We needed a Maycation without the kids and this was our 3rd time at Omega (1 more trip and we've stayed in every chalet lol)

We were welcomed back with a chilled bottled champagne and chocolates and jumped straight into the warm jacuzzi. It was pretty chilly that day and the wind was howling but we didn't even notice once we were in our cozy cabin or relaxing in the jacuzzi, it's very well protected by the elements even its outside.

This time we stayed in the blue room and it was just as cozy as the red and green rooms we've already tried. The chalets are super spacious and have absolutely everything you would need. And if you run out of firewood or need absolutely anything, their friendly manager Jacky is a call away and he sorts you out in no time. The rooms are open plan and have spectacular views of the Lesotho mountains.

We did some fun dirtier rides on their property as well as along the river bordering Lesotho and we also rode into town and did some shopping and eating and exploring the town and their hikes.

We came back and had a braai the first night and watched Netflix while lying by the fireplace. There is no wifi in the rooms but signal is good so we had no problems streaming from our Vodacom dongle.

2nd night was much of the same, nothing beats a warm jacuzzi after a day of fun riding.

We can't wait to be back again and try out the next chalet and of course do lots more riding!

Wow, this is a very special place, a one in a million type of stay! The Container Cabin was beyond magical with very neat inside and everything we needed was provided, the Solar helped so much with the load shedding. There were so many things to do, we also went hiking, for every question I had Jonathan immediately answered and helped us. This is definitely a must visit

This little place is a hidden gem!!
Jackie is so helpful and welcomes you with a big smile!
The Jacuzzi is obviously the highlight of the cabin and is nice and hot!
Thank you so much Jonathan and Natalie for the awesome birthday surprise :)
The views from your balcony cannot be explained...it is truly amazing!
We stayed in the red cabin and is the last one in the row, therefore making it very private.
They even have gowns for those chilly nights!
The shower also opens up completely as does the whole front of your cabin..feels you are staying in the mountains - amaaaazzziiinggg!!
I would not recommend taking small children with you.
This establishment is not walking distance from town.
Please remember to book this place in advance as it is very popular.
We will definitely be back, but without kids :)

We had a lovely stay, but the unit is a bit overpriced. The bed was not comfy at all, very hard and the springs pushed through the mattress. The jacuzi was good but unfortunately it's set very hot and you can't lower the heat which was a bit annoying. The view was great. I also paid 2023 rates but they still advertise the unit for 2022 rates which is not fair.

Hi Jana. I'm sorry you didn't have a good night's sleep. If the jacuzzi is too hot, you can ask for it to be turned down, you just can't do this yourself as many people mess with these settings making it uncomfortable for the nrxt guests(which is probably why yours was too hot). Not sure what you mean by we advertise 2022 rates? We drop our rates for specials for specific dates from time to time, and honour those prices. Otherwise our rates are what we say they are on our posts and website. We hate to drop the ball. I hope you will consider visiting us again. Regarding pricing, with the ever increasing Eskom bills, we, or any establishment, are not able to provide heated jacuzzis at a lower price than this. Our Eskom bill is extremely high, we have 6 jacuzzis running all the time when there is no load shedding. A huge portion of our rates goes towards this bill. Have a lovely day and thank you for your feedback.

We stayed in the red cabin which is in a beautiful location with wonderful views. We were told via sms before arrival that the stacking door was sticking and would we be okay if someone came to repair it during our stay or after we checked out. As we really didn't want workmen there on our anniversary celebration, I asked whether the door was functional which I was told it was. With this information I replied to the sms and said that they can repair the door after we checked out. Big mistake, the main door is non functional and looking at the damage it has done to the deck has not been functional for quite some time. Not being able to fully open the door not only prevented us having the view which the pictures on the web site advertize, we could not lock the door while staying there and didn't feel very safe. By the looks of the ceiling board inside which had collapsed, the door has definitely caused a lot more problems. Other maintenance issues were also visible like peeling paint and a plug fitting coming out of the wall. Besides this, we did enjoy our stay and the peaceful surroundings. I think the red cabin just needs a lot of TLC to bring it back to what is advertised. We felt it was quite overpriced for the lack of maintenance. I don't think we will be back.

Hello Shirley. I'm am truly sorry about the Red Deluxe Cabin doors. We have now replaced the doors on both the Deluxe Cabins. This wasn't a simple procedure as the cabin frame had sagged. It needed to be jacked up and supported, doors were then manufactured according to these new measurements and in the interim these doors did not open or close properly. This, along with the other maintenance issues, have been carried out. Please mail me and we will find you more dates at a discounted rate so you can get the full Omega Experience. Thank you for your feedback.

The service was excellent, no electric blanket it was a bit cold, there were water bottles though. No Wi-Fi. If you go bring own coffee, sugar, salt etc. some of the things in the room needs to be repaired, like the bathroom door. the one thing I enjoyed the most was the jacuzzi and service, people there are nice and helpful and I will go back because of that.

We had the most amazing time at Omega Luxury Mountain Retreat. The cabin is so clean and caters for everything you need. The view is beautiful and the surroundings so peaceful. We cannot wait to book to go again.

When we were there we had constant rain and then snow. It was an added bonus. We therefore didn't spend time outside nor in the jacuzzi. We really want to come back when it is sunny.

The only tip I could give, is to warn people on contract cell phones, that you need international roaming as my phone kept picking up Lesotho.

We went for short honeymoon and just wow! This place has an amazing view on the mountains. The container cabins is really THE ONE you want to go to if you want some alone time with your spouse. Braai facilities is just perfect and everything you need for self catering is great.

Just side note: cellphone signal is not to great so that made it great for us so that the work couldn't bother us. :)

Just a stone throw from Clarens, these cabins are the perfect getaway for those wanting to escape the city. The breathtaking views of the mountains and peacefulness of the area creates a tranquility like no other. The cabins are well kitted out with all the necessary amenities required for weather fluctuations and loadshedding. The staff were amazing and from the get go made the experience pleasant. I would highly recommend Omega Luxury Mountain Retreat to anyone!

beautiful little cabin overlooking the mountains. however, there were a few issues in our cabin.
the fire place wasn't functioning properly, and made the room smoky.
the jacuzzi was constantly too hot and even after implementing the changes the manager suggested on site, the jacuzzi remained exceptionally hot.
doves / birds in the roof.
there weren't easily accessible hiking trails on site.

Hi Amar 439. I'm sorry you didn't get the experience you were after. As soon as the next guests chrck out that cabin, I'll go check the fireplace out, that's unacceptable. Doves in the roof are part of the package but I'm sorry Jackie wasn't able to sort out your jacuzzi. He can usually sort out 90% of problems that occur. No formal hiking trails but there are no fences for 40km in either direction, and it's all walkable. We have tried to mark the trails but mischievous children from Lesotho steal our markers and signs. If you would like to try us again, we will discount your next stay by 50%. Mail me on jonathan@omegaclarens.co.za. we would like to give you the full #TheOmegaExperience
