Beautiful situated in the centre of all attractions. Your motorvehicle is only needed to travel there and back; the rest is all in walking/hiking distance. The hosts, Heinrich & Bianca Pelser, remind you what 'Love thy Neighbor' really means when it come to their warmhearted friendliness, hospitality, advice and ambassadorship to such an unique artistic town between the sandstone mountains surrounding the area. It caters for everything and every-one; just go and explore!

Walked into a freezing ice chest of a room, switched on the underfloor heating and retired for a snooze as I was exhausted from a long journey, having just nodded off I was awakened by a visit from the manageress who walked into the room to give me keys and switched off the underfloor heating, mumbling something about load shedding - in no uncertain terms I insisted it was switched back on due to the freezing room temperature and it being advertized on the web site as part of the room facilities, I would have expected the heating switched on prior to our arrival as it took three days to heat up.
A tree in the centre of the parking lot with no outdoor lighting made reversing out of the premises a mission that took at least ten minutes when we left for supper in the evening, so on our return we parked in the front parking at reception which was vacant.
Before 9 the next morning we were awakened by the manageress again enquiring if we were here as our car was missing from the previous parking, so had my Sunday morning sleep disturbed in yet another intrusion from the manageress.
Altogether an unpleasant interaction poisoned our getaway weekend unfortunately.

Think twice before booking. The place is budget, not value for money.

The mattress was as ancient as the linen on it. I ended up sleeping on the floor. And by sleeping I mean reading and waiting for the morning.

Lovely self-catering accommodation offering great hospitality and comfort - very warm despite sub-zero temperatures outside. This guesthouse is ideally placed in Clarens; everything in the town is within walking distance. There are lovely views from all the rooms and cabins. We chose rooms in the main house and the management was very willing to accommodate our needs. Thanks for a lovely stay! Hope to see you again!
