Detailed Reviews
The hotel is family run, with the personal touch that can hardly be beaten by any chain hotel. The style is very traditional, but rooms are very clean and fomfortable. There are family rooms with a separate alcove for kids. The hotel offers spa breaks, but since my stay has always been for business, I neve had the time to try that out, apart from some laps in the ( small) pool.

Found this restaurant online advertised as a 2 Michelin star French restaurant. It lies just outside of Deggendorf on a beautiful hill top ( well, almost) location with a beautiful view to its credit. However, the gourmet restaurant is no longer insitu in this hotel but the hotel restaurant was nontheless very good but not star quality. We dined at lunchtime and had a very enjoyable meal for 26 euro each which included filet steak. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was cooked with fresh ingredients. The restaurant is a bit tired and dated although there seemed to be renovations taking place at the hotel, therefore perhaps change is planned. There is an outside terrace with a wonderful view of the landscape and of the deer park below. Toilets were outdated but very clean.
Overall a very positive experience which made up for the disappointment of the expected French cuisine. Nevertheless, the French restaurant is still advertised which in my opinion should be changed.

The Reblinger hof is a nice hotel, in a beautiful setting in the hilly Bavarian Forest. Rooms are large and very well laid out, featuring furniture in the traditional local pinewood. Bathrooms are comfortable and roomy. Beware of the lack of thermoregulated shower: the water temperature can vary widely, depending on the other rooms demand, resulting in some hazard of light burns.
The restaurant supplies an excellent cuisine, nothing to say here except for the rather slow service, it was necessary to prod the waiters to get some orders running.
We were disappointed when we saw on our bill that an extra breakfast was charged (16 EUR) for our 9 month babygirl, nibbling with us at the table!

Every time we come here it feels like home. Reblingerhof is a hotel with atmosphere and extra features like a sauna and swimming-pool, but their topic is the environment and the hospitality. Although they changed the restaurant concept, it is no lack at all!👌

Wanting to see the fabulous baroque library in Metten, I found this place at activehotels.com. And what a find it was! Family owned, our suite-sized room overlooked gorgeous forested hills, with the restaurant's deer herd grazing below us. They also have a fish pond that supplies meals. The room was sumptious, completely stocked fridge, bathrobes, spotless. Our bed had a canopy even. Breakfast, which is included in the price, was a terrific assortment of German breads, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereal, you name it. Good lunch, great, innovative dinner. And it is a spa, although we could not partake because we didn't reserve any services, but there is a full line of all the spa type stuff. And so peaceful and serene, up in the hills far from traffic and planes and noise. It cost us 224 euros for two nights with breakfast. Including taxes. Totally worth the price.

We spent a few days in the hotel as a short vacation and all in all were happy with the place. There weren't too many guests making the stay less stressy from the crowds. The room was quite big and furnished in a kind of traditional style. The balcony had nice evening sun and a view to the opposing forest. There is an outdoor sauna in the wellness rooms, which was a big bonus for me: after a full day of hiking, cleaning up in the sauna before dining was great. The breakfast buffet was also more than plenty with alternatives suiting most tastes.
On the negative side, if one can count it so, the street has quite heavy traffic which made starting the hikes directly from the hotel less comfy. But the noise didn't reach the room or the balcony, so that was good. The wooden bed also made quite a noise when either of us moved a bit and that took a while to get used to in the night.
All in all, a quite comfortable place to stay.

After a long road trip we felt so welcomed and relaxed that we wanted to stay longer. Great food, good indoor pool facilities and excellent service.
Not the cheapest place, and a little drive from the autobahn, but the views, the 'luft', the staff, everything was just right.

We chose this hotel for an overnight stay. We didn’t know anything about the story and the reopening, which was only in February. The images of the website look much friendlier than the original. Especially the entrance area with small smelling animal cages is not particularly inviting. The reception was friendly and the wish for a nice double room with evening sun was kindly confirmed. However, the room was in a corner where we had nothing of the sun, as we had to be in the restaurant for dinner already 6.30 p.m. and a loud ventilation also bothered us a lot. On request we kindly got an upgrade to a suite on the upper floor. Very pleasant!!!
The dinner was very good with an unobstructed and beautiful view of the countryside, which we could also enjoy for breakfast. However, and unfortunately, breakfast was a disaster for a house with star cuisine and a very good restaurant. Simple cheap cheese and sausage, ham that rippled and everything always counted. It was only added after request.
Let's give the new owners some time to make it a good 4 star house. Good luck 👍

We went to this hotel because we wanted to try the "Schwingshackl dining culture", which was recently awarded a Michelin star. Unfortunately, the hotel itself does not match Erich Schwingshackl's ambitions at all. The quality of the hotel and the kitchen is extremely different, so there is a separate review for the restaurant.
About the hotel: Our room (we traveled with a dog), a so-called junior suite, was old and tastelessly furnished; they probably thought they had to give us a typical "dog room". This hotel still does not understand that customers react extremely sensitively when they are immediately put in a lousy room with their dog, but at the same time pay the same amount as other guests. Hoteliers should take a look at real luxury hotels, where we and our dogs are treated excellently and no room distinction is made. The wellness area was a complete disaster: sometimes the Finnish sauna did not work, sometimes the steam sauna, and the pool was far too cold. As it was quite cold outside during our stay, a little warmth would have been nice, especially as there is not much else to do in this area. One evening we ate in the "Heimatküche", the "normal" restaurant. We had a hard time finding something vegetarian, and it was OK, but not what you would expect in a hotel where the chef has earned a Michelin star. Breakfast was particularly disappointing: the coffee tasted bad, the buffet was of really poor quality. That is not acceptable when you have a Michelin-starred restaurant under your roof. Eating Michelin-starred cuisine in the evening and discount cheese in the morning? They obviously want to reach all target groups here - and that can't work out well. We certainly won't be coming back.

The hotel is idyllic outside Deggendorf. Be a new tenant 02/2024. The hotel still needs renovation / refurbishment in some places. But the food is a bomb! The house has 2 restaurants. The 1st offers excellent classic cuisine. The 2nd is run by Michelin and is awarded 1 star. And rightly so!! We tested both restaurants, the classic very good, the star restaurant top!! The peace in the valley, the view of the wildlife in the gate in front of the hotel balcony are worth seeing, good appetite!
