean, as well as quiet vs the outside world (apartment walls however are somewhat thin). While they are not the most modern, the apartments are very spacious and well equipped, and clean. The pool (incl baby pool) and restaurant next to it are the center piece of the facility, a playground and a children‘s club with activities are also right there. Personnel is very friendly and professional. One big advantage is the resort‘s location. The nearest beach is about five minutes away, some sites also nearby, as well as supermarkets etc.
Just got back from our 3rd visit to colina da lapa. Excellent service at the restaurant bar and reception, as always, thanks to the loft staff. Pool area very clean with plenty of sunbeds. Carvoeiro is a very nice town with plenty of good restaurants, if you like burgers, try the burger bar at The Wolf! Ferragudo is a little fishing village where you can see local fishermen bringing in their haul. Best beaches are Praia da Pincandihno and praia Caneirios.
