I loved staying on this property. The farm is quiet and scenic, yet close to Clarens; my room was spacious and comfortable; and the pricing is very good value for a solo traveler (being there in the off-season, I had the luck of having the entire farmhouse to myself, which was fantastic!). I especially enjoyed the hiking opportunities that the farm had to offer. I did all three of the available day hikes - I enjoyed them all, but if you're short on time I suggest opting for the Mushroom Rock hike, which includes a good combination of meandering along a river then trekking up to a spectacular vista. If you do this trail, it's well worth opting for the 'strenuous' route rather than the leisurely one - it isn't especially tough, but leads you through a hole in the rock formation and down a steep ladder out the other side, which is fun provided you're comfortable with heights.

St Fort Country House is set on a working farm in a beautiful mountainous surroundings. It is peaceful, tranquil and affords you as much activity or quiet rest as you choose. The cottage was lovely and clean; the family who runs the place was very friendly and helpful. We especially loved swimming in their special swimming hole which is a weir that catches very refreshing mountain water as it cascades down to meet up with the Little Caledon River. We certainly plan to return again.

we had great hikes on the farm but the accomodation needs serious upgrade, photos on booking.com and on website itself not looking the same anymore. Cottage needs serious attention. bathroom had a drain block in the shower need a intense cleaning and the beam of the 2metre windo is broken and only supported by a thin piece of wood, should that beam break the roof and structure can fall apart. This is actually something very serious we only saw at the end of our stay, can be life threatening.

Set close to the town of Clarens, this gem of a breakaway holiday destination has been well hidden from the world. Trade the busy city life for a weekend away in this sandstone farm house built in the late 1800s. Spend some quality time with your family as you explore the famous Clarens mushroom rock or keep warm with a fire in the family room. The house is clean and tidy with everything you need to feel at home.

We had a great break away to Clarens, and was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the value for money and overall great stay at St Fort, just a short distance out of Clarens. There were overall peace and quiet, good service. The accommodation was clean and everything needed was provided for.

We did the Canniball hiking trail. Base camp was in very good condition with basic equipment like refrigerator. Braai area: exellent. We enjoyed the hike and had enough time to stop for coffee and taking in the breathtaking surroundings. The cave is the highlight of the hike with beautifull morning sunrise.

We stayed in the main farm house this week. We had the best time ever!! There are amazing hiking trials on the farm, beautiful gardens. The hiuse and bedrooms are spacious but still very cosy. The kitchen is well equipped. The staff and management were super friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure!!
